Estes Park Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-7)

This 1935 Cabin retains its old world mountain charm with restored original hardwood floors, cedar wall accents, and split log siding. At the same time it incorporates all modern conveniences necessary for a comfortable stay including a new kitchen, bathroom and energy efficient windows, one of which is a picture window allowing perfect views of the sunrise. Heating units keep the cabin cozy even on chilly nights.

Get away to this quiet retreat just steps away from Rocky Mountain National Park. Why not climb Eagle Cliff Mountain, rising behind the cabin. Or shop the unique stores in quaint downtown Estes Park. In the evenings, relax under the gazebo with 365 degree views of the mountains and watch for the family of deer that meanders through the property most days.

The cabin is open year round, allowing you to experience the beauty of the Rocky Mountains in any season or during any holiday.

About Ruth

My husband & I own the cabin along with my retired parents. My husband is busy as Principal of a K-8 charter school in the Denver area, so my parents and I are the primary managers of the property. My parents were linguists, living in Peru, South America, for over 40 years. I was an English/Writing teacher for years but now work part time out of our home. We love to get away to our mountain retreat and hope that you will enjoy the peaceful quiet as much as we do.

Ruth purchased this cabin in 2009

Why Ruth chose Rocky Mountain National Park

My Great-Great Grandfather was a homesteader in Estes Park. Our branch of the family moved away from Colorado, but my father remembers spending summers in Estes park in the 1940's. Several of our family are living back in Colorado, and now we're thrilled to have a cabin in Estes Park where we can build memories with our children. In our completely unbiased opinion, Estes Park is the most beautiful year round vacation spot in the U.S.

What makes this cabin unique

Because the cabin faces Southeast, I love sitting in front of the picture window and watching the sun rise over the mountains. Likewise, the gazebo offers stunning views at sunset with the clouds turning pink and orange all around. And on full moon nights, the view is spectacular! The full kitchen and gas grill help to make life easy for us: eating dinner outside on the patio is always refreshing. Most afternoons, a family of deer meanders through the property on their way down the mountain. Our children love to climb the mountain behind the cabin and even play cellphone hide-and-seek among the trees, rocks, and outcroppings. As a family, we often walk the 20 minute trail skirting the mountain and ending up at the Moraine Park Museum. From there, we can take the summer shuttle bus almost anywhere in the Rocky Mountain National Park. Also a short walk away but at the bottom of the hill, we can take the free Estes Park shuttle bus into town in the summer and not worry about parking. Other times of year, we are a short 5 minute drive from downtown.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have enjoyed wonderful days in the cabin in Estes Park and in the Rocky Mountain National Park with its magnificent scenery-- appreciated all the more when there is a comfortable "home-away-from-home" to return to in the evening. You have decorated and furnished it so great. Don't think you have missed anything.

Cozy stay for family of 3

  • 4 of 5

This was a great retreat for our small family. My 4 yr old daughter loved sleeping and playing on the bunk bed. Though the cabin is small, it was enough space for us. There was also a nice view out the front window. Clean and comfortable.

Cozy cabin for a couple.

  • 4 of 5

This property is rustic and cozy, perfect for a couple. The location is excellent and the owner was very responsive. Wildlife abounds and the neighbors are congenial too. The cabin is not new, but everything is functional. Amenities like gas, grocery, coffee shop are all close.

Cozy retreat with beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

My week long stay was perfect! It started by meeting the owner who came up to clean the cabin. She allowed me to check in an hour early to accommodate my afternoon plans. She was very friendly and welcoming to me and my dog. She even sprayed the cabin surroundings with a pet safe solution to keep the grounds tidy. I liked that I didn't need a key; you simply need to remember a code to enter the cabin. The cabin itself is very cozy, decorated with a rustic flair, and clean. I was very impressed with the kitchen. There is a lot of counter space and it's equipped to cook almost anything. I just wish it had an actual oven although there is a small toaster oven to use. Dishwasher, crockpot, and beautiful views when standing at the sink as a bonus:) The bed is comfortable and the views out of the back bedroom are breathtaking. The cabin provides several oscillating tower fans to make the summer months comfortable. The gazebo with a gas grill came in handy when I had friends over. 6 of us easily hung out there all evening enjoying good food, beverages and the gorgeous summer weather. Overall, I was very pleased with the cabin and the entire transaction. I will definitely be back! Thank you:)

This cabin is small. My step-dad couldn't really stand-up straight in this cabin, let alone the shower (which was very gross, it's a no wonder the curtains were hiding it in the photos). My parents left 2 days early cause they couldn't stand anymore time there. It was very upsetting. I don't think anyone taller than 5'5 should stay there. The only thing nice about the cabin is the kitchen. We were very disappointed.

Owner's Response: Yes, Cozy Cabin was built in 1935 and is small: 600 sq ft with low 6ft 8in ceilings, small door frames, small bedrooms, and an add-on bathroom. Our 6ft family members are fine, but this cabin is not recommended for taller people. We don't know when the bathroom was added on, but it is admittedly small and basic. We keep it sparkling clean.

There is no better place to relax then on the side of Eagle Cliff Mountain! You can hike into the Rocky Mountain National Park or drive in without having to fight the tourist traffic in town. Eagle Cliff Mountain offers easy access to the YMCA of the Rockies, many nice restaurants and a small corner grocers, once again, without having to fight the tourist traffic in town.
