Built in 2006 and well maintained, this roomy 2,600 sq. ft. home sits on a large parcel on a quiet, flat, central street of single family homes and features spacious front and back yards. An open floor plan provides a spacious and comfortable feel. Enjoy a game of pool in the billiard room, have a BBQ in the back yard, or take a soak in the brand new (June 2016) hot tub. Enjoy movies or wireless internet via cable connection. Our home is located in the center of everything: Just a 5-7 minute drive from Heavenly ski resort, the Lake, fine dining, Bijou Pines golf course, and the casinos. The Chalet features 4 bedrooms (2 of which are spacious), a 1 year old sleeper sofa in the living room, a full sleeper sofa in a separate nook, and 3 full baths. Sleeps up to 12 people comfortably with no bunk beds and no more than 2 per room. Tasteful furnishings provide an elegant experience for your stay.

Four main bedrooms include: The Plantation Room: Outfitted with a gorgeous four poster bed, this elegant master bedroom has a museum quality green velvet chair from a bygone era and a fine replica oil painting of Gustav Klimt's ''Judith I''- There is an elegant master bath off the bedroom for your convenience. Step out onto the large deck where you can gaze upon the mountain skies at night.

The Frank Lloyd Wright Room: This large room is decorated in the craftsman style made famous by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright. A bright and airy room surrounded by windows, you can look out over a grove of pines from your bed and upon a beautiful Sierra mountain peak that is covered in snow during the winter time.

The Empress Room: With a gorgeous antique Empire style bed and marble top nightstand that would make Empress Josephine herself feel comfortable, this bedroom is truly elegant. The bed is covered in a satiny profusion of blue. High thread count cotton sheets will lull you to sleep in your stately surroundings.

The Lodge: Two twin beds perfect for the younger ones or singles preferring individual beds.

Nice house and location

We enjoyed the house over 4th of July weekend and he excellent location. Everything we needed was provided and the yard and hot tub were nice. However, we received a $270 ticket for having our boat trailer on the grass. The host did not state anywhere that this is a violation in south Lake Tahoe as we are not from the area. The rental terms state that parking is freely available. We wish we were informed of this but instead we received a rude message asking why we were parked on the grass. I explained the situation and never heard back from the owner.

Owner's Response: Visitors to South Lake Tahoe should know that the city has become very strict about VHRs recently and has passed new regulations that affect both owners and visitors. We also received a citation by the police for this event, and now we have to attend a hearing to get our permit renewed, even though Homeaway says our home is one of the most popular in all of SLT and we regularly bring in about 500 visitors per year. We are sorry this happened, but we don't make the rules nor were we even informed of them until after the fact. The citywide ordinance states that VHR guests are not allowed to park anywhere other than on hard surfaces on the rental property itself, not even the street in front of the house. Our rental agreement now includes this notice. If you are bringing a boat or a large number of vehicles to SLT, please check with the owner to be sure there is sufficient parking so that this misfortune does not happen to you.

Comfortable vacation home.

Plenty of room to relax when not out and about. It would be nice to have a little more seating in the living room area. carpets were a little spotty, but that is pretty standard in a rental. The only issue was a ton of garbage left behind by the previous occupants, but once the bear box out front was emptied we were able to dispose of our trash. The overflowing cans in the garage were never emptied, despite repeated assurance from owner that his cleaners were going to haul it away. Overall it was a minor annoyance, but did kind of stick in my craw.

All in all it was a very nice place to stay.

Awesome house! Would recommend to anyone!

The house is as pictured, has lots of room. Jonathan was great to work with on minor issues (cable not working at the time) but was able to get me a 800# and they resolved it within minutes. Overall, beautiful home and hot tub was a great addition to our stay.

We really enjoyed the house! Just wish we would have known we weren't allowed to be in the hot tub after 10pm or the neighbors will call the cops!

Good, but not great

The place was really good for a group of 8 women, and the kitchen was well-stocked to cook meals. However, the hot tub did not work at all and the owner was not very good about communication in helping us get it to work. The wifi was also very spotty. When I emailed him later about wanting some sort of a refund because of these issues, he never wrote me back.

Owner's Response: I am sorry the hot tub was not available for your use. The control board died shortly before your stay, and the service company took forever to reply to my service requests. Finally they told me it was unrepairable and they suggested a replacement.Today we just installed a brand new hot tub that seats 7 guests and has a lot more jets. We had 4 parties who were affected by this outage, and we are going to offer all of you a discount on a future stay to make up for the lost enjoyment on your visit. I haven't experienced a poor wifi signal, and I am a power user who spends most of my time here online to stay connected with my office, but anyway I moved the access point to try to provide better coverage. I am glad that you found our home otherwise enjoyable. With the recent upgrades, including new hot tub and new BBQ grill, our house has excellent amenities, is well priced, and is in a great location, which probably explains why ranks us as in the top 5% of all 4BR rentals in South Lake Tahoe in terms of inquiries and ratings. Hope to have you back as a repeat customer in the future.
