We are family oriented with 3 children, a son 10 yrs, a daughter 7 yrs and a 2 yr old son.
I am from our beautiful island Barbados and my wife is from the French island of Guadeloupe.
We like the beach, boating, sailing, traveling, and certainly enjoy meeting new people!
Having all amenities close and still able to live in a peaceful and tropical ambiance at the same time; being able to cross the road for a late afternoon swim is a big plus...
We have holidayed in Barbados for many years, always on the south coast in apartment/hotels until we found Muskoka Cottage. Now this is where we will be staying, in the foreseeable future. The Cottage is tucked behind Muskoka House, in its own garden ,where there is a mango tree and coconut palm. It is a lovely private and tranquil space. In the Cottage there is everything you would expect in a private Cottage, let alone a holiday cottage, for a very comfortable stay. Although we spent a large amount of our time outside, on the patio where there is a gas barbeque.
The beach is a short walk away across the road, that same road is where you can get a bus or route taxi to Bridgetown and other parts of the Island.
Rockley/Accra beach and St. Lawrence gap are both within walking distance.
Overall a brilliant holiday!
We were lucky to find this secluded cottage last year on a visit to Barbados. We reached out to the owners and they made our decision to stay there very easy. What a great spot. Secluded, private yet convenient to almost everything. We loved the visits from the monkeys and the peaceful setting of the backyard. Cottage is well stocked for cooking, if so inclined, but there are terrific restaurants within easy reach. Shopping, easy - just walk around the corner and there is a great supermarket. Buses are at the end of the street and will take you anywhere for $2:00. Upon arrival we were greeted with a lovely smile and warm welcome. Easy to communicate with the property manager who took great care of us. We hope to return again and again to this piece of heaven.
We lived in Barbados for 3 years in the late 1990s and so have a vacation there every winter. We prefer the South Coast because it's more the "real" Barbados than the West Coast. We found Muskoka by accident on a previous visit and thought it to be a great location, so we booked our last winter vacation there. What a great place. Very convenient for the generally very quiet Worthing beach, or only a few minutes walk to the more lively Rockley beach and the end of the south coast boardwalk. There are local bus services and supermarket just down the road - and Mojo's bar about 50 metres away! It's on a cul-de-sac, so no through traffic and very quiet. The apartment itself is well equipped and comfortable and plenty of storage space. Outside, there is a super deck and garden area which is not at all overlooked and very peaceful.
My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon and first Christmas in Barbados at the Muskoka Cottage. We can't say enough good things about our vacation to Barbados and this includes our accommodations. This cottage was a perfect one bedroom getaway that was close to everything you need, while still offering quiet privacy. The most amazing part is how close it is to some of the most beautiful beaches. This is the perfect spot to stay. Steven, the owner, was a great help with any questions you have and an all around great host. Stay here and you will not be disappointed!
We stayed at Muskoka Cottage for 11 nights in August. The cottage had everything we needed air-conditioned bedroom, well equipped kitchen, barbecue, nice patio, large private yard and walking distance to all amenities. The cottage is clean and very tastefully decorated. There is a great supermarket only a block a way. If you don't feel like cooking there are several reasonably priced eating establishments nearby. Great beaches within walking distance. We rented a car for 2 days to explore other parts of the island. Steve and Severine were great hosts. Steve offered lots of information on what to see and do on the island and also responded promptly when we had a problem with the air-conditioning.
If you want a relaxing holiday on Barbados with the ability for self-catering this is the place to stay. We would definitely rent this cottage again. Also, check out Steve's beach front cottage on the east coast for a different holiday experience.
My husband and I planned a last minute trip to Barbados and reached out to the owners of Muskoka Cottage. I must say they are a fine and true example of the kind of hospitality and warmth you can expect from the people of Barbados. Steve and Severine made it happen for us! This was our first time to the island and I can't think of a better place we could have stayed. This is a one-bedroom cottage but had we decided to bring our 3-year old there still would have been enough room for a child. The location is central to everything! It's clean, quiet and spacious. It is equipped with wi-fi and a supermarket literally is in walking distance. The south coast is the place to be. We ended up still being able to explore the rest of the island on a tour from Andy. If you want to be within steps of the beach, walking distance to everything from bars and shops to the supermarket and restaurants - and still have the privacy you won't get from a hotel - this is it! Can't say enough about it. We loved it.
Thanks, Steve and Severine!
