Perfect for a Family

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a week while exploring the Pictured Rock National Lakeshore, and it was the perfect spot for our family. The loft is a fun place/space for kids to sleep and relax. Plus, the sandbox under the deck was a great spot for a toddler to play. Note, there is a drop from the sand to the cement below, so supervision is definitely needed. However, we would've been outside with a toddler anyway, so that was not a problem. The house was well stocked with all we needed, including paper products, which was a nice bonus for picnics we packed. The location was private and peaceful within quick driving distance from area attractions, including Munising and Marquette. The Au Train river is nearby and flows into Lake Superior where there are sandy beaches. It's the perfect spot for swimming, canoeing and kayaking with numerous hikes within driving distance. This is a beautiful, cozy cabin we would recommend to other families who enjoy outdoor activities and exploring nature.

Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

We arrived late on Saturday but had no problems getting in or finding the cabin. It was very cozy and had plenty of room for 4 people. The kitchen was well stocked and the DVD library was huge. We also really appreciated the wifi on site. Only a mile from Lake Superior, kayaking and swimming. Five stars for this stay.

Wonderful cabin

  • 5 of 5

We had the absolute best time. The cabin was so well stocked. So clean. So close to the beautiful beach. Absolutely everything we wanted. We enjoyed pictured rocks, kayaking, hiking, ATVing, bicycling, fishing, the beach, wineries and breweries, good food and exploring the nearby towns from this adorable cabin. Wayne was great to work with as well, answering my questions by email or phone very promptly.

A cozy log cabin in a great location of Michigan's UP

  • 5 of 5

The cabin's porch was fabulous- great for relaxing and it provided shelter on rainy days. The location of this place makes it ideal for those who are interested in exploring the many waterfalls, hiking trails, and beaches of Michigan's upper peninsula. It's also very close to Munising- where the Pictured Rocks can be enjoyed. A wonderful beach along Lake Superior is only a short drive, and the AuTrain river keeps it warm- not typical for Lake Superior! The cabin was stocked with all we needed to relax after our adventure- filled days. The loft was perfect for our kids, giving them a spot to hang out in the evenings. The decor is typical for the area; it was clean and not fancy, but just right. We loved the fact that the owners keep items available for use, such as condiments and cooking spices. Very helpful! A place out family would come back to for sure!

The location was great for visiting the Munising area. The cabin itself was wonderful! From the moment you pull in the driveway and open the front door - it will take your breath away! Thanks for sharing it with us!
