The Cabin looks better in person than the pictures. The place is amazing! Very clean, spacious and cozy. The owner Robert was extremely nice and accommodating. We went to go Ski at Cascade mountain from Chicago for a few days and stayed at the cabin with 7adults and 3 kids, and we all slept comfortably. I would recommend Cabin in the Woods to anyone.

Beautiful cabin, but disputed damage charge

  • 1 of 5

We are two families that stayed at Cabin in the woods for a weekend getaway.

-the cabin is absolutely beautiful. The pictures don’t do it justice.

-the property is huge, and is also stunning. It was cold when we were there so we didn’t get to enjoy the outside, but it was clearly a gorgeous place.

-the space was immaculate, and well taken care of.

-beds were comfortable and lots of room for kids to play.

-Bob was very easy to work prior to our stay, answered our questions and was flexible re check in.

-we left our bathing suits and Bob kindly mailed them.

-I’ve been a VRBO member for many years, and I’ve never written a bad review. I gave this review one star for one main reason - the damage charge we incurred when we left. Apparently there was a spill by the trash area, and the floors are so sensitive that this left a mark. I don’t dispute that there was a mark left - however, it is a reasonable expectation that the trash area will experience spills. My suggestion to Bob is if the floors are that sensitive and susceptible to damage, re locate the trash area or put some matting down to protect the floor. We paid the charge because I recognize we are ultimately responsible, but I don’t think it’s fair. This is unfortunate because I think we would have come back to the property many times to use for vacation.

Owner's Response: Amber, Thank you for your pros and cons review. We work hard to ensure that all our guests have the same experience of a clean and well maintained property upon their arrival. We consistently work at making the cabin "child proof" so no one has there stay spoiled by unwanted accidents. As for the damage that occurred during your two night stay, it appears to us that the "mark" / swelling of the floor joints came from the neglect of two adult families not putting there recyclables in the properly provided containers outside but, instead in a leaky box next to the garbage container. Now, somehow you have convinced yourself that my damaged floor problem is "now my fault". We granted your wishes of an extended check out time of 90 minutes on Sunday. We incurred extra cleaning of pulling bedding, picking up of dirty laundry, cleaning of burnt stove stop, dirty dishes and excessive cleaning of a dirty floor. With that said, I am amazed that you would think that a small cleaning and maintenance fee per contract is "unfair". This untimely incident cost us time, money, headache and worst yet an I sore for all to see until repaired. We have been renting for 8 years and haven't had any problems with the placement of the garbage / plastic container until now. I would suggest since you use VRBO so much that you may want to except there insurance offer that is provided at a minimal fee per visit. Thank you Your friends at Cabin -n- The Woods

Great cozy cabin with hot tub!

  • 5 of 5

Loved the girlfriend and I spent a long weekend there in late October. The leaves were changing, and we loved our stay! We took full advantage of the awesome hot tub, and enjoyed some local nature coming to say hi now and then. The place is roomy and super nice...plenty of nice amenities, and a very comfortable bed! We also liked getting cozy with the fireplace that faces the kitchen and living room. We’ll be back the next time we are in the area!

Great getaway for couple or families

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a cabin to spend a weekend away to celebrate our 20 year anniversary. The Cabin -N- the Woods was more beautiful than the pictures even show! It was immaculate and stunning! Even though it rained most of the weekend we were there, we still had so much to do in the area. Bob was great and was so helpful providing us with ideas and directions. After a day out, it was great to come back to a fire and relax in the hot tub under the covered porch and listen to the rain. We had such an amazing time we didn’t want to come home! We will definitely be back with the family!

Just what we needed

  • 5 of 5

We were looking fir a relaxing get away weekend and thats exactly what we got at cabin n the woods. As everyone has stated the cabin is beautiful and spotless Even though it was only the two of us there was pkenty of room for a group. Everything you could want was available in the kitchen. Being someone who enjoys to cook I appreciated the high end quality found in the apolicances and utensils. Too warm to enjoy the fireplace or fire pit but we loved the jacuzzi. Plenty to do in the area but we chose a unwind romantic weekend. Bob was great with all our questions and look forward to staying again next year.

Anniversary retreat

  • 5 of 5

With two young kids, busy careers, and active schedules, my husband and I were looking for a weekend away to recharge. This was the perfect place for us to do just that. There were a number of times that we would just sit & enjoy the silence. We took advantage of hiking through some of the property, watched the sunset from the hot tub, read next to the fireplace, cooked together in the kitchen. It was incredible! Bob was very gracious & helpful. It's evident that Bob & family love the cabin in the way that they take great care of the place. They thought of every last detail. The photos don't do the cabin justice; it is breathtaking inside & out. We can't wait to visit again with our children and without.
