Best view on the island

The pictures on the site, while beautiful, don't quite do it justice. The kitchen and the best views are on the second floor so our family spent most of our time up there. The second floor balcony is perfect for morning coffee and meals in the evening... we LIVED on that porch. The beds were comfortable and the place was decorated wonderfully. The unit is located close to the club house (which has a wonderful lending library and has games and puzzles you can borrow) and the quiet pool. Towards the end of our stay, we started watching the sunset every evening from the lawn behind the clubhouse. It was breathtaking every evening.

Puamana is on Front street but it's a bit of a hike to walk to downtown Lahina. I suggest parking in the public lot just before the Banyan tree.

I loved this home; it was perfect for our extended stay in Maui. I would absolutely stay here again no matter how long the length of our stay.

Overall Experience not great

The condo was beautiful but there were a few things not working. No upstairs lights upon arrival, called Whaler Realty and reset the breaker. Microwave and fan in master bedroom not working. Several calls and emails to Whaler and no resolve. The Condo Assoc. is ridiculous and appears as though they are discouraging renters. I received a knock on the door one night to tell me that I was clocked by a security guard in a golf cart with a radar gun going twice the speed limit of 10MPH. I received what I was told was a warning citation. Received a call the next day from Whaler Realty to inform me to go to the Clubhouse and pay a $50 fine. No disputing it because they are "very strict".Lots of rules posted everywhere and warnings of fines etc. Riding bikes on path $50 for example. The condo was perfectly located and very well appointed but we were turned off by the management company and the "association" several calls and emails made both before and after my citation with no resolve. I would want the owners to know of this as it will undoubtedly affect their rental potential. By the way we were two middle aged couples celebrating a 50th birthday and two of us work for the Dept. of Justice. We did not pay our fine , meet with the General Manager or give them the satisfaction of accomplishing this "shakedown" The fine print in the rental contract basically states that they can automatically and arbitrarily charge your credit card for rule violations. Beware.

Owner's Response: Aloha, We are sorry to see this beautiful property receive a bad review based on a speeding ticket. There are numerous young children riding bikes and skate boards throughout the property especially during the holiday season. Security clocked the car at 25 miles an hour 15 miles an hour over the speed limit. Speed limit signs are posted throughout the property. The security officer is doing his job in protecting both guests and our resident children. Please consider how the security guard would feel if something happened to one of these children. Being a grandfather I hope no one is speeding in the property and my guest’s children and grandchildren are safe when playing in Puamana. I am surprised that someone experienced in the justice system wouldn’t be more understanding. In checking our log all maintenance issues reported during your stay were promptly responded too and serviced. We have maintenance on site offering same day service. Mark - Whalers Realty Management

Wonderful remodel, perfect location

Puamana is a special place, right on the ocean and spread out over many acres. Low rise units were built in 1968 but most have been remodeled - and this is one of the best. Quiet bedrooms downstairs and living space upstairs, with a marvelous full view of the ocean. High quality materials & appliances, plus a good BBQ and two nice lanai's. Can't go wrong with this place.

Awesome

Great condo, steps from the infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Wonderful views of ocean. No sandy beaches here but no problem for us. We rented a car and went to different beaches every day. The surfers were great entertainment here at Puamana though. You can watch them from the condo or the pool. Views were amazing. A/C in bedrooms which helped a lot. It was unusually hot and humid during our week there as three Category 3 or 4 hurricanes were near the islands. Luckily they all missed and shot up north. Only a mile walk to Lahaina, an easy drive too. There was no ocean equipment though (body boards, snorkeling) but we rented our own so not a huge a deal. Overall it was great and we'd stay here again.

Heaven!

64-4 was the best location in Puamana! We actually rented through Whalers Realty but thought we'd post this on VRBO as well. Stayed for a week wth oceanfront views and waves lulling us to sleep. House is newly renovated and tastefully decorated with a beachy island look. We spent our mornings drinking coffee on the wonderful deck with the insane views!

Only complaint would be the sewage work we weren't notified about taking place in front the property. The house was lacking in a few amenties but otherwis it was the perfect week in paradise! We will definitely be back!
