The Tennessee River Gorge has always been our dream since it has everything. Mountains, water fun and gorgeous views.
The quietness and serenity of being close to the water are amazing. Going down our road you can see a few goats, wild turkeys, many deer, and chickens. The drive goes through a beautiful Prentice Cooper wildlife management area and is wonderful forest.

My mother and son and I stayed two nights at the Loft and we loved it. The owners made us feel welcome as if we were their family. The breakfast was super and the views and environment were awesome. We enjoyed the dock and the access to the river. I would definitely stay here again!!
We had the best time at the Loft!
Our family enjoyed cooking out, picnics on the boat dock, snorkeling and swimming in the river, along with kayaking and fishing. We ventured off to Chattanooga for some sightseeing and dinners out.
Susan and Jerry were wonderful hosts - and the breakfasts were amazing!
Our accommodations were more than what we expected and we certainly plan to refer our friends to the Loft!
Thank you again for a great week!
Susan and Jerry are wonderful people. This was a wonderful experience. The Loft was very comfortable and felt like home. It was very nice to spend the evenings teaching our son how to fish off the dock. The room was clean and well stocked with linens. There is a fridge, microwave, toaster oven and grill access. There is a tv and pull out couch.
As for breakfast, Sudan is a great cook and brings you something different every morning. The scones are amazing! Thank you again Susan and Jerry for a very memorable vacation.
This was a surprise trip for an early Mother's Day and we absolutely had a blast. If you love the outdoors this is the place to be. Beautiful scenery great breakfast couldn't have asked for better hospitality from Susan and Jerry. We will definitely be coming back.
My wife and I wanted to get away to celebrate Valentines day--well, we missed the real date by a week, but it was worth the wait! We highly recommend this unique place. We are pretty well seasoned B&B'ers--we've pretty much seen it all--and this spot is right up there with the best! Even the ride out the river road is a memorable slice of southern Americana. There's literally no telling what you may see--and if you're a city dweller, I guarantee things will take you by surprise. Among them in our case were the huge doe foraging near the road back to town, who, as if on cue, bounded across the pavement in front of us and back into the woods, almost flying over the underbrush as if weightless. I'm certain it was the same doe that we saw at the same place for two days in a row. Then there was the barn owl with a wingspan of over 3 feet who glided in front of us to land on a low branch in a still naked tree, turning his head around to examine us with his huge haunting eyes. You have to find your way out of town a bit to encounter sights like that.
The room was immaculate, and Susan's breakfasts were wonderful. Personally, I think she could go to the English countryside and give the local Brits scone making lessons--- ;-), among other things! Her scratch biscuits are another classic bit of southern Americana. If you're not from the south, hers are perfect examples of what a biscuit should look, feel, smell, and taste like. Shoot--everything she made was out of this world!
Look--we came in mid February when it was freezing outside and there wasn't a leaf on a tree or a flower to be found--but it was still fantastic. We can't wait to come back when it's warmer so that we can go out on the river with Jerry. We could have probably gone out on this visit, if we had asked, but we didn't pack for the first cousin of an Alaska cruise---- ;-) All in all, if you want a quiet, laid-back escape from the "real world," we give this place 5 stars and all four thumbs up!
