The charming town of Trapani is the pride of Sicilys west coast. In the last few years Trapani has been restored to its original, architectural splendor. In the majority of its tiny streets, alleys and squares traffic is not allowed and therefore its old town center has become a communal, open air gathering place. On Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the main road between the Chiesa dell Addolorata and Palazzo Senatorio, there are magnificent baroque dwellings. The Cattedrale di San Lorenzo is well-known for its crucifixion attributed to Antoine Van Dyck. The entire area presents a dream-like landscape, offering endless stretches of vineyards that produce the rare and delicious Marsala wine.
