We bought the house because it was near the city of Santo Domingo, the cristal clear ocean water, white sand beach, fresh seafood nearby all year around. Its a relaxed place where you can spend the day in your bathing suit, resting, soaking in the rays, sipping pina coladas and we wanted to share this with our family and friends.
Walking distance to the pool and the beach. Quiet and friendly community. Laid back vacations. Close to the airport and the city.
My family and I had a lovely time here over Christmas and New Years. During our stay, we were the only family on the property so we had lots of privacy. We found Luis' home very clean and well taken care of. The property is quite beautiful, very safe/guarded and great for a large family with its many rooms and large group spaces. The property has a pool and private beach and isn't too far away from the major cities. I would recommend renting a car to get to/from here and to make it easy to get groceries, etc. Marta, the cook/maid, was extremely helpful and friendly. She prepared delicious meals for us and kept the place is excellent shape. The value you receive for the price is absolutely amazing.
We would certainly stay here again!
The house, staff, amenities and facilities are just as advertised. The house is easy to get to and is very clean. Marta (the cook/cleaning lady) was very helpful and friendly. You need to bring your own food and drinks to the house in order for her to prepare what you need, and if she doesn't know how to cook it, she's very willing to learn. We had some blackouts, but the inverter they have in the house makes all electric appliances keep working, so you don't even feel it. Water heater worked well. There are good restaurants just a few miles close to the house, as well as small convenience stores for stuff you forget to bring. The pool is very clean and has good temperature. The beach also has a nice feel to it, but the beginning of it is really rocky, so water slippers are recommended. There's plenty of space for big groups to spread in the house and around the property. We were a party of 11 (including children) and everyone felt comfortable and had a blast. The house has cable and it has many channels available, however, most of them are in Spanish. The house has wifi, but it can get slow if two or more computers try to connect at the same time. The owner was always very responsive to our questions before, during and after the trip, very friendly and reliable. Electricity is paid separate from the cost of the house and depends on how much you spend during your stay (we spent about US$ 50 for 3 nights and 4 days). I would recommend this place 100%!
This home is definitely a must for a large group. Five bedrooms with its own bathrooms is heaven in comfort. Besides, its tastefully decorated.
This was our second time around in this place and we recommend it highly.
The owner, Don Luis, the cook, Marta, and the people working in this complex were all very nice and helpful. Manuel was always willing to run errands for us.
It's very different to other rentals in the area. The fact that its located in a safe and secured area and part of a beautifully landscaped tropical environment, makes it a very attractive option.
Also, most of the homes are owned by local, well to do Dominicans and used only for weekend getaways.
Anyone who want to get away from it all, can come here during the Winter months and be totally alone in this place (Dominicans think it's too cold to be on the beach at this time of the year). We ended up with the whole complex and beach for ourselves, with the exception of the weekend when one family came in. After that, it was ours again to enjoy.
To get around we used the local taxi service. The drivers could speak some broken English, but that didn't seem to be a problem.
I read some of the reviews on this place. Some are way blown over proportion. You have to be conscious of what you are getting into. The electricity you consume is on you. There is hardly any need for the AC in January or February. If used, run it at night and make sure you shot them off when getting up. We had all the fans running day and night to get the daytime fresh air. That seemed to work. At the end of the week we only consumed US$130.
Also, there are no holes on the wall for showers in the home. This occurs only by the pool where you shake off the sand before getting into the pool. And that is a common practice everywhere you have beach and pool combo in the DR.
Plan to rent this place over and over again. It might become a home away from home whenever our large family gets together in the DR.
My youngest Daughter and her husband wished to get married on the Beach at the Costa Coral Caribe Resort in Juan Dolio. Arriving several days before the wedding allowed some relaxation time. We decided to rent this beautiful villa and unwind and de-stress. We have a large family, so the villa was perfect allowing everyone to have their own room and bathroom. Martha was a wonderful addition, she took care of our needs and is a wonderful cook. It was a pleasure to go shopping with her and experience Dominican cooking. We enjoyed our experiences and took pleasure in relaxing DR style.
I was concerned about a previous post, but even though we speak no spanish we had no problems communicating with the housekeeper. And these days anyone that is connected to the internet can use a translator website, but we mostly pointed to communicate. The showers do not have pipes out of the walls, they are faucets with a handheld shower head. And the owner has provided battery back up for the basic electric needs for when the power goes out.
We had a wonderful time with family and friends swimming, eating, laughing, and RELAXING!
I rented this villa for my family and I for a week. Pictures don't do this place justice. The house is gorgeous! The pool and beach as well are amazing. Its in very safe place. With security that walk around and assist you. The maid Martha is amazing herself. She is so sweet, a great help, she very loyal, trustworthy and great cook. We miss her already. We went to Juan Dolio for vacation and to experience what its like in a different country. The only little down fall was that the hot water went out on the 4 day. Its hot over there so it didnt bother us. Also luis was very good for returning calls and assisting with what ever you needed and accommodating his renters. I rent in Dominican Republic every year and this was the best house I have ever rented in that country. We would defiantly come back!
What a nightmare my family and I endured in this place the pictures are deceiving and don’t begin to show what your actually getting. My Family and I arrived here and planned to spend a wonderful 13 day trip well that quickly changed soon after we arrived. The night we arrived at 10 pm first level of house looked lovely even upstairs appeared presentable as the pictures show. Within an hour of arriving the electricity in the house went out with only two of 5 air-conditions running a few bedroom lights. We were all so scared English speaking family in a house with a maid who speaks no English and a family who speaks very little Spanish trying to communicate and understand what was going on. The bathroom showers are a worse than jails it is a hose and pipe in a half enclosed wall, not to mention it was freezing no hot water!!!. Too say the least this house is out dated kitchen gas stove you have to light with a match no kettle or microwave like its 2013 that’s to tell you how outdated this villa is. Out dated bathrooms with no real showers or tubs and beds hard as a rock. Not on my worse day could you pay me to stay here. House needs some serious work before being rented to tourists. The owner was very pushy and insisted his house was like the greatest gift from God in Juan Dolio meanwhile he didn’t even apologize for the power outage instead came in like an investigator trying to pass blame. Why do you a/c installed if you know your battery operated house cant support it? Like really get an electrician!! I wouldn’t waste your time and money here.
