REALLY NICE! close to beach with all the conveniences of home

Ralph was terrific! He was really good at getting back to me each time I had a question prior to our stay. He even let me drop off our bikes early. The place was clean and very well equipped. The kitchen had everything a cook could need including basic spices and coffee! Having more than enough linens and towels was a huge plus. The washer and dryer came in very handy in such hot humid weather. The yard is beautiful and very private. Mornings on the deck were lovely! The beach is really close but parking was tough all week, however, it was really hot and the beaches were more crowded than usual. Super comfortable beds and furniture. Lots of movies to choose from, surround sound and great music system. We really enjoyed having two living areas where adults could enjoy time away from the kids but still keep a close eye on them. Lots of room for everyone. The pool table was a nice surprise as were the large assortment of games. The only down side was the fact that the air conditioning worked hard to try and keep the back bedrooms on the second floor cool with minimal success even with fans in every room, but I have to admit that it was a really unusually hot week! Extra bonus, close to our favorite ice-cream shop, Holy Cow!! We definitely would return!

Great place for a family

What a wonderful week. The house was spacious, clean, and well suited for a family vacation. The hot/cold outside shower allows for most of the sand to stay outside and I think everyone but the grandparents used it most of the week. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pans, and everything I needed for cooking family meals. The deck was wonderful for meals and coffee in the morning as well. We had teenagers with us and not once did we hear, "I'm bored." The beach was-as stated- a short walk down the road. It was quite crowded on Sunday but otherwise was a fairly quiet, family oriented place. The previous reviews are correct about parking, there is literally space for 8-9 cars so if you had small children with lots of beach accessories it might be rough. We have kayaks but needed to rent a couple so everyone could go out together and there was a place to do so right on the breachway. There is also a kayak access right on Green Hill Rd to Green Hill Pond, but I'm not sure if you can access it as there is a sign for "civic members only" and I forgot to ask the owner about it. The house itself had a good selection of movies, and the kids did watch a couple of them in the evenings. Narragansett pier was about 20 minutes away, worth walking around the shops and a good meal out. The owner was readily available via email, and answered several questions that I had in a very timely manner. I would stay here again without any hesitation :)

Beautiful house in southern RI.....

We rented the house for 2 weeks and had a lovely vacation. The house is open and airy with the kitchen, living area, and deck on the 3rd floor. There was usually a breeze off the ocean, but the house has a ceiling fan on the upper floor that kept the air moving. There is not a view of the ocean, but you can hear it at night. The bedrooms were comfortable; a plus is that linens were supplied. There is a TV room on the 2nd floor with state-of-the-art electronics and an internet connection in the office on the 1st floor. We had only one problem the first day when the refrigerator stopped working. The owner responded right away to our phone call. The new refrigerator could not be delivered until 2 days later, but the owner brought over bags of ice and extra coolers, and also, brought some of the more perishable food to keep at a family members house around the corner. To compensate us for our trouble - losing some of the food and the inconvience - the owner kindly took care of the cleaning fee at the end of our stay and reimbursed us an extra $100. when our deposit was returned which was very much appreciated. The only minor drawback was the location - we found that there is little parking availabilty near the beach, so we had to walk from the house ~ 1/2 mile. We did drive our beach chairs, umbrella, etc. and drop them off, but someone then had to return the car and walk back to the beach. The other thing is that a lot of the beach is private for Green Hill Beach Club members. Fortunately, other than the first weekend when a lot of the beach was roped off, there was only one private section at the south end of the beach not accessible. The beach itself was very nice. All in all, this was a very nice place to stay and in a beautiful area of southern RI.

Just as described!

This lovely home is well-maintained and comes with all the amenities described. It is a 10-minute walk to a small beach with great wave action (there are only 8 parking spaces so go early to snag one).

In my opinion, the best attribute of this house is privacy. It is surrounded by a thick hedge row on three sides; a line of trees separates the house from its neighbor on the remaining side. The area was quiet at all times.

Remember your beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. as this is not provided for you (there was a small cooler for use).

The owner is very responsive. He promptly returned my phone calls/emails and our security deposit. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants a peaceful retreat close to the water.
