Wonderful and quiet!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this lakefront home the week of our sons graduation from Notre Dame and we were thrilled with the location (25-30 minutes from campus) as well as the house itself. The core group included grandparents, parents and siblings of the graduate (8 people, ages 74 to 9). The location is peaceful and beautiful; swans and blue herons on the lake, Baltimore Orioles visiting the huge deck daily, no immediate neighbors and the house had all we needed and more (although bottled water for drinking purposes is recommended). We hosted a small party for the graduate and his roomates and the large side yard, deck and lake suited this purpose very well. We enjoyed fishing (brought our own rods) and boating on the lake. The homeowners had a few yard games (bocce and corn hole toss was a hit!) available. Not any really close grocery store, but as we were in and out of South Bend a lot, we were able to pick up supplies within 20 minutes of the cottage. We could have easily slept a few more people in this house, too. The beds were quite comfortable and the great room area was nice for all to "hang out". I would love to come back and just enjoy the peaceful nature this cottage has to offer as well as explore the areas north and west of the cottage! Maybe in the near future!

Great Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Sandra was great to work with. We really enjoyed our stay at the lake. Everything you need is there, well stocked even a lot of "extras" you don't usually see in rentals. Looking forward to our next stay!

Wonderful Time

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time as 3 families with kids. Nice and clean house it has everything you need, lake is beautiful try to catch with up sunrise. Sandra was very helpful as well. Rowboat and canoes are big plus. Yes

seaweeds are everywhere (in the lake) but there is a small sandy beach for kids. And hey, if weeds are big problem for you, it is 20 minute away from Sandy Lake Michigan beach (New Buffalo). Over all 5 star.

Great house on a very private lot

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great time in the lake house. It is big and cozy and clean, most importantly it is very private- no neighbors in the vicinity, absolutely loved it! There is stuff to do for everyone- slides for kids, sandy beach, fishing boats and a canoe, tons of games on the lower level. On a rainy day you will definitely not be bored- pool table, poker table, darts, train table, toys, just to name a few! Please note there is no Wifi, which in our case was actually a big plus... it is hard to peel the teenagers off all their devices no matter where you are! For those will small kids, there is a beautiful crib and a high chair. My kids really enjoyed a bunk bed as we do not have one at home. Our room had a queen bed and a trundle day bed which is great for those with the kids that are not comfortable sleeping in a a separate room when not at home. Feels like the owner thought of it all! The kitchen is fully staffed (coffee maker, toaster, pots and pans, spices, coffee, tea etc.) you do not need to bring anything, just the food. Wonderful time and a great house, we can't wait to come back!

This was our 2nd annual 3 family vacation and we voted on a 3rd. We love the house, the lake, the sandy area for the kids and the quiet and privacy of this place.

We range in age from a 3 yr old, 5 yr old, 2 - 18 yrs olds, 2 - 21 yr olds, 2 - thirtysomethings, 2 - fiftysomethings, 2 - sixtysomethings. NO one is bored at all. We took trips to St. Joes and New Buffalo and to Four Winds. We ALL had a great time.
