About Alexandra Thayer

We are four sisters who have spent our summers in this special place. We know once you stay there you will want to come back time and time again.

Why Alexandra Thayer chose Lake Winnipesaukee Area

This property was passed down to us from our dad. We grew up in this house as children during the summer and have all raised our own children here. There is a special feeling about the house, as you will see when you stay here - full of life, love and many laughs and of course we always say good morning to Mr. Moose. We have had some wonderful times here and continue to do so. As a bonus, hearing the loons at night as you sit on the deck is something you will always remember. We know you will love our home as much as we do.

What makes this house unique

We all agree that our favorite memories are of family and friends eating lobster dinners on the porch while looking at the beautiful view of the lake!

Guestbook comments from the manager

We really love the Lake House; it is one of the best cottages we have stayed in over the years. We also were happy to deal with a family like yours instead of a rental agency. It makes a big difference.

You care about your renters which we could tell right away. We really felt it when we mentioned our displeasure with the beds in the fifth bathroom the first time we stayed here, as the next summer there were comfortable mattresses in that bedroom. I believe that you mentioned that they were new.

We have been coming up for 5 years and love the Lake House.

We are from Whitman, MA.

Macdonald Clan family vacation

  • 5 of 5

Great weather, great place to relax and reconnect as a family. We all loved it for the third year. Celebrated a 13 year old's birthday and a high school graduation with cakes and lobsters and clams and all the fixings. So comfortable to all of the family members. Thanks for taking such great care of this old lake house treasure.

Great Family Vacation Location

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently sold our lake house on Winter Harbor in Wolfeboro and we missed the Lake so much we had to return to the area for an early autumn vacation. The charming home reminded us of our former summer home and we felt so comfortable. Our children and grandchildren joined us for the weekend. Despite the weather, we all enjoyed kayaking, taking boat trips around the lake, and even swimming in October! A very special stay that our family will remember fondly.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind review. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay. The Lake House is one of the few original homes in the area and it holds many years of family memories- ours and now yours. We hope you will come again in the future.

I can only imagine

  • 5 of 5

While we could only stay for a weekend, I loved this place. It was so easy to transport myself back 50 years to a time when my family would take summer vacations to lake resorts and cabins where we would lay on a pier, swim, fish, read and just relax. We kayaked and if we had more time having a boat or pontoon would have been great. The lake house is property is beautiful and town is quaint.

Great Home and Area on the Lake to Stay

  • 5 of 5

Wolfeboro, NH is a great town on the lake to stay and Winter Harbor is peaceful and quiet. The house is very spacious with plenty of area to relax and enjoy your getaway. My stay was a fishing trip with six people and three boats and there couldn't have been a better house to stay at for our purpose. I have stayed at many different homes over the years for our fishing trip and this house was one of the best we have stayed at. I plan to go back next year.

The Perfect Lakeside Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

To celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary, we decided to invite our children and grandchildren up to the lake for a week's vacation. The house was so reminiscent of long past summers spent at the lake with our children (now grown) and delighted the grandchildren. There are so many places for everyone to spread out, it never seemed crowded. The waterfront was great and renting a boat so the children could water ski and tube was perfect. The kayaks were in constant use as was the raft. Wolfeboro is just up the road. The view is so peaceful and beautiful. The house had everything you needed and the fireplace and Mr. Moose were an added extra! Our family really got a chance to relax and reconnect. It was a vacation to treasure and remember. We hope to do it again! We highly recommend it.
