Luxury Oceanfront Condo: Wifi, Pool and Linens Included

Welcome to 'A Place at the Beach'. A Luxury Oceanfront, Non-Smoking, 2 bedroom condo in Carolina Beach, North Carolina. You can smell the ocean air you are so close in this 3rd floor, direct oceanfront unit.

The homeowners association does not allow pets on site, sorry.

The pictures say it all but I will try to describe some of the best features. Highly desirable location, property books quickly during peak season.

This is a much sought after 3rd floor unit which makes it a highly desirable location in a modern building. There are no units above you and you have a great view from the oceanfront balcony. Both the master bedroom and living room open to a beautiful oceanfront deck with 3 colorful adirondack chairs. The condo has a central air conditioning system, beach style living room furniture and a 43' flat screen TV with a DVD player. The condo is nicely decorated with fun beach touches throughout and is a fantastic place for a family vacation or a romantic getaway.

This quiet building has its own private pool surrounded by palm trees. The pool features a fun colorful theme, lounge chairs, picnic tables and three sun umbrellas. The pool is open for swimming from May 15- October 31. There are secure rinse-off showers on the ground floor and a coin operated laundry room for your use. Located within the condo are beach fold-up chairs, a cooler, some buckets and shovels, a boogie board and noodles for the kids; so there is no need to haul all that stuff on top of your car. The condominium is 1/2 mile north of the Boardwalk which feature seasonal rides for the kids, numerous shops and restaurants, fireworks on Thursday nights and Sunday movie night at the lake. Just blocks from the condominium is the Marina with daily departures on fishing charters, sunset cruises, dinner cruises, and boat rentals.

As a mark of quality 50% of my bookings are from repeat guests or referrals. I take pride in a providing a clean quality condo for your enjoyment. I hope to see you at the beach this year.

If your party is more than 4 to 6 people, we also manage the listing next to this unit, Homeaway #3859638.

Renewed and Refreshed

  • 5 of 5

We felt like we were right at home in this cozy condo.

The view from the balcony is amazing and we enjoyed the dolphins in the morning with a cup of coffee, and the stars at night with a glass of wine.

The location is great and close to many restaurants and a fabulous yoga studio.

We enjoyed a great afternoon at Ft Fisher and a day in Wilmington.

When our grandchildren came to visit there is a lake with a neat playground and picnic area. We also hiked at the State Park that is very close by and the kids enjoyed the hands-on displays inside the information center. We spent a lovely day in Southport via ferry as well.

The condo was well stocked and we needed nothing. The convenience to the beach and sand made life so easy. We got lots of walks in, and the kids loved the sand. Lots of sand toys in the condo and chairs for additional ease.

Bill and Jenn were great to work with, and we would highly recommend this condo

A Place at the Beach

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely time staying in this condo. The view was wonderful, and the location was great! However, there were some small issues. We had a lot of trouble trying to lock and unlock the front door, not all of the outlets worked, and the wifi would randomly disconnect. Even with these minor troubles, my family and I still had a wonderful time and we would definitely stay again!

Wonderful vacation, can't wait to return!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I along with our 3 kids truly enjoyed our stay in this condo. From the moment we opened the door, we were blown away by the view. It was by far my favorite part about the condo. I also agree with the review below about the pool being such a great asset, my children absolutely loved swimming there. I saw a few reviews with people talking about the condo not being clean and the week were there this was for sure not a issue, it was cleaned well for us. we just ended up bringing our own sheets as well bc I didn't want to bother with trying to wash before we left. The access to the beach was so easy and the beach itself was super clean and beautiful. The boardwalk was a ton of fun for the kids. We went on family night so braclets were only 20 dollars a kid. Little pricey for sure, but they rode rides for hours so it was worth it. Brits donuts are a must, however if you would like a true sugar coma then visit Wake N Bake donuts right next to the Food Lion grocery store. Super yummy as well! After eating all of that junk, it didn't bother us to walk up and down all those stairs to reach our condo. 😉This was our first visit to Carolina Beach and we are already talking about renting this place again for next summer!

Great location and pool

  • 4 of 5

The beachfront location is fabulous. This was our first time in Carolina Beach and were really blown away at how clean the beach was, the water clear, the sand powdery soft! The stairs to the third floor were worth it because of the view from the balcony. Having access to the balcony from the master bedroom was great. Sit out there and soak it all in in the mornings watching the sunrise and twice saw dolphins in the ocean before the kids woke up. The furniture and bedding were very comfortable, the kitchen stocked adequately with dishes/pots/pans/utensils. As mentioned in previous reviews, we had to make the beds when we got there, but it didn't bother me. One thing that did bother me was being asked to (not required, but was asked to) wash the linens before we left. If there was a washer and dryer in unit, no problem, but the first floor laundry was $2 to wash and $2 to dry! Seemed a little expensive to me. The pool is one of the best things about this property. While we were exploring the area we noticed that there are very few oceanfront properties that have pools, and we were traveling with 5 children (my sister and her family stayed in the condo next door, same owners) who greatly enjoyed the pool. The only thing I can really complain about or say I disliked about the property was the cleanliness of one bedroom and the kitchen. The bedroom that my kids stayed in had a strong odor of smoke. I don't know if the previous weeks renters smoked in that room or not? I just kept the door to their room open and the fan constantly on. The kitchen...dishes not clean, again, could be fault of previous renters. The kitchen floor seemed to always be sticky or have a residue on it. Now the kitchen is the room where you enter and exit the condo, so of course you're bringing sand in, dripping water on the floor, etc. I did sweep the floor daily or twice daily with broom and dustpan to try and keep the sand cleaned up. One thing I cannot be ok with though, is dead cockroaches in the kitchen (floor and cupboards), and in the outdoor hallways of the condo unit. I read in a previous review about bugs and the owners had responded that the units were sprayed for bugs, so maybe that accounts for the stickiness of kitchen floor? Bugs I saw were dead, but they were not there and then they were 10 mins later, so they had to have crawled in alive at some point. Just really grossed me out. Other than that issue, our stay was great and I would consider returning!!

Owner's Response: We always appreciate reviews and happy to host families that enjoy their stay. Thank you for the kind words. We wanted to briefly address the issue with bugs. Being in a humid climate, crazy rain storms, and being on the beach with people in and out of the unit sometimes a bug or two say hello. We have the best Pest Control on the beach and spray all summer long. I would like to mention to all past and future renters, this is not normal behavior for A Place At The Beach. As for the smoke, the unit is a NON SMOKING unit and if we discover renters smoking we do address it! Previous renters could smoke outside and then end up sleeping in the room which causes smoke to linger. With any venue, lingering smoke can happen and we are so sorry it did. When we clean we make sure to open the windows and clean everything if it were to smell. These are issues that we are happy to address and mention to our cleaning staff in the future. We believe in being proactive and not reactive. Thanks again for your time in reviewing "A Place At the Beach."

Good but not great

  • 3 of 5

The accomidatkons in out condo were great. I just had a few concerns. First the cable is terrible. I know that most people don't watch tv but with 2 young children we would watch in the morning and sometimes after dinner. It kept glitching/skipping and the guide always said not available or channel will be available shortly. Also the cleaning was terrible. There were bugs some dead and some alive all over the condo. Dust all along the walls and I was not aware we had to put the sheets on the beds ourselves. I did not plan to drive 10 hours to dress my own beds. I did not mind pulling the sheets off at the end of the week. I did enjoy the view from the balcony and the attractions that Carolina beach offered.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We always appreciate honest comments for our viewers to see. I wanted to write back to ensure future travelers that our properties are clean and well maintained. In regards to the cleaning, I spoke to our cleaning employee and she mentioned that the group arrived several hours earlier than the stated arrival time on the arrival documentation. She felt pressure to get the cleaning done asap and probably missed some spots because of people waiting to get in. They had just done pest control and what happens the bugs come out and die. Unfortunately, we have to do pest control living in such a warm climate right on the beach. Pest controls happens about once a month to ensure that "live" bugs aren't roaming around the unit. I wish we would have known about the cable. We have someone there that could have come over to the unit and make sure it was working for you. We always ask our guests to call us immediately if they are not happy with someone or if something is not working properly. We can't fix it if we don't know about it. Again, please come back and we can definitely address all the concerns made in this review. We strive to make our guests fall in love with "A Place At The Beach," and want to do our best to make this happen. Jennifer and Bill

We loved A Place At the Beach! It was definitely our home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our condo, A Place At the Beach, and were pleasantly surprised to find that it was more than we expected! It was really our home away from home. This was our first experience with VRBO and proved to be very helpful. Our owner, Bill, couldn't have been nicer and any questions we had he responded back very promptly. Our little home was very clean and cozy. It was completely stocked with anything & everything you could want. Our views were beautiful looking out from our living room & the master bedroom windows. We were down at A Place At the Beach for almost all of the month of February, which of course, is not beach weather but still a nice change from New Jersey weather. Carolina Beach is a real nice town with shops, great places to eat and nice parks to walk or hike around. You can also take many day trips if you are looking for a change such as going to Wilmington, visit forts and the Aquarium. All our trips were wonderful. If you are looking for a relaxing, homey, clean home away from home, A Place At the Beach is the place for you!
