About the property

Peaceful 2 BR 2 BA Cabin

Waterfall Retreat is a peaceful cabin that is situated in the mountains between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Located under ten minutes from each, it gives you easy access to both towns. The views from the upper and lower decks are amazing and being at the end of the street gives you all the privacy you could want. Our neighborhood is not one of the kinds where they clear-cut the side of hill and plant as many homes as they can fit in a small area. It is a neighborhood of predominately log cabins which have a fair amount of property with them. This helps you to feel secluded. From our back decks, you can't see any cabins except for those on the next ridge line about a mile away. Many of our guests say that they enjoy drinking coffee on our back deck and listening to the relaxing sound of the nearby waterfall and birds.

The interior of the cabin is professionally decorated and is very inviting. The warm and cozy furniture feels like you are at home. The first floor bedroom has a king bed and the upstairs bedroom has a queen bed. Both of the bedrooms have TVs, jetted tubs and adjacent bathrooms. The loft/game room has a pool table, TV, sleeper sofa and lots of board games. The living room has a gas fireplace, 42' LCD TV above the fireplace, Playstation 3 game console, a comfortable recliner, a queen sleeper sofa, and a twin sleeper sofa. The fully-equipped kitchen is adjacent to the living room.

Come relax in the rocking chairs and hammock on the back decks or take a dip in the 5-6 person hot tub.

The cabin has full broadband internet access.

We welcome last minute rentals.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Penny,

We stayed at your beautiful log cabin from July 18th to the 20th with our international family. It was such a pleasure to enjoy the nature and beauty from your cottage! We thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it! We couldn't have chosen a better place than your little heaven! We would love to go back again in the future and recommend our friends also. It was a beautiful drive all the way!

Thank you for offering such beauty, comfort and peace!

This was the best cabin we have ever stayed in. The view was spectacular. The cabin was very clean and well organized. The directions given got us right to the front door without any problems. We will definately be back again.

Adventures in the Smokies

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 7 fit comfortably in this beautiful mountain side cabin. It's located right smack between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg ! The cabin was equipped with everything we needed with all the comforts of home. The owners were very friendly and helpful and available to answer any questions we had. I would definitely consider renting this cabin again if we ever make it back to the Tennessee Mountains. Just a few tips, bring extra toilet paper and paper towels and maybe some Clorox wipes to help you keep the cabin clean and tidy ! Be careful not to over flow trash, play the dollar game, be aware that both bathrooms are located in the bedrooms so you'll have to prepare for whomever is sleeping on the pull outs to use the restrooms during the night and the pool table located in the loft area is awesome but a little noisey !!!

This cabin is in the perfect location & a must-stay! It really *made* our perfect honeymoon!

The property was everything we expected and more! As we were driving up to the cabin, I kept seeing cabins that were right next to others, some that were facing the road, some where the back deck had a hot tub facing another house, and ones that were limited in terms of privacy and I got kinda nervous. However, pulling up to this cabin, my husband said, "Good job, babe!" because it was located at the end of a road, and had great privacy between it and the neighbors. It was adorable, homey, and had everything you'd want in a mountain cabin! It was clean and had all the necessities (TP, plenty of towels, pillows, fully stocked kitchen, pool table, the hot tub with fresh water, super awesome bathtubs in each bedroom, etc. etc.), not to mention the cabin itself was decorated perfectly. Penny let us know our door code before arrival, and during our stay we had no issues so no reason to make contact with her, but it was clear she was readily available if needed. One morning, I woke up, put on my swimsuit and got in the hot tub on the back deck to read, and it truly was the perfect morning. On one afternoon, my husband and I got in a few games of pool (I lost :( ) and I also enjoyed watching tv at night from the bath tub. The BEST part, however, is when I walked out on the front porch and my husband told me to, "Shhh," only to be followed with a wild bear walking across the driveway about 50 feet away! It was the first time Ive ever seen a bear in the wild & it was AWESOME! :)

As for the surrounding areas, everything is super close! The drive from the cabin to both Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg was less than 15 minutes (way less miles!) and not an intimidating drive (mountain roads scare me). Pigeon Forge is pretty touristy (think Panama City Beach, but aimed towards families instead of raging teens and young adults) and Gatlinburg was what I would expect from a mountain town. We loved Gatlinburg! We found a pub that had karaoke which was very interesting to say the least, but a great time! Lots of shopping also! In Pigeon Forge, we ate at Flapjacks (yum!) and on our last night saw Dolly Parton's Lumberjack Adventure which was so cool! We were both really impressed with the show (more acrobatics, less singing) and the food was awesome! I also recommend going on a fly fishing tour (Fly Fishing in the Smokies- shoutout to Jared!) and karaoke at the Red Roof Inn!!! :)

We loved this cabin!! Everything you would need and then some! Loved the view and how secluded it was. Decorated lovely and so convenient to have a washer/dryer. We enjoyed being located perfectly between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. So much to do and see. The fall colors were amazing to see off both decks, hot tub, and hammock.
