Built by my father, grandfather and uncle in 1953. Many wonderful family vacations since
Joan White purchased this cottage in 1953
Not fancy but so cozy with great location and wonderful beach. Our grandchildren would tell you its the best place in the world!! Super nice for a couples get away also-- quiet and in pretty neighborhood for walking or bike riding..
It is fully air conditioned and heated and we do rent year round- by week in summer and shorter or longer periods other times
Great gathering place for families to build lifetime memories.. or perfect for a romantic get away or couples weekend
The cottage is thoughtfully equipped and great for families. The beach is wonderful and only a short walk from the property. The wonderful owner has put a lot of thought into setting-up the house and extras like the gas grill, beach goodies, and even a cooler. The cottage itself has a snug, but well equipped kitchen. There are plenty of extra clean sheets, towels, pillows for the bath and bedrooms. The décor is knotty pine and beach cottage appropriate. The neighborhood is quiet and welcoming.
The Huron area was great and close enough to Sandusky to be convenient. The local IGA makes the drive to Meijer in Sandusky unnecessary and the Rainbow Chinese restaurant is a gem. Also, don't miss Jim's Pizza Box; unusual name, but good pizza. I would pass on the two sit down restaurants in the neighborhood.
Don't let the lack of a lot of recent reviews scare you away if you are interested. Lots of the weeks are "owned" by returning renters some dating back a generation or more. My family has already booked next year!
We loved staying in this cottage - it's very comfortable and convenient, and the kitchen is well-supplied. A washer and dryer were recently added to the cottage. We enjoyed the front porch, the neighborhood is delightful, the beach is a short walk away. The owners put together a helpful binder of area activities and restaurants. There are free concerts at an outdoor pavilion in Huron every Saturday nt, just down from the "5 O'Clock Somewhere" restaurant - where they offer an inexpensive special each evening. We rented a motorcycle from the Harley Shop in Sandusky for a couple days - a fun way to see the area. Overall a wonderfully relaxing week!
We stayed in the cottage the week of june 17-24 and had an excellent vacation. The cottage was very comfortable and the area has alot to see and do in just a week. Thanks Tindale cottage and the owners.
Quiet tree-lined street----- several blocks from beautiful sandy private beach and several blocks from grocery and nice restaurants. Ten to fifteen minute drive from major mall, other stores and restaurants.
20 minutes to Cedar point. Kalahari indoor water park is about 15 minutes.. Hiking- 5 minutes east at Old Woman Creek. Rock N Roll Hall of Fame about 1 hour. Wild Animal Safari about 1 hour.
Golf: There are a number of great golf courses within a few minutes drive of the cottage. For a fun kid day also try Goofy Golf- which also has bumper boats, race cars and an arcade.
