Overview

About the property

Villa, 6 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 4.5 Baths, (12 Beds-Sleeps 20 Comfortably)

Osa Peninsula, as National Geographic put it, one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth, we have your perfect private 8500 sf Villa Estate, that sits on 25 acres of Primary Rain-Forest. The Villa has a personal chef and kitchen staff to cook all you meals just how you want them. A full time onsite Masseuse is always available for a relaxing Massage or Spa Treatment anytime you want it, from the comfort of you suite or patio. The Pacific Ocean stretches out to the horizon. In the distance, one can see the tip of Panama across the Gulfo Dulce. Behind you are hundreds of acres of primary forest teeming with wildlife. Below are magnificent beaches with some of the best fishing and surfing the world has to offer. It's only a short hike down our path.

Built over 500 feet above the sea, Tres Palmas catches the cooling tropical breezes coming from the Gulfo Dulce and Pacific Ocean. The sound of the surf rolling in the distance, scarlet macaws calling to their mates, while howler monkeys cavort overhead, lull you into a sense of harmony with nature.

In the midst of this spectacular setting, a secluded and exotic house has been built in modern Spanish style under a massive artificial palm thatched roof. We used the artificial thatch to give it the look of real palm thach with none of the problems.

The area was once home to the Brunca Indians that settled in southern Costa Rica and the western part of Panama. Pieces of native pottery can be found by those that care to look. The Indians considered this a holy place and many who stay here find a spiritual peace that is quite uplifting.

Our property is home to four types of monkeys, hundreds of bird species including tucans and scarlet macaws, sloth, iguana, anteaters, and a myriad of other animal species. Plant specimens are varied and abundant. This magical place offers the rare opportunity to experience nature at its most spectacular and unspoiled.

Perfect paradise in every way imaginable !!

Left on Feb 15, 2016 for a stay in Jan 2016

Just returned from a 14 night stay at Tres Palmas. Group of 16 that consisted of 4 families of 2 adults and 2 children (There were 6 girls 8-11 and one 14 years of age plus one boy 10 years of age). We drove ourselves from SJO. 4x4's are an absolute necessity for the trip to/from Puerto Jimenez. We enjoyed this part of the adventure ! The sleeping arrangements: The two, two bedroom Cabinas slept 2 of our families, whilst the loft slept 4 of the more adventurous girls with their parents sleeping in the two other one bedroom Cabinas. Perfect for our group in all respects ! The cabinas are very well appointed and comfortable with bathrooms with outdoor showers and fans. The huge thatch roof covered main living area is absolutely stunning, needing to be seen to be believed yet so very practical: A loft area that sleeps 4 very comfortably (could sleep 6), with a 1/2 bath below for those in the loft. The kitchen has everything needed for a large group. Huge pantry, large chest freezer, large chest fridge, multiple coolers for beverages. The multiple lounging/living areas were very comfortable and allowed our group to congregate together or spread out as desired. Hammock was used always, two large tables for playing games or for dining, several areas with couches for relaxing, reading or napping were enjoyed as well. A perfect place to "hide" from the sun and catch the breezes during the day and take a siesta or hang out when the sun went down. The deck area is huge, offering indescribable, postcard views of the gulf and surrounding property. Watch the sun rise, enjoy the daily shows that the Toucans, Green Parrots and Scarlet Macaws put on a show every morning and evening. Catch the full power of the near equatorial sunshine during the day, take an outdoor shower then slide into the infinity pool to cool off. The kids and adults spent countless hours in both areas during the early morning, all day and into each evening. Simply perfect. We chose to have the property caretakers (Marvin and his wonderful family) shop for, prepare and perform clean up for our breakfast and supper meals. This was one of the best decisions we could have made for the group as everyone raved about the quality of the food and the service. Pizza in the outdoor stone fireplace was one highlight, grilled tenderloin and seafood on the outdoor grill another. Guacamole and chips every nigh

Testimonials

A Memorable Trip

The trip from Puerto Jimenez (12 miles or a 45 minutes drive) to Tres Palmas was like a fairly tale drive through thick tropical forest and lush vegetation running down from the mountains and touching the ocean to our left. Birds and wildlife were abundant, but there was a noticeable lack of traffic, road signs, power lines and people. Perfect!

Along the way we quartered the Gulfo Dulce and at times came to open cattle pastures with majestic views of tubing waves breaking at point breaks in the distance.

Once we reached the entrance to Tres Palmas the fun really began! The drive up and down the 1 mile road was steep and exciting! The size of the trees towering all around us was incredible and we could hear and see howling monkeys. My immediate thoughts were, “We've found paradise!” But the best was yet to come. The Tres Palmas property overlooks Cabo Matapalo. The vista is downright breathtaking. I've never witnessed a more moving perspective in all of Costa Rica!

The amazing thing about this area is that there are so many amazing things to do and see. Within a walking distance you can experience world class surfing, hiking, wildlife, beach combing, fishing and much more.

The accommodations and food were all 5 star class.

This was my fifth multi-week trip to Costa Rica and hands down because of our visit to Tres Palmas it will be always the most memorable and exciting.

Fabulous home.

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Tres Palmas was too short ..next time we will stay a week!

The photos don't do this house justice..it is a stunner and the staff were wonderful. This was our 4th visit to the Matapalo area and by far the best.

I have never seen so many toucans which are my favourite of all birds.

Thank You Brad and George we had a wonderful stay.

Great option on the Osa

  • 5 of 5

We had a great experience at Tres Palmas. Beautiful location, great accommodations, and all the amenities you need for a memorable beach/jungle vacation. We were a party of eight- all family members ranging from young adults to grandma. Brad, the property manager works with you to arrange flights, car rentals, excursions and meals. This was our second trip to the Osa this year and we will be back again, I am sure. So much natural beauty, so many animals, such a welcoming place! And Tres Palmas is a perfect base from which to launch your daily adventures! In fact, just getting there is an adventure. We cannot wait to come back.

Jungle paradise! Private, remote, 5 star amenities, unbeliveable views, the perfect get-away!

  • 5 of 5

The jungle villa was the perfect setting for my company incentive trip! I, along with four couples, made this jungle paradise home for 5 days! We wanted an adventure & we got it! If you're looking for something unusual, out of the box, & most likely a never been done experience, this is it!

The villa sleeps 4 couples in comfortable jungle style. We had all our meals prepared daily & they were fantastic! The sites & sounds all around us were spectacular!

Everyday there were more activities than we had time to enjoy. Fishing, repelling along side waterfalls, & sailing were a blast!

I highly recommend this experience to anyone with an adventurous soul!

BEST FAMILY VACATION

  • 5 of 5

Our family absolutely loved Tres Palmas. We experienced the best vacation imaginable. It was perfect for our family of 6 adults (grandparents, 2 sons and wives, and 5 grandchildren ranging in age from 4 to 15). Brad, the knowledgeable property manager, helped with airline reservations, car rental, meal planning and excursion reservations.

The kids enjoyed the rough road through the rain forest leading to Tres Palmas and their first introduction to the plentiful wildlife. Upon arrival at hidden and private Tres Palmas, the beauty of the villa, the infinity pool, and the panoramic view of the ocean stunned us. The lovely master suites and cabinas gave everyone their own space. Each accommodation had an ocean view with a lovely outdoor shower attached. Fans and ocean breezes kept the rooms pleasant and cool. We all ate buffet style together in the large open great room with its ocean view and soaring thatched roof.

We enjoyed having excellent chef, Sedie, cook our 3 meals each day. This luxury was well worth it. Sedie created fresh and delicious meals with plenty of local produce. Some of our favorites were smoked pork chops with pineapple sauce, fresh fish and casados. A daily treat was the "four o'clock Guac"(guacamole and chips) which we enjoyed with mojitos or lime smoothies, She even made a birthday cake. Marjorie gave fantastic massages, a real treat after our vigorous adventures. We had a hot water problem and Jose immediately bought a new heater and fixed it.

We were amazed by the number and variety of animals right on the property: howler, spider and capuchin monkeys, macaws, toucans, parrots, vultures, iguanas, poison dart frogs, 10-inch walking sticks, pecccaries and agoutis, to name a few. The kids were delighted and amazed. The pool was in constant use when we were not on an adventure. Some of the best were horseback riding with Carlos, waterfall rappelling and tree climb/jump with Andy, i/2 day in shore fishing and ziplining in La Palma. Sedie cooked the large jack fish we caught for dinner. We also caught 3 rooster fish . Surfing and standup paddle boarding (rent on beach at Encanta La Vida) were great on Pan Dulce Beach down the stairway trail from the villa to the left of Matapalo and Backwash beaches. Brad was extremely helpful in arranging the adventures which were just the guide/skipper and our family.

Our stay at Tres Palmas gave us memories to share for a lifetime.

It was a truly fantastic family vacation.
