What makes this house unique

Waimea Bay has some of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Oahu. It is great for snorkeling in the non-winter months. Jump rock is great fun for the brave. The water is so clear and beautiful. The beach is very large and most of the bay is a sand bottom. Waimea Bay has a peaceful country feel.

House History: the home was originally owned by the late Pro surfer Mark Foo.

2nd. time better than the first

  • 5 of 5

2 Adults & 2 Teens made this great value rental our home for the 2nd. time. We love the North Shore. It is so laid back compared to Honolulu. Our kids are big fans of LOST, we visited the beach set for LOST, along with the "OTHERS" camp, which are all nearby. My wife and daughter even ran into John Locke (Terry ODonell) at the local Starbucks one morning. There are so many beaches to choose from on the North Shore, some almost deserted. The rental was perfect for us. everything that you would expect to be supplied is there and even some extras, such as coffee beans from John's coffe shop in Haleiwa. We went on many day trips, and took in many of the sights and activities available on the Island. We had to make daily visits for shaved ice in Haleiwa! Can't wait till our next visit to Oahu!

Staying in Donna's house was nice. She met us when we arrived and talked over everything with us. She made us feel at home. It was easy to get everywhere we wanted to go from her place. I would recommend it to anyone.

Can I PLEASE Stay longer!!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

I love this rental, and is my second time staying here. Donna is a great host and very helpful with island tips and pointers for things to do, and places to go. Myself, my Mom and 17 year old son were the occupants in the bottom rental for 8 days. We love the location, right in the middle of the awesome north shore, a very small town country feel....which is exactly what we wanted. We will definitely come back, as a matter of fact I'm already making plans to! You will enjoy this place....Aloha!

Great location, lovely front porch

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for just over a week and loved it. I didn't realize how much I valued a porch (especially with the rocking chairs!) until I spent every free moment of our vacation out there. Perfect for enjoying our morning coffee and again later in the afternoon/evening after the sun isn't shining directly on it. I was sad to discover that the closest bit of ocean had no beach (only large rough volcanic rocks), and we had to walk along the busy road (or do a hike that included treacherous bits of very rough and steep terrain) to get to Waimea Bay, but we still enjoyed this location. We made use of the grill and had a couple dinners on the porch, as well as visiting many of the local food trucks and restaurants. Overall a great vacation and I can't wait to get back. Donna's hospitality was outstanding. As one example, we panicked and didn't see the coffee grinder in the cabinet (after getting back from grocery shopping with some whole bean coffee), and sent Donna a quick email. She replied while we were out that she thought there was one there, but dropped off her personal one for our use just in case. Mahalo to Donna for the great hospitality and all the advice on what to do and see!

Our home is built on a lava outcrop on the south side of Waimea Bay. Near by is an ancient Hawaiian Heiau. Waimea Valley is a very special place with a long history of a thriving Hawaiian community.

During summer months Waimea Bay beach is a peaceful ocean playground. Relaxing along the aqua blue water and sandy beach of Waimea Bay will be a treasured experience.

During the winter months Waimea Bay has some of the largest surfing waves on Earth. This break is where the famous invitation only Eddie Aikau surf contest is held. The first place purse is $55,000 which goes to the surfer who has the highest points. In order for the contest to be held Waimea Bay needs to be breaking at minimum of 20 feet.

Other Activities: Hunting for Sea shells.

Golf: The Turtle Bay Hilton 15 minutes north of our unit features a Arnold Palmer course. This course is located along a beauitful beach.
