|Minimum Stay||5 nights|
The Jungle Beach House is an amazing group accommodation: Three separate buildings with a total of 8 bedrooms can accommodate up to 20/22 persons. Great for large groups, multiple families, reunions, weddings, corporate / educational retreats. This unique place is what vacationing in the tropics is all about.
The Jungle Beach House has its own private walkway to the beach (1 min. walk) so falling asleep to the sounds of surf is a definite. This large property is very private, lushly landscaped and has a swimming pool, covered parking and many great features.
The primary gathering area is in the oldest building, the Rancho, a rustic rancho open to the outdoors with soul. It has a gigantic open air porch complete with hammocks and comfy couches, two bedrooms, a living room, two dining areas, convenient bathroom and a large kitchen.
There is also the newest area: Private Swimming Pool / Cabina compound which contains two private bedrooms with additional loft area and private full bathrooms (mirror images of each other) both are adjacent to the large pool.
Finally, there is the Main Guest House which has 4 bedrooms, including a master suite, complete with central A/C. Two of the upstairs bedrooms include private, rustic balconies that overlook the grounds.
Weekly rental includes 5 day week maid service and our amazing staff will cook breakfast and lunch (guests procures food). In addition to being just steps along a private access to area's the best beach, Playa Guiones, the house is a short walk to several excellent restaurants...Casa Romantica, Gilded Iguana, Kaya Sol and Giardino Tropicale. Both the Super Mini Market and the Frog Pad/NosaraNet (DVD/book rentals & internet cafe) are also just a short walk away: on-site, 40' flat screen TV with DVD player, broadband wireless internet (5mb service - fastest in Nosara) and telephone.
The property has three buildings:
Main House: 3 bedrooms upstairs, 1 bedroom downstairs, all have AC
Master Bedroom: 1 king, private bath, flat screen tv
Bedroom 2: 1 double, 1 single, shared bath with bedroom 3
Bedroom 3: 1 double, shared bath with bedroom 2
Bedroom 4: 1 queen, private bath
Pool House: 2 bedrooms at ground level near pool
Bedroom 1: 1 queen, 1 single, private bath, ceiling fans, good for parents with kids next door
Bedroom 2: 1 double, 1 single, private bath, couch, tv, ceiling fans, good for kids
Rancho: 2 bedrooms, less private more rustic, open air
Bedroom 1: 1 king, 1 double, 1 half bath (toilet/sink - no shower, use outdoor shower)
Bedroom 2: 1 double, 1 sink (use Rancho half bath and outdoor shower)
Rancho has a half bath next to the two bedrooms. Rancho bedrooms are simple but comfortable. They are close to the common space of kitchen, dining area, sitting area and hammocks so noisier if people are hanging out late or kids are getting up early. There are three outdoor showers on the property that Rancho bedroom guests use.
Kitchen & Dining:
Three bars/counters with nine bar stools (can seat nine comfortably)
Two dining tables pushed together can seat 10-12 comfortably.
Industrial three burner gas stove, standard size oven
Two full-size refrigerators
Microwave, blender, rice cooker, toaster, coffee maker
The Jungle Beach House is co-owned by two families, the Robertsons from Georgia and the Yerkes from Vermont. We love Nosara for its beaches, mountains, restaurants and people.
The Owner purchased this estate in 2012
We have travelled all over Costa Rica since we first went to the Osa Peninsula for our honeymoon in 2000. We love so much of the country but we find Nosara to be the standout of the standouts. It's magical and there is no other place like it.
1 minute walk to beach on beautiful, private path. Closest property to beach in area. We are one of only a couple private homes in Nosara that have their own private beach path. 5 minute walk to great restaurants and gourmet grocery store. Ultra Private Pool with swim up seating, adjacent to conservation area. Morning coffee or tea to the sound of nearby wildlife and howler monkeys. Morning walks on the beach; gourmet Costa Rican Breakfast and Lunch, take and afternoon swim in the ocean or pool. Make your day complete with an evening ritual walk to take in the world's most amazing sunsets. After dinner, walk to the beach where you can almost touch the Milky Way with more stars than you have likely ever seen!
The pictures do not do enough to describe these fantastic accommodations. All of our expectations were exceeded. Plenty of space for the entire party of 15. The ranchero was perfect for the whole family to gather and enjoy the delicious meals prepared by Marta. The location afforded all members of our party to choose their own activities from laying on the beach to the adventure of zip lining. We have all fallen in love with Costa Rica and cannot wait to return.
This is the second time I've stayed at The Jungle Beach House. It's a great place for a large extended family to enjoy a quiet, relaxing vacation. The Jungle Beach House had several buildings with bedrooms so everyone had a little space. The most popular bedrooms in our crowd were in the air-conditioned building. The pool house had two bedrooms but no air-conditioning, just fans. It tended to get hot in the afternoon, but the rooms cooled off at night. There was some trouble with biting ants in the pool house, but bug spray helped. There were several "more primitive" beds and bedrooms in the Rancho that had fans and mosquito netting to help protect the occupants from nasty bugs. The on-site pool with the convenient lounge chairs and shade was wonderful and the beach was a short walk from the Rancho. Marta, was a wonderful cook and gracious "hostess" during our stay. She took care of our needs and made suggestions on the best places to purchase food. While her English and our Spanish was limited, the Spanish/English dictionary in the Rancho helped us communicate. The Jungle Beach House is within walking distance to some restaurants, surf shops and a small store and within a short drive to other great restaurants in the area. It helps to have a car when staying there, but there was some "taxi" service available via 3-wheelers. The dusty dirt roads in the area made us glad we had a good air-conditioned SUV and weren't exposed to breathing the dust. Overall, this is a great place to relax. Once you "settle in", it's hard to get motivated to leave the compound.
Recently spent a week a week at the Jungle Beach House in Playa Guiones/Nosara. I have stayed in this area a few times before and this was by far the best property available. This house had everything - great pool, plenty of space, many rooms, beds, AC, two refrigerators, hammocks, etc. And the location is unbeatable. Right down the street from bars/restaurants/stores. And the private walkway to the beach - 2 mins and you're in the sand. Very hard to find a house with all this in Guiones. We were a group of 8 guys. Everyone had their own room or bed. There were still other rooms that went unused. And Marta, the chef/maid/abuela became a part of our group within the first day. She made sure we were always fed before and after surfing, left us lunch and had the place in top condition by 630am. She was unbelievable and made our week incredibly stress free. Setting up the rental with Jamie was a pleasure as well. Definitely recommend staying here for a group of 4 to 20 people. Cant say enough good things about the Jungle Beach House!
Our group consisted of 6 adults and 8 young adults between the ages of 14 and 20. This was our first time in Costa Rica. We arrived in Liberia and our transportation company was waiting to transport us on our 3 hour adventure to Playa Nosara. The area was a bit more remote that we anticipated but the drive gave us a true feel for the country. The second half of the trip was all dirt roads and a little bumpy, but it gave us an appreciation for paved roads upon our return to the States.
The "compound" as we called it was everything we thought it would be based on the photos and description. The tree house was so perfect...
Activities included zip lining which was amazing, even for those of us who were quite a bit hesitant at first. Horseback riding was also a success. Snorkeling didn't work out so great as the boat wasn't really equipped with enough life vests, snorkels, fins, etc... I would recommend doing a good bit of research on the company you use for this or just skip it.
Marta and Andrea were wonderful and greeted us with warm hugs, they even helped up find a baker to bake a cake to help celebrate birthdays and graduations - and celebrated with us.
We felt very secluded yet safe in the compound, very tropical and lush - the beach was amazing and very few people around. Sunsets were amazing as well.
We did rent a car to get us to and from the grocery store, zip lining, etc... which is a must. There is a little store down the street you could walk to in a pinch but the prices are steep. We could walk to a number of really good restaurants from the compound - but don't forget to take a flashlight as there are no street lights to get you back home and it gets pitch black at night.
There was very little shopping for trinkets and such which was fine - it was in no way "touristy" - we all just learned to relax and unwind and really do nothing....walking the beach, surfing, reading, napping, pool volleyball, games, cards, etc... a good time was had by all....
The people were very kind and trusting....the surf board place would only take cash and told us just to pay at the end of the week when we return the boards since we only had a credit card with us at the time. Great experience on all levels...great property....
The funny thing is we were traveling with 5 adults and 5 children (4-8 in ages). We were not sure how this vacation would turn out. Let me tell you when we arrived at the property we were floored, the pictures do no justice. The place is amazing, our kids went crazy in the rancho and all over the property. I am a very cautious person and I felt perfectly safe and very comfortable. The staff Marta and Andrea were absolutley the best, the second they saw all of the kids they were playing with them. Our family really got attached to them, Marta even invited everyone to a 2 year old birthday party, of course we went and had a blast, they made us feel right at home. We are definatley going back next year but stay longer. The beach is a 30 second walk from the house on a private path. The rancho is an open area that has hammocks and couches. Very relaxing.. I have to say it was a perfect vacation..
Highly recommended. Our extended family party stayed from June 19 to 26, 2011. We ranged in age from 22 to 66. The listing description and photos were accurate. The property was well maintained. One of the best points of the property was the staff who cooked breakfast & lunch and maintained the property - they could not have been nicer or more accommodating. While there is not an ocean view from the house, the private walk takes about 3 minutes to get to the Pacific. None of our group surf, but if one were a surfer, this would be an excellent place.
We dealt with one of the owners and the agent in Nosara. Both were delightful to deal with and responsive to requests for info, etc. Also, the locals we met were uniformly friendly.
We were there during the rainy season & it does rain, so a visitor during that time needs to get his head together about the rain and take rain gear.
There are several nice restaurants, including La Luna, which offers fine food and great service right on the beach; and Lagarta Lodge which is perched on a cliff with a killer view of the Pacific coast for miles in both directions. Also, check at the Llagarta for their excellent guided hike through the biological preserve.
The local zip line is a gas.
We flew into Liberia, and had a pleasant drive of about 2.5 hours to the house. The cost of flying to Liberia was significantly more than to San Jose, but has a MUCH shorter drive. Because Delta screwed up the flight on 1/2 of our party and delayed us by one day, if I were to do this trip again, I would fly in a day early and find someplace to stay one night. it was disappointing to lose one day of our vacation to airline BS.
