Baby Beach is a private and quiet one story beach house, located directly on the water with a vivid and relaxing water view and 40 feet of no bank waterfront. Lovely gardens surround the house. 1.5 hrs from downtown Seattle, 15 minutes from Clinton Ferry. Rates vary seasonally and with holidays, please check listing.
Sleeps up to 5 in 2 bedrooms with 3 queens, one bath. Living room and kitchen with dining area. Small cabana hut without bath months sleeps 2 in summer. Kayaks available.
Tell us in advance if you are bringing friends or pets. When we clean the house, we appreciate knowing of extra guests or pets AHEAD of time. We can then adjust our cleaning schedules. We are a cozy comfortable beach house for those who like adorable comfortable places. If you are seeking posh or sleekly modern, this place is not for you.
We have no cable or satellite TV service. We do have a flat screen TV where you can watch movies or stream internet with an hdmi cable attached to your device.
We have a stereo setting for your mp3 or ipod music device on aux.
Eagles soar overhead while you cozy up to the wood burning stove on a comfy sectional couch with a grand view of the water. Clamming, fishing, whale watching are all nearby. We call it Baby Beach since it is the perfect place for kids and dogs to play safely, and has a quiet innocence and old Whidbey charm.
The deck is the ideal place to read, talk, and relax in wicker lawn furniture as you view passing wildlife; deer, rabbits, seals, eagles, hummingbirds, and sea otters regularly grace our shores. Watch them from our comfortable couch next to the wood stove with a piano, books, videos and music to share, plus a fully stocked kitchen- just add food!
Coffee maker, toaster, microwave, glassware, ceramic dishes, table cloths, place mats, utensils, sandwich grill, waffle maker, and blender. Grill fish or toast marshmallows on the fire pit in the garden or sip coffee on the porch overlooking the water. Just bring your firewood!
Town is a 10 minute walk away and has a grocery store with fabulous deli, organic foods, and bakery... antique shops, restaurants, bars, and bookstores nearby and a public park with playground and a boat dock, plus famous Double Bluff beach is 5 minutes away. You won't hear a whisper of traffic as you get away from daily life at our sanctuary.
Besides the kitchen, dining area, and living room with wood stove and piano, inside we have two charming bedrooms, one with a queen bed and another with two queen beds. One bathroom. The extra detached hut can sleep 2 more but has no bathroom and not insulated, it is a cozy wood cabana for summer only. The house is not super modern but it's a Whidbey Classic beach cabin. If you're looking for sleek and posh it's not for you. If you care more about the view and beach walks than decor magazines, you'll like this place.
A recent review gives a great feel for our details...::
'I have been a vacation house visitor for about 25 years and this beautiful Whidbey island home is BY FAR the most enchanting and rejuvenating place I've ever been. So many details are attended to which makes the house seem warm and 'lived-in' and lends to the immediate feeling upon arriving that you have just come home. After unpacking and finding a comfortable place to sit, breathe and take in the view of the harbor, I could feel the stress drain from my body and mind. We only had 2 nights to be in that serene environment but it had such an impact on all of us that it felt more like a week... now THAT'S getting your money's worth! The home is walking distance (10 minutes) to thrift & antique stores, as well as the grocery store that has an amazing organic section and some of the most lovely seafood you will find in a tiny town, anywhere. We grilled some Copper River salmon and veggies one evening on the bbq provided (bring your favorite charcoal!) and we couldn't wipe the smiles off our faces the entire meal. We also walked up to one of the local restaurants for lunch and had a couple good sandwiches and salads but I would definitely recommend buying food and spending as much time at the beach house as possible because it's much more affordable than eating in town and you really won't want to be anywhere else for long during your stay. Definitely DO set out on a stroll at low tide so you can take in all of the gorgeous rocks & shells that adorn this quiet little beach. The morning sunlight is best and the water is calm because there's not much wind, which can kick up quite a bit off the harbor in the evening time so be sure to bring warm clothes if you're planning an outdoor fire. Although, if you've got a toasty fire going in the wood stove, the sound of the wind and the waves is truly a deeply calming experience not to be missed. The photos on the VRBO website are entirely accurate although the modest listing description left us delightfully surprised by all this wonderful beach home had to offer. If you've missed your opportunity to book your time away here this year, I HIGHLY recommend booking now for next year so that you can have the pleasure of staying at one of the most enjoyable vacation stays you'll ever find.'

We love Whidbey Island. Baby Beach house is a place to unwind from cares of the world. The wildlife and natural scenery is relaxing and invigorating. The smell of the sea, sightings of wildlife, and the colors of the sky and water make it a perfect place to let go.
Water at your doorstep, views of Mt Erie, wildness of Holmes Harbor, wildlife in your front yard, walk to town in 10 minutes. Breathing the salt air as you gaze over the blue sea is a special treat. Giant cedar woods and state parks are nearby. Sparking mornings and breathtaking sunsets.
Jessica, Thank you for allowing us to enjoy one fabulous week in your lovely home on "Baby Beach". We have had a wonderful stay-your place is cozy and has all the warm amenities including books, games, a piano, kayaks --too many things to mention! --to provide for a fun vacation. On several occasions my 4 year old grandson caught fish while fishing on the beach in front of your house.
We would love to come back soon for another week. Thank you again!!! Patti P
Baby Beach is a lovely spot! We fired up the wood stove and enjoyed a cozy evening. The view from the kitchen table in the morning was lovely - bird watching and cloud watching on a rainy day. ...and oh so very very quiet. The house was easy to find and the super easy access to the grocery store came in handy, too! Jennifer gave us clear information about everything 'Baby Beach' and made sure all our needs were covered. Thank you for a lovely stay! I enjoyed sharing Whidbey Island with my friend from Ohio, and staying the night at Baby Beach was the icing on the cake!
We stayed for five days at this very relaxing beach house. Beautiful view all around. Beach in backyard< kids enjoyed the kayaks! Cozy home with comfy beds.
Had everything we needed to feel at home. Would highly recommend!
We enjoyed our stay at Baby Beach. Jessica was easy to work with and very accommodating. The house was small and with lots of furniture and clutter which made it a bit claustrophobic. The pictures on the website are a little outdated. It was comfortable enough. We love the area.
After four perfect days at Baby Beach, we are adding this spot to our five Top Three all time VRBO favorites. It’s right on the beach, the deck is private, it’s clean, comfortable, quiet, unpretentious, artsy and everything works. Welcoming us with lilacs from the garden was a sweet touch. We were there for classic Pacific NW spring weather – sun, rain, sun, breeze, sun, sprinkles – and got caught in a bit of rain during a beach walk but Baby Beach has a dryer and we were soon good to go. Family arrived from Seattle for a day visit: Double Bluff for a long walk and an endless supply of dog sticks, rhodies in bloom at Meerkerk, Langley for lunch and a little window shopping, back to BB for piano duets, tall tales, canasta, laughter and a terrific fresh salmon dinner topped off by a spectacular sunset. Good times. Everyone slept well and rose the next morning, rested and ready for more, starting with breakfast on the deck in the sun. Even got a little reading done. This is a sweet place. Reilly the Dog was in heaven.
This little house is wonderful. It is quiet, comfortable, very peaceful, and exactly as pictured. Jessica makes sure that the house is stocked with everything you could need. It is a perfect home base from which to explore all of Whidbey Island, or to just relax on the deck and do nothing but enjoy the water and wildlife. My dog loved it. She would sit on the lawn in the morning watching all the birds, and then play on the beach in the afternoon. Freeland is a short walk away and has a great grocery store. I will definitely try to stay here again.
