Our Garden Home Guesthouse is a beautiful 1600 square foot, two bedroom two and a half bath house on West 3rd Avenue. Take a short walk to dinner downtown, or enjoy the extensive River Trail that runs along the banks of the Animas just a few blocks from the house. Or just sit on the classic front porch overlooking this quiet old-town Avenue neighborhood lined with huge trees. Feel good about taking a green vacation… this house has a 4.5 KW PV solar system providing 100% of the electricity!!

Garden Home is decorated in a serene garden style with high quality furnishings and original artwork. There is a full kitchen gas range and oven, kitchen aid dishwasher, plenty of dishes and pots and pans to cook a holiday meal for your family. All the little things like coffee, oil, and spices are there to make you feel at home. Also a full sized washer and dryer for your use with supplies provided. Two beautiful bedrooms upstairs have high-end queen sized mattresses for a comfortable nights sleep. There are down comforters and lots of extra towels and linens.

Totally kid and pet friendly with our “Romper Room” full of toys that opens up to a fenced back yard. Your kids and dogs will have a blast exploring the nature trail up the back hill, safely fenced in. We have kids and dogs ourselves so have outfitted the house with plug covers and baby gates.

It is a 30-minute drive to Purgatory (DMR) where you can ski some of Colorado’s best. Or just stay in and make popcorn and take advantage of our comfy leather furniture, DVD Collection, LCD TV with Dish and small library of great books, and of course Wireless High Speed Internet. The downstairs has vaulted ceilings and slate tile floors with in floor heat for your winter comfort. The dining room has a glass door that opens up to a private courtyard covered with a trellis, a great place to have a romantic dinner al fresco.

Location to downtown Durango, the River Trail, the library, and the Recreation Center. This is the best neighborhood in Durango!

What makes this house unique

Quiet old-town neighborhood that is super safe and close to the river trail and downtown. This is a gorgeous house, very family and pet friendly, and the back yard is super private, and now totally fenced for dogs and kids. Also I love how there is an outdoor arbored patio right off the kitchen for indoor/outdoor meals and entertaining. Great Weber BBQ. The beds are new and amazingly comfortable with super nice sheets and great down blankets. Beautiful house, lots of light, great place for a family to enjoy Durango.

The Perfect Home for Gathering Family

The Garden Home was the perfect place for us to headquarter as the groom's family. It's close to town so that while some family members are running errands in vehicles, others can walk uptown to run others or have fun. The house itself was ideal - the patio off the kitchen is a lovely private area for barbecues and entertaining; the kitchen is large enough to accommodate more than one cook, and the bedrooms/bathrooms were large and comfortable. When we go back to Durango for other family occasions, we will definitely stay in Holly's house!

Home Away from Home

My husband, sister, brother in law & I came to Durango for 10 days. Garden Home is very clean, with many items included such as: toilet tissue, kleenix, shampoo, hair dryer, towels. Also kitchen w dishes, cooking items & spices for those who prefer dining in: altho, many good restaurants in town! 3 outside decks (including a tiki bar off kitchen) & a fenced yd for our dog. Even 2 bikes in garage! Did I mention house has solar? Andrea the property manager is there if u need her. (1 time we locked ourselves out & Andrea was there within 30 min)! Location ideal to walk to town & to Riverwalk. Close to mountains as well.! House is vintage, but has been nicely remodeled. Totally loved it & would definitely rent it again. Very comfortable home

Recently stayed at the Garden Home with my family and had a great experience. I can't remember when I've stayed at a more comfortable and welcoming home. The beds were very nice, kitchen was well equipped for making dinners and the living area had plenty of comfy seating. There was an attached garage which was a bonus for storing our bikes. The outdoor space was inviting but unfortunately the weather didn't allow us to take advantage of it. Andrea, the manager, was very helpful and responsive. We plan on staying again next trip.

Perfect family gathering

We came to town to spend time with our adult kids and our new grand baby, 4 generations! This house was the perfect place to gather together and enjoy meals, games and conversation. Those heated floors on the first level kept us all nice and toasty and we all want some now:)

The beds were so comfortable and cozy! The bedrooms and bathrooms had everything we needed to feel right at home. The neighborhood was nice and quiet so sleep was very restful.

We are avid cyclists and also starting a cargo bike building company, so with 5 bikes ( 2 of them 10' long!) in tow we were thrilled with the garage! There were 2 bikes with helmets and lights already in the garage, so again we felt right at home. We were able to ride in/ride out with ease thanks to the garage door opener.

It was cold while we were there so we did not get a chance to enjoy the outdoor patio and back yard, but our dog and grand dog sure had fun playing out there! Do heed the advice to check the fence first:) Our 35lb pup was able to escape once, but we found the access point and cut it off. I hope to return in the summer and hold a BBQ for the family as the patio space would be perfect!

Stayed an extra night

Owner is wonderful to work with. She is very accommodating, quick to respond, and helpful with suggestions. This home is conveniently located, very clean and well appointed with everything our family of four (and dog) needed. The bed was so comfy and we appreciated the many pillows. Hope to be back soon.

Comfortable and Cozy

This property was perfect for my wife and our friends. Very comfortable with all the amenities for our short stay in Durango. Just a relatively short distance into downtown, driving or walking. Great neighborhood but keep an eye out for all the deer!
