|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
This is a LEGAL Guesthouse permitted by the city of New Orleans. We give you the address and you will know exactly where you are staying. You are not paying $300.00 a night for a place that is not legally permitted by the city of New Orleans, or is unsafe for guests to stay. A private entrance to the Little Eazy, makes you feel like you are in your very own home. We provide the perfect casual cottage, that has two separate sleeping areas and a private bath. There is a couch in the living room which pulls out for another full size bed. Kitchen, living room, cable TV, radio, iPod player, a private phone and wireless Internet access. The kitchen is equipped with a full-size refrigerator and a microwave. We provide coffee, and tea. You can relax and read a book in the privacy of the back patio with hot tub and furniture. We also have a front yard with a cypress swing that you can enjoy while watching the carriages make their way back to the stables. Permit parking is available at no extra charge while staying at the Little Eazy. We're licensed by the City of New Orleans. Please check the availability calendar as we only have one cottage and when it books that is all I have to offer you. WE DO HAVE A 3 NIGHT MINIMUM....
Music & Relaxing: The Little Eazy is located in a residential neighborhood just outside the French Quarter. We are located 3 blocks from the French Quarter and 3 blocks from Frenchman St (where the locals go to hear music). There are many up and coming restaurants in the neighborhood, yet you are a 3 block walk to the French Quarter. It is a quiet neighborhood as compared to the French Quarter. The Little Eazy guests like it because the cottage is comfortable like being at home, yet close enough to any of the fun activities which New Orleans has to offer.
The cottage is a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom cottage. Each bedroom has 1 full/queen size bed (one full and one queen). The couch in the living room folds out to a full size bed. It can accommodate 6 people but that is a tight, and we want you to be comfortable during your stay in New Orleans. Like many houses in New Orleans you need to walk through one of the bedrooms to get to the bathroom. Also 6 people is tough with 1 bathroom
I fell in love with New Orleans on my first visit to New Orleans in 1988. After coming to New Orleans frequently I quit staying in hotels and preferred to have my own place. The Little Eazy was owned by Charles and Diana, and it became my second home on my visits to Nola. When I was talking to Diana one day, I told her I would love to own a house in New Orleans and she told me they were thinking of selling the Little Eazy. So my husband and I bought it and continue to run it as a guest house. I love owning it, I get to meet some very unique people. People who like to like to do things a little different, and who prefer to see a local view of the city.
The Little Easy is a wonderful place to stay in New Orleans. It's a short walk to Frenchman Street and the French Quarter. It's comfortable and roomier than I was expecting. The house is well-maintained and clean. My family had a great time staying there. The layout isn't perfect, with the bathroom in one bedroom and with a curtain for a door, but it wasn't that bad. I will definitely stay there again next time I bring the family to New Orleans.
Our previous visit was May 2014..... Fantastic! Margaret & Rick are super landlords/owners & the cottage is supplied with everything a person could need. Very comfy & the location is superb---walking distance to Everything! Clean, clean, clean....this cottage is extremely well kept. We've been vacationing in New Orleans since 1999, and a few years ago we decided to lodge outside the French Quarters and ventured into the Marigny area (best decision we've ever made regarding lodging) and after our first experience staying at The Little EZ (2013) we choose to Only stay here! You can't go wrong with this little gem !
We just returned back from the Little Eazy & the location cannot be beat! We LOVED the Little Eazy and would not stay anywhere else on future trips.
The cottage is attached to the main house area and though the owners are only a phone call away, you have complete privacy - both units have separate entrances. You can come and go as you like, order food from a local restaurant 24/7, take a soak in your private outdoor hot tub, relax on the outdoor bench swing while listening to music and sipping your favorite beverage. We felt very safe in the neighborhood. EVERYONE knows & has great things to say about the owners & we found this to be very comforting.
There is parking available in front of the cottage and Margaret happily gave us her guest parking permit for our rental car. We had no issues and were always able to park the car close enough to be able to see it from the cottage.
The kitchen has a microwave, full size refrigerator and all the supplies you would need to heat up lunch, dinner or leftovers from the night before. There is also a coffee pot and coffee grounds supplied.
The living room has a TV, couch, and chairs – the usual. But is also has a beautiful ceiling. It really opens the room up but at the same time is warm and welcoming. The cottage has two separate bedrooms, since it was just the two of us we slept in the same room each night which has a bathroom off of it. There is a closet for hanging your clothes, lots of hooks available and shelving above the bed which came in handy.
There is another room with a small couch/love seat. We didn’t use it, but it would be great to sit to read/relax if another member of your family/group wants to watch TV in the main living room – as the two rooms are far enough away that you can do that and not be interrupted.
We spent a lot of time in the back patio and loved every minute! The hot tub is located there, lounge chairs, full table/chairs, radio and plenty of New Orleans and Mardi Gras décor to make you smile. If you’re out there and taking it all in and you’re NOT smiling… I would be SHOCKED! The unit also has free WiFi!
Neighborhood = VERY friendly
Owners = GOOD people
Cottage = CLEAN & COMFORTABLE’
Location = PERFECT!
Onsite Info = There are 2 binders at the cottage were compiled just to make the guests life/stay easier and they are VERY helpful! They were clearly put together with care and are FAR better than the 10 – 20 random flyers that you see in a hotel lobby!
We stayed here for my birthday and Margaret was great to work with! We were looking for something close enough to the French Quarter so we wouldn't have to drive and park, yet I was hesitant to pay for parking as we were driving in. We had no problems finding parking on the street, though I could see if you tried to park in the evening on Friday or Saturday that it could be difficult. The kitchenette is perfect considering we weren't doing any cooking. The full size fridge was big plenty enough to hold waters and sodas. Margaret has a 2 big binders of information on the area and information on restaurants, extremely helpful when trying to get a feel of the area. We walked the French Quarter easily from the cottage--one day we did 23xxx steps which equates for 10 miles so that gives you an idea of our activity level. The bathroom is the perfect size and off the first bedroom. There's plenty of room in the cottage for the 2 of us and we can easily see 2 couples or a group of 3 being comfortable. We managed to find time to sit out in the hot tub one night and it was lovely. There's a yard cat who we disturbed when we went outside with tons of attitude but very pretty! Insider Tip: Go down to Frenchmen street, we heard the best brass band on the corner there one night and BMC (I think?) down on Decauter had the strongest drinks we found.
First of all, let's get the negative out of the way. This is not truly 2 bedrooms. One bedroom, the one that has access to the bathroom, has no door between it and the living room. You have to walk through it to get to the bathroom, 2nd bedroom, a pretty little sitting area and the back patio with hot tub. The bathroom, shockingly, has no door. Just a curtain. Any noise going on in the bathroom can be clearly heard in other parts of the cottage. Maybe I'm a bit prudish, but when I'm in the bathroom, I like privacy from other people that are not my immediate family. If this is the case for you, keep looking.
That being said it is a very charming cottage in an incredible location. Everything you could want and what you come to NO's for is almost at your finger tips. We walked everywhere, never needed the car or a cab once.
The cottage is comfortably furnished, the bedding was of good quality and there were plenty of towels furnished. There was no shampoo or soap in the bathroom. The wi-fi is a plus but was pretty spotty. Could have been the weather or who knows?
We never once cooked in the cottage since the food in NO is superb and there were plenty of places to eat but the kitchen seemed to be well stocked with equipment and it was really nice to have coffee and filters supplied and at hand. We didn't find any soda or water supplied like mentioned in the description but that's certainly not a big deal.
We met Margaret when we arrived and when we left. She was very nice and offered her help but we've been to NO several times before. The books she has prepared and left in the cottage would be an enormous help to anyone wanting more information on NO and what to see and do, where to eat etc. I don't think she's left a single thing out.
This place would be great for a family with small children or a single couple.
**note - there were 3 of us at the cottage. A couple and a single. The couple took the back bedroom with the door. The single slept on the sofa bed in the living room which worked out great for us since he was an early riser. BTW, he reported that the sofa bed was very comfortable.
Nice and cosy pleasant little house. Away from the noise and heat of the New Orleans's nest of vice, but fortunately not too far :) You can crawl home from The Quarter on all fours in no time :))
Quiet at nights, friendly people on the street at day - nice neighborhood.
Lots of true sweet local bars in walking distance, lots of fine restaurants in walking distance too.. 24th hour grocery is couple blocks away.
House is equipped with lots of stuff you need.. towels, iron, bath stuff, wireless broadband internet, central air conditioning etc. Although there wasn't a cooker - microwave and coffee machine was nice alternative. It's enough to cook quick breakfast or late supper. And you don't need more, cooking and eating at home is the last thing you should do in NOLA! Advice from our family is to visit the "Iggy's" bar, it's 3 min walking on Touro st. and N Rampart st. It's true bar and they do real local crawfish boil, not that tourist crap they do in tourist restaurants. You buy beer and get food for free. Crawfish boil is a sort of a daily special, and you should ask the exact day and time they gonna have the boil. They do other things like BBQ etc. and the same thing here: buy a drink - food for free.
Also you should check the house, there is some kind of tourist guides collection in the folder - truly an encyclopedia of New Orleans places, you can easily choose a place to eat or to party.
The last but not the least - her majesty Hot Tub :) It was amazing having a hot tub in the back yard. And the back yard is amazing by itself.
And as a separate item I should say a few words about the owners. Margaret and Rick. Guys, you're the best hosts ever. Wonderful, nice, helpful, open people. It was great pleasure meeting you. Our stay was short but you've done so many things for us, really making our stay a delight. Thank you for all from all of us! Hope we'll meet again.
