Enjoy watching the boats sail into Maalaea Harbor and visit Maui's #1 tourist attraction, the Maui Ocean Center, as well as shops and restaurants at the end of the street! If you need to stay in touch with the outside world, hi speed internet is available at no additional charge. New maple cabinets, Corian countertops, porcelain tile and wood floors enhance your vacation experience inside the condo. Island life is complete with ceiling fans in both bedrooms, the living room and dining room.
Being on top in our fourth floor, 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo only makes the view better! The condo has easy elevator access and air conditioning on days when the trade winds aren't enough to keep your comfort level perfect. Everything has been made available to you for your stay from kitchen utensils to luxurious oversized beach towels, hair dryer to coffee maker; bring only a need for relaxation and yourselves. The whales come back every year from December to April to put on their incredible show which can be seen while having breakfast on the lanai or down on beautiful Sugar Beach, directly in front of Kanai A Nalu. If you're up for more adventure, the Maalaea Harbor just down the street, has daily boat tours to Molokini reef for snorkeling and scuba diving, or whale watching and sunset tours. World class golfing can be found all over Maui, some of the closest courses- Sandalwood, Waikapu, Lani and Elleair (Silversword) are within just a few minutes drive.
Centrally located on the island, only 10 minutes from the airport in Kahului and 15-20 minutes away from the tourist areas of Wailea and Lahaina, Kanai A Nalu is world's apart in it's solitude. The condo complex is on a quiet dead end street that ends at a park and 700 acre Kealia Nature Preserve. The other end of the street boasts the Maui Ocean Center (Aquarium), shops and restaurants, all within easy walking distance. Unlike some other Maalaea properties that are only on a reef, Sugar Beach starts at Kanai A Nalu. This pristine beach stretches for miles to the east, in front of the nature preserve and its gentle surf is great for boogie boarding, snorkeling and beginning surfers. Due to the preserve, there is no development for the first several miles along this picturesque beach.
Whether you're looking for adventure or just want to get away from all the hustle and bustle, Maalaea is a great place to start! You can lounge by our heated pool or snorkel with the giant sea turtles. If you'd like to cook your own meals, you can do so in our full size kitchen, or use the gas or charcoal BBQ by the pool-but if you'd rather let someone else do the work, one of the best restaurants on the island is just at the end of our street-The Waterfront.
Whatever your interests, make sure you save time for merely enjoying the sound of the surf and watching the waves, from the lanai or down on the beach and your time on Maui will have been well spent!

After visiting Maui for almost 20 years, we finally stayed at Kanai A Nalu and loved it! Easy to get around the island, but secluded and tranquil when we just wanted to stay at the condo-exactly what we were looking for during our times in Maui! The beach is almost always ours with just a few others sharing it and the surf is gentle enough for our little ones to play in and build sandcastles!
Easy access to tour, quiet corner, hidden gem!
The home was great and fit our need perfect, we were traveling with our baby and there was even a little high chair for her. Very central location between Lahani, Kehei and Kahalui. Owner is very responsive with any questions you have. There was no travel shampoo/conditioner or face wipes which would have been nice on the first night but we went out and bought our own stuff the next day. Couldn't get the DVD player to work but that was likely user error (no instructions were included). Again, loved the place and will likely stay here again.
First trip to Maui for our family of 6 in August 2016. Our four kids range from ages 8-16. All of our friends told us to stay in Kaanapali and I'm so glad we didn't. Kaanapali is busy, touristy, and full of large commercial resorts. This place was perfect in a quiet and fairly secluded neighborhood. The unit is on the 4th floor close to the elevator. There were plenty of linens and towels (bath and beach) and most importantly the unit was clean! Here were my major criteria in choosing a vacation rental: washer/dryer in unit, "swim-able" beach access, pool, A/C, and free parking. Not to mention this unit is very well-reviewed. It is very centrally located; literally 20-30 minutes from major areas (airport, Lahaina/Kaanapali, Wailea). The beach is not huge but literally a step off of the property. Our kids enjoyed swimming and there were TONS of turtles all around us while boogie boarding and snorkeling. The complex was not crowded or noisy during our stay. There is a general store, aquarium, Carls Jr., and a couple restaurants within walking distance. Major grocery stores and restaurants are within 15-30 minutes drive away; which was no bother at all. Although Kihei is the closest town, we found that driving to Kahului was faster due to less traffic lights (10-15 minutes). Best of all, this place was much better priced than the big touristy places. The savings was by far worth the small distance away. We dealt primarily with Lynnette who was more than helpful and accommodating. She gave us her cell number was available for any questions we had. She was also nice enough to allow us to have a late checkout since our flight out wasn't until 10pm. There are some beach accessories in the unit. We left some stuff so there are now 4 boogie boards (2 will need replacing soon) and some swimming fins (we didn't have room in our bags!). There is an ice chest which came in handy. Two beach chairs (one kind-of broken but functional). Kitchen was well-stocked. WiFi worked well. We would ABSOLUTELY stay here again. We prefer the quieter parts of Hawaii and not the busy crowed ones and this met our expectations.
We enjoyed our week in Maui, the location was great, pool was great, ocean was great. No big issues during our stay and we look forward to returning sometime in the future.
We very much enjoyed our stay at this clean and comfortable unit. The ocean sounds and views were as advertised. The location for us is perfect- not far from Kihei, Lahaina or the airport The kitchen was well supplied- however a few essential spices ( salt, pepper) would have been great. Another nice supply would be some laundry soap/pods. Fortunately I had brought some from home, but with the request to start a load of linens upon leaving, the addition of soap would be welcome. Overall, this was a fantastic place and we look forward to returning soon.

We chose this lovely condo because of it's location on the island, it's price and the fact that it's beachfront. This has been our first time to Maui and we made the perfect pick! The condo is spacious, neatly decorated and has everything one will need to feel right at home. We only went shopping for food. The grounds and the pool are clean and very well maintained and the property has direct access to the beach through the garden. The beach feels almost private which was really enjoyable- no crowds and our 2 year old twins were able to run and play without disturbing anyone. The view from the Lanai is great and it's exposure allowed us to have breakfast without baking in the sun already. Yet, in the evening the condo was one of the last ones to still get some sun before sunset. We also used the onsite gas BBQ quite a bit. The centralized location allows fast travel in any direction. Both Kihei and Lahaina are only 20 mins away by car and the drive to Kahului is 30 mins maximum. We had several questions before deciding on this condo and communication with the owners has been easy and very pleasant from the first contact to coordinating a late check out. Their responses were prompt and most helpful. So, anyone looking for that special place to spend a relaxing vacation, look no further! We loved it here!
We have stopped looking for better deals since staying at this Condo. The view is Great and the Condo is nicely furnished.
It is about 15 steps to the beach. The Beach is about 4 miles long and unobstructed all the way to Kihei. The area next to the condo is a wild life preserve for the enndangered Hawksbill turtle. It can never be developed. It really is a little known secret. Uncrowded and from December to April you can see Whales breeching in the Harbor from your Lanai.
From the front of the property to the south is Halelakala and in front of you is the premier diving site Molokini crater.
One warning. It can be habit forming . Don't go for less than 2 weeks.

Maalaea is a quiet little village on the southern shore, centrally located between Kihei and Lahaina. At the beginning of our dead end street is the acclaimed Maui Ocean Center and first class cuisine at the Waterfront. Touring the island is easily accessible and escaping to tranquility is as easy as staying in!
