My name is Onjaree. I am from Thailand and have lived in Canada for many years. When I lived in Bangkok, Hua Hin was my family's favourite vacation destination (it still is!). We visited Hua Hin nearly every weekend. So, in 2004, we decided to look for a place to call our own and found this lovely location. Now that we can't visit Hua Hin as often, it's time we share the love for this place so that someone else can find out why Hua Hin takes up such a special place in our hearts.
Onjaree Chongpaisansakul purchased this condo in 2004
Hua Hin is close to Bangkok and the Airport. You can drive to here and don't have to take a second flight. My grandparents live in Samut Songkran, which is located half-way between Hua Hin and Bangkok. We all have been vacationing here for years. And as mentioned it has all of the modern amenities, but is small enough and unique enough that it has a truly Thai ambience. I particularly like the small local restaurants which are very affordable, and serve very tasty Thai Food. Also ease of access to the ocean, the beautiful grounds of this facility, the friendly people, the cleanliness, and the security safety factor. Because the King lives here most of the time, Hua Hin is a very safe City. And if you happen to be a golfer there are 8 golf courses in the surrounding area. All with varying features and levels of difficulty. It is easy to make arrangements to golf here. Reservation, pick up and drop off.
The beautiful grounds, the amazing views, the relaxing swimming pool, the friendly staff, the security and safety factors, closeness to the City and amenities.
Two bicycles are available.
A large new retail/grocery store located within close walking distance, just accross the main road.(Makro). A cross between a Costco and Walmart. Adds to your convenience. A local outdoor restaurant located on the corner, next to the Macro, serves excellent, inexpensive Thai Food.
WiFi is available in the unit as well as at the Lobby and pool area.
We had a fantastic stay. This unit is very spacious, well appointed, extremely clean and comfortable. Kitchen is equipped with anything you need to make a yummy Thai dish- buy your supplies in the new Makro ( Costco style shopping ) or at the market in town.
The sunset views from the balcony are amazing. And what a perfect start of the day to sit on the balcony, enjoy a cup of coffee and watch the mountains in a distance and the ocean as well. While the building is not right on the ocean, it is a mere 50 meters away from the beach and the sea breeze is delicious.
The building is well managed, staff is obliging and helpful, the swimming pool is beautiful, peaceful and refreshing. The beach is lovely ( we saw it only in the evenings when the tide was out, the tides are high in December) but still, what a location. Quiet yet an easy access to town where the action might be by the song taw. Just walk to the main street and wait 5 minutes. Easy and fast.
The night market is interesting, the rest of the town picturesque, (have a schnitzel in one of the German restaurants), beach at Hilton hotel great for people watching. Lots to explore around. Never boring and you always come home away from home to your comfy, lovely place.
The condo is very reasonably priced even if you pay have to pay for A/C, water and cleaning.
There is everything you need. Just bring yourselves.
We are an American, professional, active couple in our 50‘s. We are well traveled. Most transactions are in cash here. ATM’s are plentiful. Bring a debit card!
This is an older building. The staff are polite, accommodating, and spoke more English than we did Thai! We met several vacation renters on this property, and it appears that many apartments are rented to foreigners. The apartment itself is what is pictured, and comfortable. The materials, furniture, fittings, cookware, etc., are basic. If you want luxury, this isn’t it. If you want spacious, comfortable value, this is it. I appreciated the clothes washer. If you bring the drying racks inside, turn on a fan, the clothes dry and they don’t get dusty or smelly. I loved the beautiful pool area. It is easy to do laps in. Electric and water were $86 for our whole stay. Using the economy setting on the a/c’s was sufficient I realized, and less noisy. The walk to the main road from the apartment is 5-10 minutes. Makro, across the street, takes nimble feet. They do not take credit cards. The green songthaew buses are the ones to catch into the center, and then you can catch a connecting one to go further south. Consider a taxi if you want quick and comfortable. Negotiating your own taxi for a day or longer is easy. It’s a network though. One day you may negotiate with a specific driver and car for the next day...next day another driver and car shows up! Beach access is close, but the tides can be unpredictable. Mostly, in the evening, we could walk the beach. White Sands Beach Hotel and Restaurant is to the right. Liked it! The day market in the morning is great! The main night market is the same local, and I would say the same of it. Cicada market, yes! Muay Thai at grand night market, yes! Shopping, nice hotels, restaurants, and massage are abound in Hua Hin. If you want it, you can find it, low to high priced. We liked Asia Herb Association for massage - it is mid level price and western in it's ambience.
We spent a wonderful 2.5 months in the Hua Hin area and this condo made life perfect. Well appointed and comfortable unit with 2 large balconies overlooking the ocean and mountains. Great infinity pool and only 75 meters to the ocean. We spent many evenings walking the ocean (before Happy Hour). The area is very safe even at night for walks. Easy access to the city via little green buses (about every 15-20 min) or tuk tuks and most reasonable prices. Buses are 15 ba one way. Large grocery store (Makro) across the street and many
7-11's in the area. Great massages on the beach. also cheap and we found the best Thai food restaurant in all of Hua Hin just blocks away-it has no name (cross the street, South to Soi 6, turn right, go about 50 meters and its accros the street from the Build Bar). Hua Hin also very safe and the markets, both day and night, are fun to explore. We recommend taking only basic clothing because all is available in Hua Hin at markets with unbelievable prices. If you crave N. American or European shopping or restaurants, there are large shopping malls in the city. Overall a great place to hang your hat.
This condo is exactly as described - spacious, well furnished condo with two great balconies for watching the sunrise or sunset. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking all meals and food shopping is close by. The beach at low tide is wonderful - great for seashell collecting, long walks and swimming. The pool is beautiful, although very busy while we were there and a few more sunbeds would have been appreciated. While it is a distance from the center of Hua Hin, public transportation is easily accessed, frequent and a lot of fun. A very secure building.
Vince, the owner was very forthcoming with helpful information about the area and was flexible when we asked to extend the dates of our stay. A great start to our three months in SE Asia.
The only negative for us was late night music from the local bars which prevented us from leaving the patio doors open at night. Not a problem for those who want to use the air conditioning.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Palm Pavilion. The flat was light and had plenty of space. The furniture was comfortable and there was good wardrobes in both bedrooms. One adult slept on the sun-bed in the sitting room as the sofa was a bit short for sleeping. It says in the advert that it sleeps 6, and there is space for that, but should have had extra mattresses. It was well equipped with towels and kitchenware. The verandas are sunny and hot during daytime but really nice for relaxed evening talks. The sunset over the mountains were stunning and also the sea-view.
The tide was high with big waves when we were there, so we could not swim in the sea, but enjoyed the pool-area.
The staff was very helpful and nice. They did not speak much english, but we had no problem finding our way around.
It is a bit far from town and our young folks would have wanted to be closer to center. The green buses are running frequently though and are cheap.
We found it a really good place for a relaxing holiday and can recommend it to others. Vincent has been very helpful and quick to answer emails in the process of renting. Thank you so much.
Had a lovely stay here. Thoroughly enjoyed the pool as it was so hot and humid when we visited, we had the pool to ourselves the 6 days we were there. Condo was spacious and comfortable but the beds were hard which is normal in Thailand. Felt the linen needs replacing, two sheets on a bed should be a must in a rental property. Would recommend this property for families.
We have available and on site 2 bicycles for local cycling.
Also there is a new Makro grocery/retail shopping store across the street. Also local, and higher end restaurants, all within 100-200meters.
Access to inexpensive local transportation on the street,100meters.
Taxi stand for tours and transportation is just 2 blocks up the street.
Simply a beautiful and well maintained property,200 yards/a super pleasant 200 yard walk thru lush tropical greenery palm trees and blooming magnolia trees to the beach.
