The Villa and the grounds were beautiful. The pool was so disgusting and dirty that we sent pictures to Luxury Retreats. I spoke to the manager of the Villa (Tracy had shared concerns with Jennifer the concierge and the comment we got that the pool was very dirty that they had to shock the pool). The pool was so dirty, cloudy, etc... We were told it was good to swim in it... but we googled it and found out differently. We did forward pictures to Luxury Retreats (This was on Tuesday morning as we arrived Monday evening and on Thursday it was still awful and no one came to clean it until Thursday). We also have pictures of after the pool was supposedly cleaned on Thursday and was still scummy and not good and not clear. The whole week we could not swim in it and had to spend money to take a cab to the beach. Sad.
All the family thoroughly enjoyed the week we spent at Calliaqua. The children spent hours in the pool and also made good use of the beach resort. The tennis facilities were excellent' The Spago resturant was good for pasta etc. the Villa is a credit to the owners who must be very proud to have such a retreat. Marlene was excellent and respected our wishes to prepare meals - but otherwise kept the villa clean and tidy -despite the efforts of 3 teens to do otherwise.
