In the trendiest, artsy section of Washington DC, on the edge of Dupont Circle, U Street and 14th Street - all examples of Pierre L'Enfant's vision for the city, great avenues radiating off small parks like spokes on a wheel, we offer the best value in furnished apartments, truly a home away from home: just bring your clothes.
We offer this beautiful furnished apartment with availability throughout the year.
This is a one bedroom apartment with one bathroom on the first floor of historic Art Deco building. The apartment was gutted this year and has an architect designed gorgeous kitchen with Italian white glossy self closing cabinets, Viking range, Miele dishwasher and fully stocked with all pots, pans, knives and dishes to cook gourmet meals. The new luxury Carrara marble bath has a jacuzzi deep soaking tub and heated floor. There are beautiful new hardwood floors throughout. The apartment is only steps from world class restaurants, avant-garde theaters, trendy cafes and the best shopping this city has to offer. The apartment is decorated with passion and attention to detail: classic modern furniture, color coordinated organic sheets, rugs, cotton linens, kitchen and bath ware. There is original artwork on the walls. There is wifi and Direct TV with all movie channels.
The building features outdoor seating patio with a new stainless grill, washer and dryer (shared in the basement) and close proximity to Metro - only block and a half away.
Whole Foods and Yes Organic supermarket are just minutes away on foot.
Garage parking is available near our unit for $20 to $30 a day.
Street parking is by permit only between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. We can get visitor's parking pass for you from a local police station for $40 for the stay, and you can park, day and night, on the street. The parking pass is for zone 1, so any street marked zone 1 on the signs is fine (quite a large area). Please note that during the season the streets get cleaned -please read signs clearly and visibly posted on each street when you must move your car for street cleaning.

Hi, originally from Prague, Czech Republic, Washington DC has become my second home twelve years ago when I came to study at Georgetown University. I live in this wonderful city with my two boys Alexander and Christopher, only few blocks from the rental property. We spend every weekend at a museum (Air and Space is the favorite), hiking through Rock Creek Park or on a fifty year old carousel in front of the Smithsonian Gardens and we hope that all our guests enjoy this vibrant city as much as we do.
Eva purchased this apartment in 2009
As a single mom I need to provide for my two boys. I love to travel and so do my kids. Most of the time I travel out of DC and the situation helped me see that just as I love to leave the city and to explore other places, there are people who come to visit DC to spend time with their families. My two boys, my family, are the best critics of any place, as no furnishings are safe from their play and no vase is sacred to them. Our places are luxurious but ready to be used. I understand what most travelers need to feel comfortable since I have traveled extensively around the world to Africa, South and Central America, Asia and Europe . Please come and share your vacation time in our home. I promise that we will do our best to make you feel comfortable. This is the reason I bought my rental property.
From our apartment in the heart of Dupont Circle the access to all the tourist attractions, world famous restaurants, great bars and the biggest selection of privately owned galleries is just steps away. The metro stop is only a block and a half away, next to Starbucks. The 14 Street buses run directly downtown from our bus station at the end of the block; every two minutes during rush hour and every six minutes other times. The White house, The Mall and The Smithsonian Museums are less than a mile away; about fifteen minute walk or few metro stops.
Perfect for 2 people. Walk to several very good restaurants, bars, stores, Trader Joes & bakery. We walked to the sites taking a different route each day to enjoy the architecture. It did get very noisey the 1st 2 nights, don't know what that was all about, but otherwise the apt. is clean & fresh with full kitchen, washer & dryer in basement.
A fantastic place! Close to the metro, great restaurants and shops. Had a great stay.
My husband and I stayed for 6 days while touring DC.. This apartment has a wonderful location..just three blocks to the U Street Metro line with accessibility to all sites in DC. The neighborhood was safe and vibrant. There is a Trader Joes jut one block away and so many restaurants to choose from. The apartment is very comfortable. Great bed and that jet tub was a wonderful extra after hours walking in the city. The kitchen is very nice and great appliances. We ate in a few nights and cooking and clean up were easy. The apartment building is quiet and very clean. Eva was responsive and very welcoming. Would stay here again and again..
Based on descriptions/reviews and initial contact our expectations were high, but this was our least pleasant rental out of many. We started with a five block walk mostly along U Street from the subway at night; the "up and coming" neighborhood has a long way to go before it can be considered in line with Dupont Circle - which is a lot further away than represented. Upon arrival, we noted that there was a strange smell throughout the hallway and apartment. The next evening we discovered that mice were roaming around the apartment (at this point we had not brought any food in). When we called Eva about this, she told us she was busy so we should go to the hardware store and buy some mousetraps. We did not have time or interest in dealing with rodents, so upon further conversation she sent her cleaning person (who does not speak any English). The cleaning person brought pellets that she placed under the sink, and some poisonous spray which she sprayed throughout the hallways, and we had to leave the apartment for some time. There was no vacuum or broom available so we couldn't get the pellets out... two days later Eva managed to have the pellets removed, as they stank and were giving us both headaches in the little time we spent at the apt. Eva said she was going to bring mothballs (how do these help with rodents?) and we asked her not to as I'm extremely allergic to cedar. She left some plastic mousetraps. The next day we were shocked to arrive at the apartment mid-day to find the cleaning person leaving our apartment with a box and bag. When we questioned her she told us that she had just put mothballs in the apt!?! She had actually put them under cabinets where we couldn't have seen them, but the cedar would have made me very ill had we not happened to arrive right then. When we mentioned this to Eva, her response was less than satisfactory. Meanwhile, yes the bathroom is mostly marble, but is the size of a small closet and the radiant heat only works on two square feet. The wall, ceiling, and shower curtain are somewhat moldy. The "Italian cabinets" are really Ikea. The furnishings and most of the fixtures are either Ikea or used, with dirty drawers and some falling apart. The sheets were heavily used and stained, need replacing. There are window fans that create huge drafts and couldn't be removed. The chrome stools were too short for the counter. Description was exaggerated, needs more work.
The location of this unit is hard to beat, within walking distance of groceries, restaurants, and the Metro. The unit is small, like most urban apartments, but functional and attractive. The kitchen works well for one cook, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was better than average. Eva was always helpful and quick to respond. We would certainly stay here again.
Everything was perfect at this location. The place was very clean and everything worked properly (not always a given in a rental propery). The location was excellent and on beautiful quiet street but in one the cool trendy neighborhoods and right around the corner from Trader Joes, restaurants and very close to the metro. Eva was also very flexible in letting us keep our luggage there during the day as we had a later flight. No complaints and would definitely return there! One of our better experiences with renting on VRBO and we have lots! Thanks Eva!
