Best Vacation Spot!

  • 5 of 5

My extended family has been renting this property for the past seven years, and we adore it! Kids can run across the street to explore the beach and pier or bike into town for shopping or ice cream. The grown ups enjoy books and beverages on the many decks. The whole family loves sitting down to dinner in the spacious great room/kitchen area and enjoying an after dinner sunset together on the deck. There is fishing and boat access near by, kayaking and hiking opportunities, and museums/thrifting/antiquing. Truly something for everyone. The house is large, beautiful, and comfortable for a big group. We couldn't be happier with it!

Absolutely the best!

  • 5 of 5

Our party of 14 rented this home for a week in August 2009. I can't say enough about the condition and amenities of this home. The owners are great to work with. The home was in great condition and very clean. The rooms are comfortable and, for a large party, there are plenty of bathrooms. This is a hard quality to find in a rental home. The location is spectacular! Very centrally located to many activities. The view is second to none. Try it, you won't find a better deal in a home so large.

beautiful house, perfect location

  • 5 of 5

it is always difficult to choose a house that will satisfy all the members of our extended family. this house was everything we hoped for and more! thirteen of us, ranging from 11 years old to adult enjoyed every minute at this house. the house layout easily allows room for everyone to have their own space. the house was beautifully decorated and appointed, everything we needed was there! the weather was not as warm as we would have liked, but we took advantage of the bikes, the interesting shops in town, and several local beaches for finding petoskey stones and sea glass. the beach across from the house is very well kept, there is a great fire pit there, perfect for s'mores and sunsets.

our family has rented homes in several different states and this house ranked very highly with everyone. the house was clean and there were plenty of linens available. we cannot think of anything that was lacking. actually, the only thing this house is missing is a clever name! relaxing on the deck before dinner is something we truly miss, we definitely hope to visit again.

Great for a large group!

  • 5 of 5

My entire family (11 adults and 7 kids) were able to fit into this house!! A few kids slept on the floor (but they didn't mind!) and the rooms were big enough to allow for it. It's really a beautiful home with a great public beach just across the street. Everything is new in the house and very clean and well kept. The house is on three floors, with the larger kitchen on the top floor, so you get a work out carrying in groceries! But totally worth it!

The beach was never very crowded, plus there was a concession stand and a volleyball net there. There are also tennis courts a block a way, but they aren't in the best shape...we were still able to play though! Downtown Manistee has a lot of old buildings, and it really looks like the shop owners are trying to revive the city. There are some cute stores and lots of potential for more! We kayaked on the Manistee River which was easy and beautiful!

We'd love to stay in this home again!!!!

We are located within the city of Manistee. We are 1 mile from downtown, an easy walk or a quick ride on a bike. We are just steps from the beach and the pier.

Manistee is a wonderful Victorian port city with older buildings and a river walk that stretches from the downtown area to the public beach.

There are golf courses, shopping, restaurants, and the area continues to remain quaint and uncrowded.
