500 feet to beautiful white sandy swimable beach.
Great views and very private with all the amenities.
relaxing Baja style!
The Casita in Buena Vista was exactly what I was hoping for. The casita was clean and well furnished with charming Mexican style furniture and decorative touches, it oozed Baja California. The kitchen was well equipped with newer appliances; everything you need to cook or make margaritas. Unlike many vacation rentals the furnishings and kitchen appliances were not garage sale hand me downs. I appreciated the extra touches.
I took my stand up paddle board and easily carried it to the beach. The beach is clean and very close and can be viewed from the casita terrace. The owners provided beach chairs and towels which was nice. There is a BBQ which we used once.
We enjoyed morning walks on the beach, swimming and paddle boarding and then in the late afternoon another walk to one of two beach bars.
We were lucky to be the only guests at the property. I don't know how it would be different if there were guests upstairs but we had seven days of privacy and enjoyed every minute of it. Oh, the neighbors are nice, too.
My family and I (3 generations, all adults) spent 2 weeks around Christmas of 2016 at Villa Valentine. It was a perfect vacation because after snorkeling, drives to Cabo Pulmo and Punta Pescadero, trips by ATV along the beach to the lighthouse, and hanging out in Los Barriles, we always came home to the villa. To be specific, we rented the whole of the villa, which includes (in 3 stories) a master suite upstairs on the top floor with gorgeous cantina and beautiful deck with barbeque and hot tub, 2 bedrooms each with their own bath on the main floor, separated by the living room, dining room, and kitchen, and the bottom floor casita which includes bedroom, bath, living room, and kitchen. Oh, and there are (I think) 4 flat screens distributed about and satellite with Dish. The kitchen is stocked from a gourmet point of view. There are blow dryers and beach towels and even provisions that have been left by others to share. The owners of this magnificent place are readily available and so attentive and thoughtful. (They left the Christmas tree up for us so that we could celebrate a Christmas Eve birthday!) One caveat, which we happily complied with: the floors are so beautiful in the saltillo tile style and they are sealed, so we went without shoes inside. We just piled the shoes outside and collected them on our way out. This is a 3-floor palace, so there are stairs (once you are inside, the staircases are sweeping and shallow and not difficult to traverse), but as others have mentioned, it's good exercise and worth the effort for the gorgeous views. Also, this house is very close to the beach, maybe the equivalent to a city block, with beautiful views from the villa out to the sea from every room. To us it was perfect...Close to the sea and yet set back and private. There is a sound system and a DVD player. There is a phone line with free calls to the U.S. Again, we rented the entire villa, but I believe you can rent the Casita by itself, which has a private entrance and is a very comfortable apartment. This is a perfect spot for those who will treat this villa with loving care and appreciate all that it provides. Thank you Tim and Cindy for sharing your villa with us!
So impressed by this beautifully decorated Mexican Villa by the Sea of Cortez when I first saw it in March 2012, I thought, "How could it get any better?" But it does. I have increased my expections of PERFECT with each visit to the Casita. There is so much to explore- the unusual succulent plant life, the marine wildlife and beachcombing, the wild horses, burros & cattle, the Sierra de la Laguna, the friendly people. The proximity to the airport & Cabo and to Los Barrilles & LaPaz means shopping for gifts, groceries or nightlife. While "home" in the Casita I am very comfortable in the AC, listening to commercial free radio, watching TV and connecting on WIFI to the internet for photography sharing. I love the red clay tile floors; and the Palapa front cabinets and the cute turquoise kitchen table. I have carefree time for a boat ride to see the whales, dolphins and Mobula Rays fly to a bellyflop. Or take an ATV ride up and down the beach and out in the chaparral.
The weather was perfect while staying in March, October and December. What a nice tan. The Sea of Cortes was bathwater warm in October. Swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving and even fishing is easy from the gently sloping sandy beach, and never crowded near the private homes of the area.
I am going back for more Baja Beautiful and 12 hours of daylight!
I extended my stay an additional month. When in Buena Vista I know that I want internet, a US phone line, easy contact with the home owner, and a feeling of safety and well-being. All of that is here in addition to the spacious size of each room, not just the kitchen & dining area. While here my guests and I have played pool, barbequed, enjoyed stary nights, the hot tub and barbequed dinners on the 3rd floor balcony. The neighbors are quiet yet friendly, AND we have fed the burro who calls us from outside the front gate. We play in the warm waters of the Sea in the calm of the morning and wander over to the Spa later in the day for some aquasize or lounging. On the video and recommendation of last weeks guests 3 more friends are on their way to snorkel with the whale sharks in La Paz this morning. This continues to be my best visit to Buena Vista. I no longer have to research where to stay. There are alot of stairs but my legs are so grateful for their new strength.
We have stayed at Villa Valentine twice and hope to return again! It is a fantastic vacation home on the beach. This home is furnished in Modern Mexican style and has everything one needs...great clean kitchen, beautiful bathrooms, linens & beds are nice, clean and comfortable. The views from the upper patio and rec. room are amazing especially sunrise and sunset....and if by chance there are a few clouds hanging around well that is all one needs to witness the glorious surroundings. We have seen turtles laying eggs, we have witnessed the hatching of turtle eggs, we have seen flying manta rays, and the great grey whales basking in the Sea of Cortez! All in all this IS the place to be! Thank you Tim and Cindy your hospitality is amazing
Villa Valentine is a contemporary, Mexican- flared home, designed for true comfort. It has been my chosen vacation destination/rental for the past five years. The home is located near the quaint and secure Baja community of Los Barillas. It is walking distance to the beach with fishing and snorkeling.
Villa Valentine sleeps six comfortably, eight including the Casita. The top floor provides a large recreational area/bar with a pool table, flat screen television, and an open patio with a gorgeous view. The daily sunrise and sunset are incredible! We have always enjoyed the hot tub and barbecuing after a long day on the quads.
Our last trip, we were fortunate enough to come across two mother turtles laying their eggs in the sand. It was a sight to see!!!
We highly recommend Villa Valentine! Thank you Tim and Cindy for the lifetime memories!!!
