Absolutely peaceful and quiet. Great place for family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 3rd trip here. We keep coming back! This year we saw turkeys at the end of the drive and even eagles fighting over fish on the flowage. The views are gorgeous, and it’s just peacefully quiet. The kitchen has everything you need to get by, and the house is just so pretty you won’t want to leave. The decor and feeling of home make this place a wonderful retreat. Our kids and dogs love it here. Town really isn’t that far away, so grabbing a bite isn’t any hardship. The owners are also very helpful and always respond when asking for tips on where to visit or just feedback in general. My husband grouse hunts the area while the kids and I stay at the cabin and play. We love it here and can’t wait to come back!

Mixed review

  • 3 of 5

The cabin is in a beautiful location with an awesome view of the river. The issue we have is that there was supposed to be A/C included - one of the reasons we rented this cabin. The owners decided prior to our arrival that the weather forecast did not make it necessary for our needing the A/C units. They removed the units and placed them in a locked area making them unavailable even though the temperature was close to 90 degrees. Sleeping became very uncomfortable due to this decision - the king bed is in the loft. In addition the only good reading area is in the loft bedroom where there is a very comfortable chair and a floor lamp. Lighting in the main floor area is not conducive to reading or doing any hand work in a comfortable chair. One concern had to do with telephone service. We were not informed that cell service was not available at the cabin and that there was no land line. For people with children or the elderly this could be an issue.

Beautiful cabin in a peaceful setting

  • 4 of 5

We found the setting along the Flambeau river to be very peaceful. The cabin was very nice and supplied everything we needed. Stephen and Karen were very easy to work with and were very responsive to our questions. In fact, we had an issue with the hot water late one afternoon so I sent Stephen a message. Within one hour he had responded and gave us explicit instructions on how to resolve the issue. That was amazing! The only negative we had was that we found the lighting to be insufficient for our needs - found it difficult to read and to really see well in the kitchen. Brighter overhead lights would be beneficial. It did make the cabin feel more cozy though. I am used to more light in my own home, so I guess it is just a personal preference.

Overall we were very pleased with our stay. We had a little rain the first 2 days, but then the weather was gorgeous for the rest of the week. We came home feeling very relaxed.

Absolutely perfect up-north getaway spot!!!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend getaway! The cabin is well stocked with all of the cookware/utensils we needed for cooking/grilling out... the sunsets each night were stunning from the deck... many birds visited the deck each day... the decor of the whole home is beautiful... and the sleep number bed was a great added bonus!! The hosts were very responsive to answering our questions and we will definitely book here again!!!

Perfect Place for a Restful Getaway

  • 5 of 5

If you’re looking for somewhere to get away and take a break from everyday life this is the place to come. The beautiful craftsmanship and touches of the cabin are only second to amazing views and landscape outside the windows. Stephen is quick to respond and handle any need you have. This will definitely become a retreat we use multiple times a year.

Lovely, peaceful winter getaway

  • 5 of 5

Lovely place with scenic beauty. Even saw eagles flying down the river on multiple occasions! It was great that we could bring our dogs. My husband and I came to xc ski and snowshoe. There were plenty of places within thirty minutes drive from here. The owners were attentive to our well being and checked in with us both before and during out stay to see if we had any questions. Looking forward to returning again sometime.
