|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
A great place to gather with family and friends away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Enjoy barbecues in the yard, rejuvenate in the hot tub or simply unwind in the peaceful outdoors.
Our Chalet is designed to sleep six people comfortably. Upon entering the Chalet, just opposite the laundry room and bathroom, you'll find the first bedroom containing a queen-sized bed. A new, King bed is located upstairs in the Master/Loft. In our opinion, the loft is where you can find the best mountain views peering through the ceiling-to-floor windows. The loft also houses a large armoire and a full-sized, solid-wooden futon bed. Below the loft is the living area where you'll find an identical solid-wood, full-sized futon bed. From here, watch a movie on DirecTV or just kick back and relax with your special someone in front of a romantic fireplace.
The kitchen is fully stocked with a 14-piece stainless steel Cuisinart skillet & pots/pans set for indoor use. Here you'll also find a microwave, blender, toaster, full spice rack, coffee pot (with coffee & sugar/creamer packets) to name a few extra amenities. We also provide all of the necessities for outdoor cooking like the propane on the large grill near the firepit and grill utensils.
And, of course, don't forget the Hot Tub on the wrap-around deck: the perfect relaxation amenity!

We love all things outdoors. We have spent many years rafting and guiding on the New and Gauley Rivers which offer some of the best whitewater in the world. We like to hike and fish. Our truest sport-love is skiing. We have skied many resorts in many states and look forward to playing on many more mountains. We like to garden and play with our farm animals. We raise goats, cows, and chickens. We have rescued two dogs: Willow, a German Shepherd mix (i.e. West Virginia Brown Dog) and more recently Rocky, a Great Dane/Cane Corso Mastiff mix.
Our family of 5 (3 growing teenagers) found this cabin perfect for a relaxing time away. Fully equipped kitchen allowed us to make some of our favorite meals. The bed in the loft was so comfy and the view was amazing! We really enjoyed looking at the stars from the hot tub. Direct TV but no wifi, which was fine. We all put down our devices and played games. We also enjoyed walking down to meet the goats & steer. Wonderful place!
We've stayed at this property 4 times in the last 5 years...and it just keeps getting better. My wife and I find that we start craving our away time at the Sleepy Hollow chalet. From the great restaurants within a few minutes of the cabin, to the tucked away feel behind the gate, to the terrific views through the floor to ceiling wall of windows, to the super comfy king sized bed in the loft...we live every minute.
We escape to the mountains every chance we get (Jackson Hole, WY...the mountains of NC, Snowshoe, WV)...but find ourselves wanting to keep going back year after year to Sleepy Hollow. Highly recommend for that "get away from it all" vacation.
Owner Shanna was kind, responsive and helpful as we planned our trip to the Oak Hill, WV area. This cabin was quite remote down a long dirt road and behind a locked gate (for which you are given the code), but don't let that deter you from staying here. It was heaven. The views are spectacular and if you're lucky you will catch a colorful sunrise through the 2-story wall of windows overlooking the valley. There is a fireplace inside and wood was provided. The kitchen is well appointed, though counter space was a little tricky for the Thanksgiving dinner we cooked there from our family. The upstairs loft is spacious and the king bed quite comfortable. There is another room on the ground floor with a queen, and one spacious bath. The hot tub was filled and in good working condition and the water clean. We loved it in the 30 degree temperatures we had that week. The house has a grill and an outdoor fire pit as well. I highly recommend this chalet! Though there was no wifi, the owners are discussing putting it in for their guests.
This was our first time staying at the Chalet, and we hope to come back every year! Every year we go away for a weekend with friends to get-away and catch-up. This year we chose the Chalet instead of a Resort Hotel, and we are so happy we did! It was the best weekend away we have had yet!
PROS: View, Hot Tub, Comfortable Beds, New Grill, Everything you need for indoor/outdoor cooking and building a fire inside and out. Very quiet surroundings, plenty of room to relax comfortably both indoors and outside! The hot tub is warm when you get there, and gets hot very quickly if you leave the cover on while heating. The heat is very good- you do not need to turn it up at all to warm the entire place. There is a book with instructions on where to find things in the house, as well as pamphlets highlighting the area, and lots of board games. All of the light switches are labeled (may sound silly that this is a Pro, but it is!) Shanna responded almost immediately to my text messages when I had a question. This Chalet is truly an AMAZING find, I almost hate to share as I don't want it to get too popular and then we won't be able to get it when we want it-LOL!
CONS (SORT OF): The counter space in the kitchen is a little small, if you like to prepare a big meal, you will need to overflow onto the dining room table (not a huge deal). The magnificent wall of windows faces almost due east- whomever gets to sleep upstairs gets the best view of the sunrise, but it is VERY SUNNY . There is only one bathroom (not an issue if you are away with family or good friends). The Chalet is on well water- if you drink a lot of water, or use ice-cubes, bring bottled water and a bag of ice- the water does not taste very good (pretty common for well water in my experience). The detergent for all of the linens is pretty strong. I am hypersensitive, and had a little bit of a reaction to the smell. It is CLEAN, but has a stronger detergent smell than what I am used to.
This cabin is very cozy with all possible imaginable amenities. The owners truly have thought through everything, even as simple as all of the light switches are labeled. The property is breathtaking and owners are very accessible and helpful.
Our driveway is a mile-long, red rock/gravel/dirt road. There are no street lights or stop lights. This “off-the-beaten-path” drive surrounded by woodlands and hills is the only way to escape the disturbances of everyday life and truly enjoy the seclusion that our cabin has to offer. Please drive slowly; you will likely encounter some deer or turkeys crossing the road.
