The living room looks out to the courtyard and forest with floor to ceiling sliding doors. During the cooler months the large windows bring the outside in while you are cozy by the fire.

This is the perfect place to enjoy your friends or family and relax. Clean, tasteful and has comfortable beds, each with reading lights. Bunk room can accommodate the occasional extra guest.

Five minute drive to North Eastham center with Ben and Jerry's, Arnolds, Mac's seafood, gourmet deli, shops, more.

Perfectly situated for easy access by car or bike to ocean beaches, Cape Cod Rail Trail, the National Seashore Center and Wellfleet Audubon Sanctuary.

Bonus for parents of small children: The backyard/ main outdoor living space is completely enclosed by a high, tasteful, wide perimeter fence. So, you can relax instead of worrying about your child wandering off the property.

Water Access: The private water access is via the quiet sandy lane of Westshore Drive accessed from the front of the house. We are six houses in from the water.

More fun stuff: There are multiple, lounge chair floats with arm and back rests and a place for your beverage. When the tide is high, you can tie them onto nearby floating moorings to make your own flotilla near the private water access.

Why Owner chose Massachusetts

This is a very sweet and special property. It is extremely private and the courtyard faces a completely undeveloped wooded lot with an abundance of birds.

When you walk through the garden gate, you walk into a beautiful world which is only a two minute walk to the water. Professional landscaping makes the front and back yards an inviting place to relax.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We found the house to be a lovely, little refuge amidst the sometimes

frenetic pace of August on the Cape. It's design--opening onto a

patio and garden ringed with shrubs and trees--makes for a sense of

seclusion, greenery, and quiet. Inside is bright, comfortable, and immaculate.

Just down the street from the water, our two young children were easily able

to walk to the beach for early morning beachcombing or swimming with the

high tide. And the outdoor shower is a gift at the end of a long day; the sand

all stays outside!

The location makes it very convenient for accessing all the great beaches

in the Wellfleet, Eastham and Truro area, and overall, a delightfully clean and cozy

place to come back to at day's end...

Peaceful and great location!

  • 5 of 5

We had 6 adults and a 2 year old and the house was just perfect for us. The convenience to the private AND public beach was great and the private beach alone is perfect for little ones! The house is very charming and the grounds are exquisite. We found it very peaceful watching the birds and resident chipmunks play in the yard. I felt like it was our own secret garden. The hammock in the front was enjoyable after a long day at the beach. The house location to route 6 was great, just far enough away to feel the seclusion but close enough to have all the other amenities within a short drive or bike ride. The home was stocked with all of the things you would find in a year-round home so there wasn't anything that we needed to bring otherwise that isn't stated in the property amenity list. The outdoor shower is a must in the cape and we took advantage of it everyday. With a small child it was very nice to have it to wash off after the beach. The neighborhood was very friendly and felt very safe. We had amazing weather and will be back in the years to come! Thank you Karen for sharing your charming home with us, we are very happy to have found it!

Lovely garden retreat, So close to bay beach

  • 5 of 5

Our favorite feature of the cottage was the garden. The flowering plants, house and canopy created a uniquely private outdoor room. It was great starting each day sipping coffee at the outdoor table watching the many birds and chipmunks that visited the feeder. Our teenagers spent hours reading in the hammock.

We've always loved the flats of the bay beaches at low tide. But we also enjoyed the supplied inflatable lounge chairs to float in the waters when the beach disappeared at high tide.

The cottage itself is cozy, clean and well supplied. Karen checked in with us on the second day, just to make sure everything was OK.

The cottage is located in the northern part of Eastham, very close to the peaceful town of Wellfleet. The bike trail is a little over a mile away and the ocean side beaches are just a few miles away, making for an easy bike ride. We would definitely love to stay here for our next visit to the Cape.

Great Relaxing Place, Perfect for a family

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed staying at this house, very close walk to private bay beach. The grounds were wonderful and provided hours of entertainment for my little kids, chasing butterflies, inspecting bugs and plants. We had everything we needed from coffee filters to outdoor furniture and even a shed to lock our bikes in. Also very close to Rt 6 and the ocean beaches. I would recommend this house to anyone couples, families etc. It was very quiet and relaxing.

A beautiful home in a beautiful part of the world

  • 5 of 5

This wonderful secluded house was the perfect place for our family stay. The beautiful and private garden was an ideal. We enjoyed breakfasts and dinners amongst the flowers and birds.

The house was clean and in a really good condition. Situated at the end of a quiet lane, the house was a short walk either to the private beach or the public one.

The owner has provided plenty of other amenities for use at the beach and at the property itself. The outdoor shower was perfect after a long day at the beach!

As for location, it was ideal, we could easily travel the whole cape from here! North Eastham itself has plenty of stores in easy reach too, (beware the Hole in One Donut Shop if you want to watch your weight). A trip to Arnolds is a must! Don't take the 6 to Orleans but drive Herring Brook Dr. / Bridge Rd for some stunning views out to the coastline.

Karen, the owner is very engaged in the property and responsive to any questions we had. She really made it easy to enjoy our stay here.

The kids loved staying in the bunks. The Master bath was comfortable too.

I can't recommend the property or it's owner highly enough. We would love to return here if we ever come back to Cape Cod.

Clean, comfortable, private, and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

The house is lovely, clean, and very comfortable. Plenty of windows so it's bright, and because many are tilt windows they could stay open when it rained, so it didn't get hot and stuffy. Kitchen is well stocked, beds and pillows were comfortable and clean. And the outside shower was great! The yard is private, with plenty of shade, and the gardens all around the ample patio create the very "homey" feeling. The patio had a shade screen over it so it was a wonderful, cool place to relax over coffee in the morning, or after the beach, and all evening!

Beach is a VERY short walk up the road anytime except high tide. The tide reaches the steps to the beach there, so we used the floats provided with the house and just floated on the bay. The walk around to Campground Beach is only a few hundred feet further for beaching during high tide.

Overall a wonderful place to stay!

Great for kids and super location

  • 5 of 5

This house is great for kids for two reasons- the courtyard is entirely fenced in, so you can enjoy the outside gardens and let the kids play without worry. And you can also walk to a bayside beach which is super kid-friendly. The location was ideal- right off Rt 6, which has plenty of great restaurants and ice cream shops (Arnolds, Ben and Jerry's, Sam's Deli, Mac's Seafood) and it also close enough to the bike path - we were able to ride our bikes to the bike path, with our seven-year old, about 10 minutes away. Yet when you are at the house, it is very quiet and a nice neighborhood. Bird watchers would delight in staying at this house, as it seems to be a haven for all sorts of birds. The outdoor shower is a plus, and the accommodations were good for our family of four, and then some. The kitchen was well-stocked, and we spent most nights grilling outside and playing Scrabble! We would recommend this house to any family wanting to spend a nice quiet week next to a great beach.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the nice review! My only clarification is that the property is located at least 1/2 mile from Route 6; very close to the Bay beaches where it is convenient but you do not hear the roadway.
