About The Owner

I have been going to this Lake Michigan beach location with my family for over 50 years. Very unique location with various activities such as fishing, hunting, canoeing, golf, horseback riding, swimming, and walking the pristine Lake Michigan beach front in Oceana County.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 1960

Why The Owner chose Western Michigan

Beautiful pristine Lake Michigan shoreline not usually available to the general public. This area is all family owned and very private and secluded beachfront.

What makes this cottage unique

The adjoining natural wetlands of Big Flower Creek that is accessible from this location gives you the ability to view the natural wildlife in the area as well as the benefits of the beach. Rowboat, Canoe and Kayak are also available with this property upon request . Guided tours are available upon request on a limited basis.

Great family time on Lake Michigan shore

  • 5 of 5

Lake Michigan has the best of the states beaches and this is a perfect spot to enjoy your own private spot. This is a very comfortable place, well stocked with just about everything a family would need and more! We spent 10 days with adult kids and grandchildren coming and going. Mike even let us bring our dog- who too had a wonderful time. The view from the front porch area and an upper deck (we named it the Sky deck) was so beautiful and easily added living space. We spent very little time indoors. If you are stuck inside though- there are games/televisions/VCR players & videos. The kitchen area is tiny- but does have every size pan you could ever need and utensils. We cooked most meals outside on the 2 large grills and tried to do prep work ahead so it worked out well. You cannot go wrong with renting this property and Mike the owner is very helpful and kind.

Owner's Response: Jim and Paulette... I am so happy to hear that you and your family had a great time at my cottage. I really appreciated your enthusiasm about the area and coming to visit. I know you have been coming to the area for a number of years and had not been to this exact shoreline area before. It really was great to be able to share this area of Lake Michigan Shoreline with you. You and your family were the perfect guests and I hope that you can make it back in the future. I was not able to rate you through the site because you booked direct with me but I will certainly give you (FIVE STARS) as the perfect guests. Best Regards, Mike

What a view!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week at this property in August 2016. Very nice cottage, well maintained and clean. The views are wonderful and the beds are super comfortable. There was plenty of room to hang out together inside and out. Take advantage of sun or shade from a deck that encircles the house. The owner was terrific about answering questions and making sure we were comfortable. We had everything we needed, including crystal clear lake waters and shooting stars at night!. There are a lot of stairs, up from the road and down to the beach so be prepared for a climb. It's just the nature of the area. I would definitely recommend this property!

Cozy cabin with amazing views all around.

Spent a week here and wished we could have spent longer. We loved the deck, it was the perfect vantage point to take in the spectacular sunsets or stargaze. The beach was great. We took advantage of all the nearby produce. Blueberry picking, fresh cherry pies and fresh sweet corn and peaches. Mike was a great host and was very available to answer any questions and make sure we were having a great stay. Look forward to staying there again.

Perfect getaway ! Everything was great . We were able to have our family come up and visit - perfect for our grandson . If you do not like stairs , or can't be without a cell phone then this is not for you . But if you want to get away from it all and hear the waves , see the sunset and enjoy the beauty then this is the place. Mike was there to greet us and answer any questions .

Words cannot totally describe what an AWESOME vacation destination this cottage is. Mike went above and beyond to make sure we were set

up for our stay. After speaking with us, Mike put together literature from around the local area that we might enjoy. He met us at the cottage to get us

oriented and even called the next day to follow up(NICE!!). Other than the essentials that we needed to bring ( and are clearly mentioned in the listing),

everything else you need is there. And the view from the deck is second to none!! We rented (and they delivered and picked up)...2 SUP's from WaterDog Outfitters in Montague. Very affordable!! Thanks Steve.

Thanks for everything, Mike. Hope to see you again next year.
