Prettyview Villa at Lambert Beach/Turtle Bay Resort

Bedrooms 1
Property type villa
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Villa, Cottage, Studio, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 1-2)

Prettyview Villa is a one bedroom suite perfect for a couple. She earned her name from one of the men who built her. 'Pretty' in the islands is a state of mind of near perfect well being. As Markee helped set the stout rafters of this home and gazed upon the panoramic view of Guana Island and the expansive Caribbean Sea, he expressed how all was 'Pretty'. Prettyview Villa lives up to her name with all the romance of a West Indian cottage with the creature comforts of a western home.

We based the design and amenities on a five star hotel suite we frequented. The interior is cooled by the trade winds and a 'Casablanca Fan' or if you prefer, a very quiet air conditioner. You can relax and read your favorite book with a 'painkiller', play dominos, or watch a movie from our island DVD collection or Netflix on Roku. The villa has unlimited wifi streaming and a local BVI cell phone is available for use. The house design includes a turquoise clad double shower inside the suite with sparkling glass block and a view of the Caribbean. For extra romance and cleanliness, there is also an outside shower with a clearer view of the sea and just enough glass block for prudent privacy. The Villa also includes a wrap around balcony at the living quarters level and a lower level deck for outdoor eating and sunbathing. There is a full indoor kitchen well equipped for all your culinary needs.

Prettyview Villa is located on a very private 3/4 acre property nestled in the hillside above Lambert Beach sometimes referred to as Elizabeth Beach. It is a short walk to the beach, an amazing and mostly undiscovered powder sand jewel. It is a leatherback turtle nesting site with hatchings each July. There is excellent snorkeling at the eastern end between Lambert and Little Bay, with good shelter created from Guana Island.

The resort has been renamed Turtle Bay and is being renovated. A restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

About Judy Rubino

Judy and Bill manage Palmview and Prettyview from their home in Florida. We have very high standards of comfort, cleanliness, and aesthetics. We are constantly working to improve the gardens as well as the houses.

Judy Rubino purchased this villa in 2009

Why Judy Rubino chose British Virgin Islands

We bought the property in 2002. Prettyview Villa was built in 2009 as a luxury guest house in the same style and comfort as the main house, Palmview Villa. Lambert Beach, in our opinion, is the best beach on Tortola.

What makes this villa unique

Prettyview is a romantic getaway. The sound of the waves crashing on the beach; the rain falling on the metal roof; the cockadoodle doo of the roosters on the other side of the hill; the warm Caribbean breezes; the tropical gardens filled with a large variety of flowers and plants - are all reasons to stay at Prettyview and fall in love all over again.

Relaxing, Very Private, Gorgeous View

  • 5 of 5

We loved this little cottage and the absolutely beautiful view of the ocean, Guana Island, boats, and the beach below. No complaints at all. A couple suggestions. If you rent a small car it is much easier to deal with the narrow, narrow roads and the small parking spot at the villa. We had some trouble finding the place. The police station is a good landmark, but it is not marked as you drive from Road Town. We found it easily after we turned around and came back from Beef Island. Take a good look at the picture of the sign for Turtle Bay Resort. We recognized it from the picture online. Also, there is no house number, so we found it by recognizing the parking spot at the bottom of the stairs. Study the pictures before you go. It is easy to find your way after one drive. Road signs are almost nonexistent. It might be handy to take a GPS (not your smart phone which has no data there) to help find things the first time. The resort is closed, so no pool and no restaurant at the resort. Appears that will be the case for a long time. However, with no one at the resort, the beach is barely used at all. At times we were the only ones there. Chairs and umbrellas available all the time. No crowds. Loved the outdoor shower with the great view. Loved the sound of the surf at night. Altogether, a very nice week.

Fabulous location and all first class

  • 5 of 5

The villa is beautiful and finished with all high end fittings. The outside shower is a great bonus which we loved. Comfy bed. Real nice kitchen and well outfitted. Spectacular views. The resort was closed for rehabbing while we were there so we couldn't use the pool but the upside was we had the beach to ourselves. And that is really huge on Tortola these days. Great location to get anywhere you want. Just a wonderful vacation that we hope to repeat again and soon.

Honeymoon Stay at PrettyView Villa

My new wife and I had a wonderful stay at PrettyView! It is a terrific place to relax, 5 min drive to the most secluded beach on the island, you can use the pool at the resort and eat at the resort restaurant with ease:).

Lovely studio Cottage with an amazing view

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent 10 nights at Prettyview in July of 2015 and absolutely loved it! The place is cute as a button, with plenty of room for the two of us and all our dive gear. The view is jaw dropping, and it's only a 10 minute walk down to the beach.

The location is on the north side near the island's eastern tip - so it's about a 20 minute drive to Road Town. There are a few very good eateries 5 minutes away in East End, if you're looking to go out.

Overall the place is very private, very quiet and out of the way. If you are looking for something close to Nanny Key's Blue Water Divers it's about a 35 minute drive (they are the best dive operator on the island) so places near West End may be more convenient, but none will be nicer or a better deal for the money

Happy reviewer

  • 5 of 5

We loved everything about Prettyview Villa. The views were indeed beautiful and the sound of the ocean waves was very peaceful. We rented a car from Dedee's and went everywhere on the island. We ate out some nights but we did cook at the house and loved that too. It was a great advantage for us to have the out door kitchen, ice chest, chairs and etc. The outdoor shower was my husbands favorite thing - in fact on the flight home he said he was going to put one in for us here at the river. Your information on the day trips and restaurants was very helpful. I think we did everything on the list. We took ferry trips to Josh Van Dyke, Peter Island and Marina Cay. We did take a snorkel trip to Norman Island and did some snorkeling on the beaches around Tortola. The water was a little rough on some days but others was perfect. Prettyview was everything you stated and more, we have friends thinking of renting from you after they saw our pictures. Thank you so much for your home and your help.

ocean view, quiet, comfort and rainbows

  • 5 of 5

We were fortunate to stay for 10 days at Prettyview Villa. And as the name says, the view from this little villa is great—a gorgeous vista of green sloping down to the turquoise and blue sea off Lambert Beach. The outside is beautifully landscaped with plants, flowers, fruit trees and resident boulders. You’ll see hummingbirds or the occasional bannaquit, and at night hear ocean and the ever-present coquí.

Inside this one room villa, surrounded on two walls by sliding doors, you’ll find a quiet, nicely acquitted space. Having a microwave and mini-fridge in the room is very convenient. The sitting space is nice, the Internet wifi is reliable, and there is a large closet with lots of hanging space (though no dresser). The bathroom has two large showers, one indoor (with two shower heads) and one outdoor for when you just want to be closer to nature. The kitchen on the lower level has a full size fridge with freezer and stove, and to be honest, we used it a lot! There are a lot of stairs to reach the villa from the road, as this house is almost literally built into the hillside, so beware if that should be a concern.

The location is great for a couple that want to spend a quiet vacation, as the east side of the island seems much quieter than the west end. We love to sleep, swim, snorkel, read, eat and drink, and this is a great place for that kind of vacation. We found plenty of nice beaches nearby, including a sandy cove (Well Bay) that turned out to be an interesting place to snorkel (we were told we might find starfish, but we found huge crustaceans and upside down jelly fish). Assuming you rent a car, there are a lot of places to visit nearby, Lambert Beach and Long Bay, Trellis Bay (renowned for full moon parties), the aforementioned Well Bay, and the ferry dock that can take you to several other islands, including Virgin Gorda with its fascinating Baths.

We had a wonderful time at Prettyview and would love to visit again. We are recommending it to our friends. We experienced two daytime short rains while we were there, one lasting about thirty minutes and the other off-and-on for two hours. If the rain comes from the east, down the hill, it may likely result in a rainbow out off Lambert Beach… So, to sum up: an ocean view, quiet, comfort and rainbows.
