We loved our stay at the cottage. It is beautifully decorated and very well appointed. The layout was perfect for our family of four. Such a wonderful retreat close to the cute shopping area of Mill Valley. We would love to stay again!
This was the perfect place for my siblings and I to stay as we visited our mother in Mill Valley. The rental is just as advertised. Very nice, clean, and charming. Walking distance to downtown (about 10 minutes walk) and hiking trails. Parking was available in the slots by the driveway about half the time and the other half we had to park at the bottom of the lane and walk up. Not at all a problem for us but might be for anyone with mobility issues. (Also a very steep driveway that would be difficult for anyone elderly or otherwise compromised in their mobility.) met owners very briefly but they were hands off the rest of the time. We will definitely consider staying here if it is available next time we visit.
The cottage in Mill Valley was perfect and exactly as described. Our family found it to be very clean and comfortable. It was conveniently located for our exploration of San Francisco, Muir Woods, and Point Reyes National Seashore. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Katy was very easy to work with, and very accommodating. Thank you for a great stay!
If you are looking for a quiet retreat then the Mill Valley Cottage is just the place, it is beautiful! Very clean and comfortable and such a unique setting! We loved the neighborhood and all the amenities that the cottage had to offer. I would highly recommend it! Katy was a gracious host and made us feel right at home. This was a perfect home base for exploring San Francisco and Muir Woods.
We had a wonderful time at Katy's cottage. We are a family of four and the set up was perfect for us. There is a landing that works as a second bedroom where both kids slept and a garden for them to play in. The cottage was really well equipped, modern, newly renovated and really clean. It was very comfortable and we couldn't have faulted it. The location was perfect, just 15 minutes walk from Mill Valley village. Katy was really accommodating and left us a lovely bottle of wine. Highly recommend this accommodation. Thanks for a wonderful stay Katy!
Our family of 5 had a fabulous get away at this cottage. Looks better than pictures show. Comfortable, well equipped, clean, quiet, and peaceful. Would highly recommend for a couples get away or family. I'm OCD about cleanliness and have a hard time staying in strange places, but no issues here!!
Owners were great to work with. Accommodated any requests we had. Even though you share the property with their residence they gave us space and freedom to dine on grass patio set in solitude.
Location is perfect. .7 mile walk to charming Mill Valley with cafes and restaurants. Base of Mt Tam with loads of biking and hiking trails. Definitely an outdoor enthusiasts destination. Or a book worms retreat. This area is all hills, so come ready for that. No flat trails unless you go to the waterfront. Which we did and biked to Sausaluto for lunch. But not from the cottage, drove to flats.
More serious comments: second room is a loft that connects stairs to downstairs kitchen & living space to the upstairs bathroom and bedroom, not a separate room. Small, but beautiful bathroom. Parking can be challenging as its on a narrow road. We had no issues but our Suburban barely fit in this cozy town. Ice maker didn't work, but hosts brought a bucket for us. Couldn't get AC or fan to work, but you really don't need it in this area. Slept with windows open and enjoyed the cool breezes and birds chirping.
