Best Cabin for the Price in Colorado!!

  • 5 of 5

As veterans of the VRBO/HomeAway circuit in the Rockies, I can say without hesitation that this cabin is the best deal you will find for the money anywhere in the high country.

We had made this reservation far in advance and arrived with a great deal of anticipation. To our (and our 2 Labs)delight, we found that TimberRidge had a fenced backyard! Although we were ready to leash and tether the dogs, this perk added a whole new dimension to our relaxation while at the cabin. This allowed us to have open doors (the front porch is fenced in too) and let the dogs explore about while we hot-tubbed, had cocktails on the deck or just chilled out. What a difference maker!

The property was all that was advertised beyond that as well. 2 big comfortable beds. Robes for the hot tub. A cord of firewood. A blender for Margarita's. A nice looking Audio/Sound system, but alas, we never turned the TV on other than to review digital photos. The list goes on.

Then there were the owners. Brad happened by shortly after our arrival to check on a few things and made us feel right at home. The next day we had a little snafu with the hot tub and son Kyle was in constant contact to help us remedy the problem. He came up from Colorado Springs the next morning to make sure everything was alright and perform a little bathroom maintenance. Such a congenial host!

The cabin is well situated for area attractions. Just 20-30 minutes back down the road to Woodland Park and Manitou Springs. Only 15-20 minutes to Cripple Creek if you feel like losing some money (like we did) at the casinos. We also made longer but still reasonable jaunts to Breckenridge and Salida while there.

Add up what you get for the money here, especially if you are a dog owner, and you have what I believe is the best cabin deal in Colorado. And while we often say we will try to get back to the places we have liked through VRBO/Home Away, I'm pretty confident we'll be back to stay here again in the years ahead.

Thanks to Brad and Kyle. You were great and the trip was memorable.

Awesome stay at the cabin

  • 5 of 5

We have rented this cabin several times. Each time is great. The cabin is in wonderful condition, has everything to make our stay fun and relaxing. We take our 2 dogs each time and there is so much for them to do in this area. We drove to Cripple Creek and saw a donkey in the middle of the street! We saw several deer, hummingbirds and chipmunks at the cabin. We grilled outside and had nice meals on the deck. At night we used the hot tub and saw so many brilliant stars. Such a great, relaxing time. We'll rent again for sure. Mark & Pam

A Comfy Place and Very Kind Landlords. What's Not to Like!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in this two-bedroom cabin. It had all of the comforts of home. The property was clean and well-maintained. We enjoyed the grill and the deck, the fireplace, and just sitting on the front porch with a cup of coffee to greet the sunrise over the mountains. We didn't have the pleasure of seeing any bears, but we saw plenty of mule deer down the lane and birds of all sorts, including several varieties of woodpecker. Our little beagle enjoyed the spacious back yard. More than the cabin and the property, however, the real blessing was our interactions with the Eichners. They are gracious hosts, accessible, and cooperative in every way. They went above and beyond to make our stay in their property a thoroughly enjoyable one. They were attentive to our every need! I would recommend this property for anyone looking for a little peace, quiet, and relaxation.

Romantic winter getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at the cabin. The snow rolled in shortly after we arrived, and the place was cozy and warm. We lit a fire in the fireplace (great supply of firewood!) and got to cooking in the fully-functional kitchen. It's a small cabin, but had everything we needed and more. The hot tub was a great place to relax after hiking and snowshoeing, and the fenced in covered porch was great for the dog to hang out during the warmer spells. We hope to be back soon!

Cozy Cabin Weekend

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I were looking forward to a weekend getaway with our dogs where we could cook, sit by a fire and relax in a hot tub. Not only was The Timber Ridge Retreat perfect for our getaway weekend, Brad and Laura are great hosts. The snow followed us on vacation and we had to leave behind our vehicle that was stuck in the powder. Brad called to let us know when the roads were plowed and went out of his way to make sure everything turned out ok. We'll be staying here again - hopefully for longer!
