Great Property and Great Location

  • 5 of 5

The property is in a great location. Walking distance to the French Quarter. The area is quiet at night and well lighted.

The house has all you need to have a perfect stay. I would recommend the property highly.

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

Cute house with an amazing location! There was more than plenty of room for our gamily of 4 and we enjoyed the orifinal details. In the french quarter. Several blocks from the river and the streetcar. Frenchman street is directly behind. Easy walking distance to endless restaurants, bars and shops. Excellent first trip to New Orleans.

Pleasant Interior, and Excellent Location

  • 3 of 5

My wife and I shared this property for a week for our 5 year anniversary. We were pleased with the interior of the house and the location was excellent for doing all activities in the French Quarter and on Frenchmen St. The exterior was ok but the porch swing seemed to be broken. There was definitely a lot of people watching on the porch. You get all kinds being that close to the heart of the French Quarter. We don't usually complain about our stay if things are minimal. However, the reason for only giving 3 stars was we weren't aware that this was a duplex shared with a couple next to us, the main toilet was not in great working order because we had to manually press the lever to fill the tank, the jets on the tub didn't work, there were cracks in the plaster painted walls, the dryer vent was broken, there were a few cockroaches, there was a purple sponge in the old hole for the handle of the front door which was there because the key code lock installed didn't fit and left a gap, the parking situation was very hectic, the second bedroom only had a day bed, and there was only basic cable. The biggest plus was the location, but in our opinion, we overpaid for the amenities we didn't really get. We hope these issues are fixed for the next guests. All in all it wasn't a bad stay. Just a few querks. Thanks for letting us use the place!

Perfectly Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

This house is perfectly situated on the corner of Royal and Esplanade. Everything you would want to see is within walking distance - walk in one direction, you'll hit Bourbon and Royal Street, go the other way and you'll get to Market and Jackson Square, and yet another direction will take you to local bands and restaurants of Frenchman Street. Esplanade Street and the house itself felt completely safe at all times.

The interior of the house was wonderfully decorated in an authentic New Orleans style. Featuring three ornamental fireplaces, a lovely large chandelier in the dining room, fully equipped updated kitchen, comfortable well dimmed living room, cozy master bedroom and updated bathroom with tons of towels. Also being able to access the shared laundry room was a nice convenience.

We spent many evenings sitting on the front porch swing with great neighbors enjoying drinks and taking part in the amazingly fascinating New Orleans' lifestyle that was materializing around us.

Convenient, inviting, and safe!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the house on Esplanade street. We enjoyed being able to walk to the French quarter. Being 4 girls, safety was a huge concern, but this house made us feel completely safe, even to walk to in the dark! If we come back to NOLA we would definitely stay here again!

Spacious, New Oleans felt property

  • 5 of 5

Two of us stayed this property for four nights. The property is spacious with high ceiling, clean and well stocked with supplies. It makes us feel we can live here for a month or so. We felt in love with the house instantly, it gave us a real New Orleans vibe. Since the house is old, some doors includes closet doors could not be closed tightly. But we were not bothered by these as long as the kitchen and bathroom are remodeled. The living room TV was hard to operate, so we did not watch TV. The property is a duplex, I think the other side was a rental too. You can hear next door people walking and talking. Luckily, they were not noisy. The location is convenient and quiet, except the first night due to Mardi Gras. The owner's niece, Carolyn provided excellent customer service, returned my emails most within 5 minutes. Although we did not meet her, everything was handled smoothly and worked out perfectly during our stay. The property is at the east boarder of French quarter, walking to the west boarder, Canal Street of the quarter takes about 20 minutes. We did our walk most of time, and with Uber, there was no need for a car. I definitely will recommend this place to others. Thank you, Carolyn.
