About the property

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

We live on this property in a separate house and have a small 7 acre farm. We raise llamas, and fruit and vegetables. We also have 2 horses, 8 laying hens, 2 dogs, 4 cats, ducks and fish in the pond. This is a lovely rural community that is close enough to town to give you the best of both worlds.

The 'cottage' is a 1400 sq. ft. home built on a small hill with garage underneath it. Access to the home can be up the front stairs, up the inside stairway, or drive to the back door and enter up 2 steps.

About Tony and Linda Sexton

We love the mountains of Western North Carolina and the lifestyle of living on a small farm, yet being close to the town of Waynesville and the city of Asheville. We feel that we have a responsibility to care for all of our animals and the land in a respectful manner. We make everyone welcome who visits here. We want them to love it as we do. Our mailing address is Sexton 383 Heath Retreat Rd., Waynesville, NC 28786

Why Tony and Linda Sexton chose Waynesville

It just happened, as we wanted this property to live on, and the second house was a bonus.

What makes this cottage unique

We are close to many recreation areas. Motorcycle riders enjoy the location being close to some of their favorite mountain roads. Fisherman enjoy casting in our pond, and taking a short ride to fish the Pigeon River for trout fishing. Birders can enjoy looking for the many different species of birds that migrate through our area. Folks who want peace and time to relax can lay in the hammock and read or sleep. Commune with the many animals here, horses, llamas, a donkey, chickens, dogs & cats. Deer and turkey often come down from the woods. Hoot owls can be heard every night. Hikers can walk the property, or head out to the Appalachian Trail near by. Almost anything you might want to do, you can find here, or very close by.

Perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect! The property is beautiful and we really enjoyed the animals. The house was very well stocked with everything we needed and more. This is a great location with quick access to hiking trails and the blue ridge parkway. We really enjoyed Waynesville shopping and dinning!

Perfection

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was absolutely perfect! Tony and Linda are super sweet - their hospitality is superb! The cottage has everything you need and was super cozy on the cold winter days. It was a perfect place to unwind and relax with peaceful and beautiful views. The llamas and the horses kept our kiddos entertained and outdoors! We hope to be back soon!

Wonderful and relaxing stay

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time on the farm. Close enough to town to make dinner plans easier and secluded enough to give us the relaxation we wanted, this place was perfect. Our 2 year old LOVED it here. It had the best animals to him (he loves Poppy) and it was the right amount of land for him to walk. Tony and Linda are very hospitable and are respectful of space. It was wonderful. Thank you!

We had a wonderful time on the farm. Mr and Mrs. Sexton were very nice and helpful with anything we asked about. My son loves Charlie Brown - Linda's horse.
