Beautiful and fresh with hardwood floors throughout. Best location in town!

This large and private one bedroom condo boasts nearly 700 square feet of living space and a 100 square foot lanai perfect for outdoor dining! No cost was spared on this gorgeous unit from the real hardwood handscraped floors to the new fixtures and lighting. Huge California King Sized bed will welcome you after a day of visiting white sand beaches, black sand beaches, sea turtles, amazing restaurants, hiking trails and, of course, the volcano! There is tons of closet space, a large queen-sized comfortable pull out sleeper sofa, all kinds of towels and sheets, dishes, pots and pans, coffee grinder and coffee maker, etc. Spacious kitchen and breakfast bar! There is a brand new ceramic top stove / range oven and an electric skillet for cooking meals and a large BBQ area outside with a completely remodeled pool and spa!!! (Note: This is a 2nd floor unit, no elevator, but very close and convenient to your own private parking space) Yes, you will have your own assigned parking space. This unit is in the back of the complex... tons of greenery and privacy. There is a wall unit air conditioner as well as a brand new ceiling fan. New flat screen TV and DVD player. Cable and internet provided free of charge. Free wifi! This unit is a clean and wonderful place to be while on the big Island.

It is close and convenient to EVERYTHING. Walk to famed Alii Drive for dinner, walk to the beach and downtown Kona. Listen to live music and walk to the farmer's market for fresh pineapple! A minute drive to a white sand beach and only a few minutes more to some of the most pristine beaches on the Big Island. The possibilities are endless in one of the best locations on the Big Island.

The condo was fantastic! It was very new and clean and close to everything. My wife and I had the BEST time there. This was such a better option than staying at a hotel or at someone's cluttered, old "lived-in" condo. The upgrades really made it special and so did the tropical landscape surrounding the building. Everyone we ran into was really, really nice. We can't wait to return! It was such a good deal too! The owner is extremely friendly and gave us directions and always answered all our questions and more.

Perfect size and location

We stayed here for several days in November and it was a great choice for us and our baby. You get a living room, kitchen with counter, patio with table, small bedroom, bathroom with tub, and tiny laundry machines. The kitchen was equipped with basics like a pot, dishes, etc. There is a wall A/C unit in the living room; we mostly left it off. Also a TV and disc player. Linens and beach towels were also provided. It was clean and comfortable. There was a small community pool, typically empty, and a couple of grills near it.

If you have a young child, we found it fairly easy to baby proof the living room by moving a few items. We rented a PacknPlay (the baby slept in it in the living room) and used it as a 'gate' to close off the hallway to the rest of the house.

The location is great, you can walk to the restaurants and shops downtown easily, and there is a grocery store and Target nearby. (No paper or plastic bags, bring your own or buy them at the store.)

The owner provided an extensive list of suggested activities, beaches and restaurants. She was also able to suggest where we rented the baby gear too.

If we return to Big Island I would definitely consider staying here again.

Great Kona Vacation Condo

This is our 2nd Kona visit in Katie's KBR condo and we highly recommend her unit to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and quiet condo close to all of the Kailua-Kona attractions. The unit is located in the back of the complex across from the pool and BBQ. Started each day with a sunrise walk along Alii Drive and Kona coffee at Java on the Rocks. It is a 2 minute walk to the Kailua Pier and King K beach for paddle board or kayak rentals. For evening entertainment, all of the Alii Drive restaurants and shops are a short walk. Check out the nightly local entertainment at the Lava Jave Island Cafe or test your trivia expertise at Humpy's on Tuesday nights. Lulu's still offers the local delicacy, Spam and Spaghetti-O's, for you gourmets. Snorkelers and divers - book a manta ray night cruise with Kona Ocean Adventures - Capt Danny will make sure you have fun.

We highly recommend Katie's condo and plan to be back soon.

Kona Condo Walking Distance to Downtown

This condo is located just off the downtown Kona area in a large condo/apt complex. The entire downtown area is an easy walk from the condo, and the Kona Brewery! The property is well-kept, has a small pool/jacuzzi area (for families and kids), and a parking spot right next to the condo building. The unit itself is very clean and minimally decorated, but has everything a couple needs for a stay. The kitchen has a new stovetop, nice frig. and a coffee maker. Important for that morning cup of Kona coffee. It has the basics in pots/pans and cooking tools which will serve you for any cooking. There is NO dishwasher. A few extras we liked for our beach outings was a cooler, beach mats, beach towels, chairs and snorkeling flippers. You need your own mask.

Katie, the owner, was very easy to work with and sent us an email with great suggestions for activities around the island and restaurants.

Great Condo for Your Kona Vacation

This is one of the cleanest vacation condos in Kona and we had a wonderful vacation. The complex is in the center of Kona activity and all of the Alii Drive attractions are an easy walk. We particularly enjoyed the early morning walk down Alii for that first cup of Kona coffee at sunrise. Walk 2 blocks to the King K Hotel beach and rent a kayak or standup board to see the dolphins in beautiful Kailua Bay. You will not find a more convenient location for your Kona vacation.

I almost don't want to leave a review for fear that this place will be booked up when I want to return. The complex was great, not just full of tourists! Very well maintained grounds with many beautiful flowers, clean pool and BBQ area, huge lanai with plenty of room to eat and relax, air conditioning, and a huge bed to stretch out in at night. Katie was wonderful, she provided us with great info on beaches and other destinations on the island. I would definately rent this unit again!

70's Condo fair value for price

Firstly I should say, the owner was very accomodating and helpful. The condo is as advertised, newly painted, clean, and has a comfortable bed and good sized lanai. It is reasonably priced. Our problem was misinterpretating the other reviews. We have had the fortune to stay in many lovely places and really enjoy the Big Island. The sign entering the driveway says Kailua Bay Resort. This is misleading. There are five large condo buildings (built in the 1970's at a guess) mostly lived in by local working people. The area is convenient and walking distance to town. However we are not used to being in a complex surrounded by highways. There were few quests to speak with at the very small pool. The condo was situated probably in one of the best locations on the property but the barbecue was still a long distance from the room. There is no air conditioning or fan in the bedroom which made sleeping difficult.

Owner's Response: The building was actually built in the 1990's and not the 1970's. LOL! It is in downtown so, of course, there is a major street nearby. The main drag, Alii Drive, is right on the water and happens to be one block from Kuakini "Highway" which is only a two-lane road that goes through downtown Kona. The condo is so tucked well away from the street that you can't even hear the road from where it is situated. I would think that not having any other guests at the pool would be a bonus (privacy!) but to each his own.
