An enchanting five-bedroom Caribbean villa perched on a gentle hillside above beautiful Leverick Bay on the peaceful island of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands; Coconut Grove is only a stone's throw from a phenomenal snorkeling beach. This poolside villa is ideal for couples, family reunions, weddings and receptions.
The entrance to beautiful Coconut Grove is through a harem of coconut palms and tropical gardens. Colourful Caribbean flora and fauna also surround the tanning area and large fresh water swimming pool, complete with submerged seating, lighting and pool floats. Comfortable chaise lounges adorn the Oklahoma stone decks surrounding the partially raised pool edge. The alfresco bar, complete with a second full size refrigerator/freezer, sink, glasses and beach coolers, is ideal for dinner parties and convenient to the pool and the large gas BBQ grill.
Inside the villa, the spacious Great Room with dramatic cathedral ceiling and captivating views invite you to lounge in comfort. For great BBQs and dinner parties you'll enjoy the modern well-equipped gourmet kitchen with centre island and indoor dining area that comfortably seats 10-14. The living area doubles as an entertainment area, with a large colour Cable TV complete with movie channels, VCR, DVD and stereo system. Movie and music libraries are provided along with a library of novels and magazines, games, cards and puzzles. A powder room is conveniently located just off the Great Room.
Sliding glass doors on three sides of the Great Room invite you to the outside covered patio lounging and dining areas where delightful tradewinds and spectacular views of the North Sound and Caribbean Sea leave you in awe. Ceiling fans are abundant throughout Coconut Grove and no exception has been made for the outside covered dining area where seating is provided for 10-12 dining guests. Additional patio furniture provides grouped seating for guests on all decks. The hammock, swinging in harmony with the cooling breeze, gives guests a chance to read, reflect on the day or just plain snooze. The pool table and Pro Form exercise machine offer hours of pure enjoyment day and night, rain or shine.
All five bedrooms are equal in size and feature king size beds, bathrooms, en-suite closets, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, phone, colour Cable TV, alarm clock, safe and private balconies. Comfortable balcony furniture allows quiet times for watching the sun rise or writing post cards. The main floor is wheelchair friendly and consists of three bedrooms decorated in relaxing tones of cool greens and sandy beiges, highlighted with a stylish blend of wicker and antiques. Two additional bedrooms are accessed via a spiral staircase from the Great Room to the lower level hallway, which facilitates the DSL connection port and computer plus the pathway down to the nearby beach. An upper and one lower bedroom suite each offer trundle beds for up to 4 additional guests.
Exceptionally well maintained villa with great layout for large groups: big dining tables inside and out; lots of comfortable seating in the great room, on decks, and by the pool. The ceiling fans inside and out on the decks helped when the breeze died down. Good views of North Sound from the Anegada cut over to BEYC.
Large pool with fun selection of toys and floats. We were in the pool several times a day and in the hot tub most nights. I was skeptical that we'd make use of a hot tub in the BVI but it was fantastic and just the thing if the pool cooled us down too much.
Well laid out kitchen decently stocked with cooking utensils. Very well stocked with pots, pans, serving dishes, and tableware. Not a criticism but might be a good idea to have more plastic drink ware for poolside happy hours.
Bedrooms were spacious and thoughtfully equipped with alarm clocks and night lights (even though power never went out on us this trip). When the winds died halfway through the week, some of our group were very glad to have the option to turn on A/C in the bedrooms. Beds were huge and very comfortable with a plentiful stock of pillows. Nice bathrooms with good water pressure in the showers. The handheld shower heads were a nice touch.
Landscaping around the property was lush and lovingly maintained. The plantings provided privacy from the main road to Leverick. Speaking of, being on the main road meant there was a bit of noise but there's rarely much traffic so that wasn't a problem for us.
The kids complained that the wifi only reached part of the house which meant that if they wanted to be on their devices, they had to either be in one of their bedrooms or the great room with us old folks (it also reached the north side deck). This was not a negative to any of the adults.
Caretaker Tiina was friendly and available if we had any questions. It was a treat to meet her and her fur babies.
Our housekeeper, Angelo(sp?), was also friendly and a pleasure to speak with.
Trudi at Best of BVI was a dream to work with - she replied to all inquiries with lightning speed and good humor.
We have had the privilege of staying at Coconut Grove twice and cannot say enough about it! The villa is perfectly situated in Leverick Bay for gorgeous views and lovely breezes. The grounds are impeccably maintained with lush palms and tropical plants everywhere. The pool is a wonderful place to cool off after a day on the gorgeous beaches of virgin gorda, the pool area is complete with an outdoor fridge and bar area, such a nice touch. The hot tub is a fabulous place to spend the evening gazing at the seemingly endless stars. The house itself is well laid out with 5 equal size master suites. The living area is huge and the kitchen well stocked with everything you might need for cooking dinners in this amazing property. The enormous wrap around decks are a huge plus, fabulous views and always breezy and cool.
The owner, Tiina is just a lovely person and so very kind and helpful from the initial contact, to greeting us at the ferry dock, helping with provisioning, and answering any and all questions we had about Virgin Gorda and the neighboring islands. We have rented villas all over the Caribbean and Coconut Grove is our favorite and Tiina is the best and most helpful owner we have dealt with over the years.
Virgin gorda is a pristine, tropical oasis and Coconut Grove is the only place to stay in my opinion. Do yourself a favor and GO!!! You won't be sorry and you will find yourself wanting to return again and again!!
I have stayed here twice and it was absolutely amazing. We have made memories here and I will never forget it. It is just a short walk to the beach and few minutes walking to the tiki restaurant. I hope everyone will love it as much as I did.
We've been fortunate enough to stay at the Coconut Grove Villa more than once, and each stay was absolutely outstanding. The villa itself is superb with 5 spacious bedrooms each having a full bath; A/C; TV; beautiful and COMFORTABLE furnishings; and convenient extras such as hair dryers and lighted make-up mirrors. The living and kitchen area is also simply gorgeous and well appointed, again with just lovely and COMFORTABLE furnishings. The kitchen has every appliance and gadget you could ever need. And my favorite, the fridge even included an ice maker! This area is surrounded by sliding doors that allow the Caribbean breeze to flow throughout keeping us all cool and refreshed. The outside covered area of this villa is the perfect place to enjoy beautiful views of the Caribbean; enjoy lunch; nap in the hammock ; and my favorite, mix up a nice drink in the outside wetbar which includes a full size fridge also. We spent most of our time in the outside area enjoying the views; catching some sun in the loung chairs; and hanging out in the fabulous pool! The pool was everyone's favorite feature! We were in the pool every afternoon and evening, it was awesome! The outside area is also perfectly landscaped with beautiful flowers, shrubs and gorgeous stonework.
But, the best feature of the Coconut Grove Villa, is its owner. (The instructions say to exclude names in the review, so I'm not including a name.). She was so very awesome! She answered all of our questions before, during and after our stay. She had the villa provisioned for us upon arrival; offered to meet us at the ferry dock upon arrival; helped us with the logistics of the flight and ferry schedules; and was as close as a phone call to handle any other questions we had. Again, she was and is so awesome! She made our stay so perfect the first time, that this last time I was more excited to come back to the Coconut Grove Villa, than I was to come back to Virgin Gorda! Someone would ask me where we were going this year and I would say back to Coconut Grove! But of course, Virgin Gorda is awesome too. The beaches and views on VG are stunning; the people are so nice; and Coconut Grove Villa is the best villa to enjoy all that VG has to offer. We can't wait until we have another opportunity to stay at Coconut Grove. My words here can't fully describe how much we enjoy this villa or how much we appreciate its owner for all of her efforts in making our stay there so very perfect.
