Another Great Stay At the Wildwoods Cabin
Another great stay at the incredible Wildwoods Cabin. The cabin was clean and well prepared as always and the Kuipers were great hosts (Mom says "thanks for the homegrown tomatoes!") I can't say enough about what a great place this is to stay on the Kenai Peninsula. Incredible setting, fabulous cabin and very conveniently located.
Wonderful Wildwood Cabin
When you turn onto the the road to the Wildwood Cabin you are greeted by a huge family of cotton tail rabbits on the right. I t only gets better from there. The cabin is in a beautiful spot and is in immaculate condition. The fresh cut flowers waiting on the porch and on the counter inside is very refreshing. The cabin is in a very central location. We made day trips to Homer to go Halibut fishing. We limited out. Fish On Charters did a GREAT job. Weather was pretty rough but Capt. Will did his job and put us on fish. We saw 4 volcanoes from the boat. We drove to Seward and took the Kenai Fjords dinner cruise. Very Nice. We also hiked to Exit Glacier. We highly recommend both trips. Each evening it was great to come back to the Wildwoods. The gas fireplace warmed up the living area and the views from the windows were beautiful. We were able to watch a bald eagle fish on the river and rested on a rock to enjoy his catch. The highlight was the first morning. Lew and I were waiting on the ladies. There were 6 0f us. 2 guys and 4 ladies ???? We decided to walk down to the river and check out the canoe and see what was there. On the way down a HUGE bull moose walked up on us within 10 feet. He looked at us and walked up the path towards the cabin. He stopped in a small cleared area and posed for us. I took a couple of pictures with my phone and when I reached for my camera he took off at pretty good gate. It is hunting season and maybe he thought I was raising a gun. It was a "Worth the cost of the Trip" moment. We all HIGHLY recommend the Wildwood Cabin if you are going to the Kenai area. It is centrally located and Bob was wonderful to work with and to visit with. When we go back it will be to the Wildwood Cabin.
Thank You Bob for being such a gracious host and for sharing your beautiful cabin with us.

Your bull moose encounter was great, although a bit too close! Hope you are able to come back for more some day.
It’s always our favorite place to stay
Beautiful place to stay
2ND Time staying there. Love the quiet location , yet close to everything we what to do the area. Owner is a true artist in putting the cabin together. We hope to be back many more times.
Our family of nine enjoyed our stay in "Wildwoods Cabin" very much. The handmade furniture was absolutely incredible. The view of the river superb. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen well equipped. The use of the canoe was wonderful. We had the Alaskan dream vacation of a lifetime in Robert's cabin. We would love to come back and stay here again as it is centrally located in the Kenai Peninsula with a trip to Homer or Seward less than two hours away. Thank you so much for sharing your artwork of a "cabin" with us! Sincerely the Jones-Sanchez families
