Our 'sweet home Alabama' home on smith lake has 5 bedrooms, 4 baths, including 2, kitchens, 2 dining rooms, 2 living rooms, 2 laundry rooms, 1 den, and tons of closets.
The home has 4500 square feet including 2 large glassed in sun porches, 1 large porch and 2 large decks for outdoor cooking. There is 1 large deck at waters edge for more relaxation. The boat house has 3 boat slips with hydro hoist lift in two slips, and also a personal watercraft dock. The swim dock is 12x20' with a ladder. The home is located on the main lake channel. Duncan bridge marina is across the lake. Duncan bridge is just one half mile north of the home. Smith lake has 500 + miles of shoreline with 20,000+ acres of water.
The home lot is one acre with 165' of waterfront. Bass and stripe can be caught from the swim dock. The home has 2 king beds, 2 queen beds, 1 double bed. Also has a double carport. The home is 1/2 mile off highway 257 north, on Battlecreek road.

Our family has owned a home on smith lake since 1970. The lake is the cleanest and clearest anywhere. The area around Jasper was a perfect place to raise my children, who now have their own families.
Fishing, boating and water skiing when i was young. you can catch bass and stripe off the swim dock. One of my grandsons caught a 36 pound stripe last year, but not off the dock.
We are all in our 60,s and enjoyed the serenity and beauty of your family lake house.We loved the screened in porch an all of us being able to gather in one place. May God bless you all.
Our stay at your home was great! It had everything that we could think of. The boat rental was excellent. We had plenty of room. We had 4 families with children and everyone had plenty of room. Thanks for letting us stay at your home!
Thought I was dealing with an owner, and all was fine despite some lag in the communication of the arrangements and access code; until arrival. Property was in an ideal location for us, and on a good lot with deep water access. However, the property is dated and in need of repair/updating. To have so many maintenance issues, and see a for sale sign out front tells you this property will not likely be improved. It had one bad review, but I missed that in the rush to book.
There were surprisingly lots of fire life safety code issues, that I am really surprised to see on a rental. The smoke detector, the one I found in Living Area outside the kitchen, did not work. I did not see one on the basement level. There were no ground fault disconnects in any areas near the sinks. The upstairs dryer was FULL of lint and the case of the dryer had a fine lint dust all inside as far as a finger could explore which presented a definite fire hazard (remember smoke detector?), which was texted to the "owner".
Additional issues were missing grout on main floor, cracked tile outside on walk, and lots of moisture in the house that was very unpleasant on the basement level. Duct tape on downstairs windows to help seal them helps explain the dampness there. Screen doors on the main floor (top) both were missing handles and had zip ties in place for opening them, with signs on some doors that they were broken and not to use.
Oh, after thinking we left a wallet there I called the number the "owner text" had come from and a younger lady answered the phone. Seemed to be a management company.
Too many issues for the price charged, and lacking modern TVs or wireless connectivity at this cost is not really excusable. With a sliding price point that seemed to go up with more guest, I would not recommend it for anyone!
Owners were very easy to work with and communicated well. House has been neglected and in need of repairs and TLC. Both screen doors off of the sun porch were broken and tub in upstairs bath did not hold water for little ones baths. The spiral staircase is a problem when you have small children. Owners may need to check behind cleaning crew. There were lots of spider webs, bugs and dirt in corners, and tubs and the windows on sunporch (especially downstairs)
The view and lake were excellent. House was clean. Held a crowd of people very comfortably and provided a good spot for a family reunion.
What a wonderful home & we had a fabulous stay! The home has everything you need and perfect for 2 families to stay (full upstairs & full downstairs) . Great convenience to rent the deckboat too! Couldn't have asked for a better set up & owner was quick to contact for set up and details. None of us wanted to leave.

Our stay at your home was really excellent. It had everything that you would need with plenty of room. We had 4 families and two small girls. The Owner was very polite and personable. The only item that we did not have were candles (that we could find in the dark). One evening a storm blew up and the electricity went out for five hours. The neighbor brought over a couple of candles, which we were very thankful for. We also brought our pontoon boat which the owner let us use his boat slip and took his to the marina. Very nice of him. A really great get away house.
Duncan Bridge Marina is just across the lake. There are a lot of restaurants and grocery stores in the area CHECK IN 3.00PM , CHECK OUT 10.00 AM.
