Why the Owner Chose Alma: It's incredibly peaceful! It is close to all the activities that we love as well as Breckenridge. In addition, we have a large downstairs rec room with a ping-pong table, darts, and other games. The walk-out basement leads out to our stream side fire pit great for roasting marshmallows with your children and a mountain croquet course that you will love, along with the fabulous view!
My name is Brian and I am an interior trim carpenter, professional woodcarver, and artist. My wife Mary, is a school teacher. We have lived in Breckenridge for over 25 years before building our dream home in Placer Valley, where the aspens and streams meet the sky. If you are looking for knowledge on the best local trails, during your next adventure, come see us. We are both avid mountain bike/back country skier type people and I personally would love to show you the way. Please don't hesitate to call for any info.

This house is very cosy & warm. Beautiful views close to mountains. Great location to FairPlay & Breck. Loved it!!!
Me and My family spend last holiday break in this house. I think people in every category can find this house charming and totally fell in love with. Beautiful area, piece, outstanding views, whole house beautifuly decorated for Christmas, even the dinner table set for Christmas dinner- we couldn't find a pleace more "home" so far from home
Everything clean, no dust, hardwood floor a masterpiece, ping pong table to keep the little and the big one busy when not skiing- definately the best vacation house we had since we travel to Colorado.
We loved staying here in July 2015. Our group varied between 4 and 7 people as family came in and out over the week we were there, and we had all the room we needed. The views were so lovely and the location was convenient for all kinds of outdoor activities. We especially enjoyed the hike around the Hoosier Pass, and taking a bike ride from Breckenridge to Frisco. (Beware there is one steep uphill in an otherwise mostly downhill ride.) We also enjoyed horse back riding at American Safari Ranch (don't mind the rather gruff owners.) The ride showcased beautiful not-to-be missed scenery -the high plains. My son loved challenging us to endless games of ping pong at the house, and we were lucky enough to make a fire in the fire pit a couple of nights. (I understand that some summers it is too dry and fires aren't allowed.) We loved sitting on the deck, and spotted wildlife in the yard (deer,) down the street (fox) and on the Breckenridge ski lift (moose.) All in all, the house more than met all our needs, Brain was easy to work with, and we hope to return some day!
WOW. This home is unbelievable. It is absolutely stunning. As soon as you walk in through the front door, you are starting directly through the huge windows in the living room to the fourteen thousand foot mountains in the back. The views are unreal. This home is also spotlessly clean and full of natural light. The beautiful houseplants in the living and sun room provide a very special organic touch. The sunroom is a real treasure. The view from this room looks out at the mountains. It is the perfect spot for coffee/tea in the morning or a drink in the evening, though you'll not want to miss the huge balcony off the back of the home in the evening! There is even a grill that we used to cook hamburgers for dinner one night.
Brian was wonderful to deal with. He was very responsive during the booking process. He really put his heart and soul into building this beautiful home. It is meticulously crafted and the wood working will blow you away. This absolutely felt like a luxury getaway for as high end as the house is and how well appointed it is.
It was just my wife and I staying here for our honeymoon but the home is so large that it could easily accommodate more guests. There are 2 large bedrooms and a full bath downstairs as well as a game room. We slept just fine upstairs, had hot showers and all the amenities we needed in the kitchen. If you are looking to stay near the Breckenridge area, definitely consider this home. It is only about 15 to 20 minutes into Breckenridge. We had spectacular service and dinner at the Hearthstone restaurant in Breck. It is in an old Victorian house and the food was wonderful. We also ate at the Briar Rose and enjoyed our meal there as well. We were able to navigate everywhere we wanted to go: Rocky Mountain National Park (about 1 hr and 30 to 45 min drive), the Georgetown loop railroad and retired silver mine tour, exploring Denver, drove to Buena Vista, the Royal Gorge bridge and my wife went ziplining at the Royal Gorge Zipline and Rafting not far from the Royal Gorge bridge and she had a great time. There is a Whole Foods in Frisco near Breck if you'd like to stock up on quality provisions and a nice market and liquor store in Breck.
Thank you Brian and Mary for sharing your beautiful home with us. We really enjoyed our time here in CO and at this lovely home and hope we can stay here again one day if we are lucky enough to make it back!
My partner and I took our son to Aspen View for his first Christmas along with his grandparents. The property worked out really well for us, it's a lovely home with great views of Mt Bross and Mt Lincoln from the back deck.
The whole place was beautifully finished and with really good attention to detail. The heated floors were especially nice given the rather wintery weather outside and Brian arranged to have the driveway ploughed when the heaviest snow hit.
Despite being pretty close to Breck and Alma we ended up bringing up nearly everything we needed for the week. The kitchen was pretty well equipped for cooking a Christmas dinner for 6, and the beds and bathrooms were very comfortable.
The only thing we really wished we'd brought was a baby gate to put at the top of the rather steep flight of stairs leading down from the main living area. We ended up keeping it barricaded with our pack and play which worked just fine, but it's worth bearing in mind if you have a little one.
I had the pleasure of spending a weekend at Aspen View and it was wonderful. This log cabin is the real deal. I was blown away by the evident craftsmanship that went in to the construction. The views from the deck left us speechless. I only wish I had more time to enjoy this spot.
