We built this home with our own two hands and some help from friends as well. It took us five years but the result is very rewarding. We can't spend much time here ourselves so like to have others experience the calming effect of our home.
The Owner purchased this house in 1999
In 31 years of “girl weekends,” for me personally, it was the best one we’ve had. What we loved about it was being in the “woods” with no access to phones, laptops or TV. Getting away together and not having distractions was the original intention of these girl weekend getaways. The house was big, comfortable, clean, well equipped and the “cabin” theme inside made it even more fun. The 2 hour drive from Vancouver was a breeze and it was fun exploring the area (Morton, Mossy Rock) and Mt. Rainier didn’t disappoint, a photographers dream. Thank you Walkers for sharing your home, wonderful memories were made!
We enjoyed our time at this cabin though it isn't a normal cabin as it is huge. There were only three adults in our group, but this play could easily host 6 people as it is probalby 1800 square feet.
The only thing we missed was cell phone reception, internet, and cable tv (which wouldn't be a big deal but we wanted to watch the Seahawks game).
Definitely loved being out in the woods but not far from town. Will definitely be back.
Very pretty and super clean log cabin in the woods. Kitchen is well equipped, beds are all very comfortable. A few notes: NO Wi-Fi and NO cell coverage. The house phone is only for local calls, when we had an issue we had to drive into town to get a cell signal, b/c the emergency contact's were not local calls! The upstairs King bed is not in an enclosed bedroom; it is a large loft, also with the office and futon- this was only an issue when the kids wanted to stay up later and watch TV in the living room below the loft. The stream out back was stagnant water, a little disappointing. BUT we enjoyed our stay!
This is the most well appointed vacation home we've ever rented. Everything was perfect; comfy beds, beautiful decor and an extremely well-equipped kitchen! The house is so well designed to be used--entry area for wet gear, fireplace to get warm, & a patio for warm weather. We had a great time at Mt. Rainier & just relaxing with family & friends.
Our stay at Tilton Woods was precisely what we needed! We were looking for a relaxing place to un-plug and disconnect from the chaos of the daily grind and this home provided that and more. Perfect for a family of four we entertained ourselves with games, reading and family fun. Morton and neighboring towns offered some antiquing and our trip to Paradise atop Mt. Rainier for some sledding was an absolute blast. The fireplace added to the comfort of home and the well stocked kitchen made cooking our favorite comfort food meals very enjoyable. The home is clean, well appointed layout with soaring ceilings adding to the ambiance of the Christmas spirit we were hoping for. Being owners of property and a small cabin in the Olympic Mountains we felt right at home at Tilton Woods. The home provided us with creature comforts we are not used to in our own woodsy paradise. The rental process was seamless and the property managers were a pleasure to work with. Our stay was just perfect! Thanks for this wonderful opportunity.
We came to Tilton to celebrate our daughter's birthday. The house is in close proximity to beautiful lakes and rivers. We ran into some non-welcome mishap in the town of Morton but that made hanging out in the cabin all that much more attractive. The property is secluded and private, off the main road. It has a great kitchen, wonderful layout and was very clean. This is the great house if you're a semi-larger party of 6-8. Thanks also to the hosts, for mailing back our left-behind items!
Rock hounds will love combing the river banks for agates and petrified wood
