Best time of the year

  • 5 of 5

This is always the best time of the year for my family and I. This year was no different, had a great time in the snow with the kids. First day we arrived there was a fire already lit for use. Awesome! Cabin was very clean, except the inside of the over was a little dirty (burnt pizza). We turned the self cleaning on and in a few hour it look great. This is the 3rd time my family and I have stayed here and I can't wait for the next time. AWESOME TIME!

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review, and glad you had a good time! Sorry about the oven. I do admit that it is a point avoidance with me, as I do not like the chemicals (for medical reasons) and I know someone who lost their home to a house fire started by a self-cleaning oven. So, I clean it only when I feel it is definitely beyond acceptable, which may be a bit more lenient than the perception of others allows. Perhaps I should make a point of enlisting a second opinion, so I appreciate your feedback.

Winter way was wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

A lovely time was had by all. It was very quiet and private during our stay. Loved the porch with the view of the stream and all the trees. The hot tub was great too. We really appreciated the high quality appliances and furniture. It was so nice that wood was provided for the fire. The VHS selection was a little odd but we enjoyed it a great deal nonetheless! Would come again.

Owner's Response: Ha! Yes, the VHS selection is a bit odd. It started with several donated westerns, was significantly supplemented by donated children's movies, and has been changed somewhat by various trade-ins and trade-outs over time. Perhaps it is eclectic? Glad you had a good time!

Absolutely peaceful!!! Cute, cozy and an overall happy experience!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is in a very peaceful location surrounded by peace and silence except for the sound of the nearby river. It was equipped with everything we needed for an enjoyable stress free stay. I cannot say enough about the location other than it was perfect. The owners made sure everything was in place and we were left to are own serenity.

Two very very very minor complaints. The beds were a little uncomfortable. Also, the hot tub started out nice and warm but when we went to use it the next day it was down to 92 degrees. We were kind of bummed as it would have been perfect after a hard day of hiking. A suggestion would be to have instruction about how to get it working properly. I won't let those 2 small things detract from an otherwise wonderful experience. The owners deserve a great big thanks!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your detailed review. So glad you enjoyed your stay. And thank you for feedback on minor concerns. Although we have recently received reviews noting the positive comfortability of the beds, I have also noticed a pronounced dip in one of the mattresses. This is slated for replacement and just a matter of obtaining and installing a new one. The hot tub can be tricky because alternate pushing of the light and jets buttons sends it into sleep mode; it does not heat during sleep mode and it seems to be quite common that we find it has been accidentally changed to this setting. For this reason, we have a laminated instruction sheet handy on the shelf next to the tub and I will check to make certain that it is still there. Hope we will see you again!

Nice traditional cozy cabin.

The fireplace comes with all the wood you need for your stay, which is nice. The kitchen was well stocked to make your meals. You feel at home at this cabin and kids love it too.

Fun at the Winter Way

  • 5 of 5

Dear Winter Way Owners,

The pictures do not do the cabin justice, being a life long wood worker and building designer I was impressed with all the details of the interior of the place. The wedges in the door trim as well as the different color stains used caught my eye gave me joy every time I gazed at them. We appreciated the fact that the cabin was pet friendly. Not many cabins will take pygmy goats. Again, our apologies for the upholstery. Who would have thought two small goats could eat all that furniture in so little time?

The hot tub was lovely. A great way to relax after cleaning up the cabin after the a fore mentioned goats.

We also enjoyed the outdoor deck. In hind site, I shouldn't have shown the teenagers the snow door in the railing. They thought it was a good idea to ride your beautiful 6 burner range down the the snowy slope behind the cabin. Please rest assured, the teens were made to put the range back and were chastised severely. It does no good to yell at the goats however.

We hope to stay at your wonderful cabin again!

All the best,

The Nelsons

Owner's Response: Ha! Thanks or the humor! I want to point out to other prospective guests that our furniture was not eaten up or damaged, and if you did bring goats (which I doubt), we certainly saw no signs of them. Our range also shows no signs of having been ridden down the slope. Thanks much for your notice and mention of the wood interior, trim details and colors. We like it too! Hope you can come again .... maybe minus the goats :)
