The Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is the perfect get-away. The beautifully landscaped resort located in northwest Florida, between Pensacola and Panama City, eight miles east of Destin, has four championship golf courses, fifteen tennis courts, an onsite fitness center, biking trails throughout the resort, a full-service marina and, of course, Absolutely the most beautiful sugar white beaches in the world!
This first floor luxury studio has easy access to the heated pool featuring a swim-under waterfall, and to the fitness center. The sugar white beaches we all love are about a football field away from the pool deck. Walk down the steps, across the driveway to the Hilton, down the Elephant Walk sidewalk beside the new Beach House Restaurant, then over the boardwalk to the beach! No roads to cross! No waiting for the elevators!
Our patio faces East - perfect for waking up to those amazing Emerald Coast sunrises. In the evenings, you can go to the Observation Deck on the eleventh floor and enjoy the majestic sunsets. The views of the Gulf of Mexico and Choctawatchee Bay are breathtaking.
In addition to the beaches, the Village of Baytowne Wharf, on the bayside of Sandestin, offers activities, shopping, eateries, and entertainment. There is music and fun for everyone. We know you are just going to love it here!
This place was super pretty and clean, and not to mention on the first floor! (No elevators!!:) Great location too. Very close to the beach and baytown. Will be coming back soon!
This is the first time I've been here during October - I usually come in June and have a wonderful time when I'm here...but October is amazing!!! The beaches aren't as crowded, the sunsets will take your breath away, and the temperatures are perfect. Love your condo - the ground floor location means we don't have to wait for an elevator to come and we really enjoyed the patio. We cooked out at the grill a lot and it was sooo convenient! Love the personalized touches in your condo - it was exactly what we were looking for! Count on us at least twice next year! :-)
This unit was very nicely decorated, comfortable, and appointed nicely for the unit it is. It is a studio unit with only a microwave and a toaster to cook on, however, so preparing a full meal will be difficult. The building's gas grills are just outside the back door if you want to plan to use them, but there is no stove top and the sink/prep area is too small to do much cooking and clean up work. Fine for a long weekend, but if you're planning to stay for a week and not eat out all week, be prepared.
Reccomend parking in the upper level of the deck closest to the Hilton. You can easily carry your stuff in the back door for an easy haul.
Walk to the beach is short, but the short path takes you to a pretty crowded section of beach with a few of the properties roping off sections for their patrons only.
The sunset deck is nice in the evenings, but it closes at 7:00???? Makes no sense at all with sunset being 2 hours later. Owners should have a chat with management about that.
There is an ice maker by the bathrooms off the pool deck most people don't know about. Plan to use that one and don't tell everyone The ice machine in the basement by the elevators isn't big enough to serve the entire building and there is not enough freezer space in the small fridge unit to make your own or to store a bag of ice from the store. .
There is a shuttle bus running around the property that will take you over to Baytown Wharf where there are a bunch of restaurants and nightlife. We didn't discover this until our last night there and wish we had known earlier.
Overall, we liked the unit and it is located in the heart off all that's going on there. The owners were very nice and great to work with. There are a couple of shortcomings as mentioned above, but you can work through those and have a nice time in a nice place to stay.
