About the property

Condo, 3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

The Kohala Coast, former playground of Hawaiian kings, is the sunniest part of the Big Island with over 340 days of sunshine per year. Only 18 miles north from Kona International Airport, this quick drive north will transplant you into another realm of island bliss. Why rent an expensive hotel when you can stay in a beautiful 1800 square foot "home"?

The Waikoloa Colony Villas are a 30 minute drive north of Kona-Kailua and situated on 22 acres of lush, tropical landscape and next to the 10th fairway of the Waikoloa Beach Golf Course, designed by Trent Jones, in the exclusive Waikoloa Beach Resort. It is a private and gated community with 2 swimming pools, lava rock waterfall, Jacuzzi spa, tennis court and an air-conditioned fitness center. The Waikoloa Hilton, just down the street from us, is a quick 10 - 15 minute walk from the condo and the Marriott is another 5 minutes or so.

Your home away from home is beautiful and spacious; perfect for families, couples or friends traveling together. With over 1800 square feet this roomy 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 2 story villa is tastefully adorned with island flair and is in pristine condition. You can't help but feel relaxed and rejuvenated with no one above or below you; there is privacy, peace and quiet. Located near the 2nd pool, our condo has a garden view and from the lanai there are both garden and mountain views.

The main living areas and a half bath are on the first floor. All bedrooms are upstairs with a full bath in the master suite and another full bath, across the hall, shared by the two guest rooms. A new, stacked, high efficiency washer/dryer is also upstairs in the laundry closet with beach towels, an iron and ironing board.

A fully equipped kitchen features granite countertops, Whirlpool appliances and everything you will need to make it a breeze to prepare meals. Four bar stools sit at the counter, the formal dining area seats 6 comfortably and the living room with it’s two sofas, chaise lounge, big screen HD TV/DVD player, stereo with CD player and iPod dock is a wonderful place to relax. Wireless, high-speed internet service is available as well as a wireless HP printer/copier. Beautiful artwork completes the look.

We have a Pack 'n Play for a little one as well as a "booster" chair and baby gate.

All bedrooms have flat screen TV’s with DVD players, clock radios with MP3/ iPod docks and ceiling fans.

You will love the master suite with handsome Tommy Bahama furniture, king bed, and walk-in closet; flat screen TV with DVD player. Décor is elegant tropical styling. The master bath has dual marble sinks, tub and separate walk-in shower; plenty of drawers for personal items. Hair dryers are in both bathroom upstairs.

The 2nd (middle) bedroom has 2 twin beds which can be combined to make a king bed. The 3rd bedroom is cozy with a queen bed, desk and chair. Both bedrooms also have flat screen TV's with DVD players.

There is no maid service at this condo. For those of you staying more than 2 weeks, I can put you in touch with our housekeeper for touch up cleaning.

If you would like grocery items upon your arrival or need something you forgot, we have someone who can help with that. Additional fees apply.

Beach items for your use include boogie boards, snorkel gear, beach towels, beach chairs & umbrellas, beach mats and a soft cooler on wheels. Two tennis racquets and a can of balls are ready when you are – the tennis court is a short walk within the property.

Our villa is minutes from beautiful beaches, championship golf, helicopter tour facility, upscale boutiques, high-end shopping and world class restaurants. Nearby you will find the King’s Shops and Queen’s Marketplace with their many shops, fantastic restaurants, and gourmet grocery store. Hapuna Beach is less than a ten-minute drive away; it's white sand has earned it a reputation as one of Hawaii’s finest beaches, being consistently rated on the numerous international Top Ten lists. Travel just a few minutes more to Mauna Kea Beach which, if you can imagine, is even more beautiful.

Renters must be 25 years of age, children must be accompanied by an adult of that age; no parties in the condo, please.

#2602 is waiting for you…an impeccably maintained villa that is our 2nd home. We have taken great care to provide upscale accommodations for our guests and it will be an honor to share our home with you.

Beautiful Hawaiian memories are waiting to be made here.

We've been coming to the Big Island for several years and fell in love with all it has to offer - especially 340 days of sunshine per year and less than 10' of rain! You can't beat the weather here in Waikoloa and the location lends itself to easy day trips exploring the rest of this beautiful island. We hope you will enjoy our home as much as we do and look forward to having you as our guests. Email or call Cindy for a quote. Mahalo!

Guestbook comments from the manager

From the guest book ..."On tsunami watch - exciting for sure! Snorkel tour with Sea Quest, they were great with our kids. Ask for Capt. Joey and First Mate Dave! Hapuna Beach, nicknamed sunburn beach by our kids. Use more sunscreen than you think is necessary! They loved boogie boarding there. Mauna Kea Beach is beautiful & great for snorkeling. We enjoyed Lapakahi Historical Park, driving to the falls on the east side and relaxing at the end of the day in the pool. Ate mostly at the condo; loved the Kona Canoe Club. Good food with a beautiful sunset view.

Anuenue in Kawaihae has the best shaved ice on the island! The condo had everything we needed. Our children said they loved it because it felt like home... So did my husband and I! It was a wonderful place to come home to after a day of exploring! Cindy has been wonderful to work with.

So happy we stayed here

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the Waikoloa Colony Villa for two weeks (Jan-Feb) and can highly recommend it to families (ours included grandparents, kids and grandkids, 8 and 11 years). This is a gated, secure, super quiet, friendly neighbourhood with sunny, breezy days, and cool nights. It is ideally located north of Kailua Kona traffic and VOG, a central hub for excursions to all parts of the Big Island. We planned many day trips to Volcano, Hilo, Hawi and Kona, with alternate days relaxing on the A Bay beach, swimming, snorkelling, turtle and whale-watching. There are beach toys, umbrella and chairs for 5, and of course, the surprisingly cool pool for refreshing dips after the day's activities.

We also enjoyed the local Queens Marketplace with special events, such as Asian Fest, the charming Hula performance on Monday, Island Gourmet for small supplies of toilet paper and drinks, Ocean Sports for whale watch and beach toys, the Crocs store for beach shoes.

The villa itself is a perfect two storey layout: upstairs you have 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (the Master bathroom is huge!) with an extra large laundry pair; downstairs is a comfortable living and dining area, large kitchen with ample pots, knives, tools and tableware for meals "at home". We found a generous supply of soap, shampoo, tissues, bath and beach towels, as well as left-behind food items, including condiments, sauces and salad dressings, bottled water, coffee, etc. but no bugs! If you've been to the tropics you know how unusual that is!

Cindy's very personal attention to customer service is also outstanding. She provided us with pre-visit tips on things to do, places to eat, etc., and easy to follow directions, house rules and instructions. She also made contact with us during the visit to make sure we were happy with everything and responded promptly when we had a question about using the AC. We travel to Hawaii every winter and stay in rental condos but we rarely feel so welcome! Thank you Cindy for sharing your lovely home in paradise.

Lacking on staples

  • 4 of 5

Unit missing staples to enjoy cooking, no standard salt, pepper etc. no toys for beach or pool. Unit was basic compared to others we have rented in same properties. Enjoyed the layout with master upstairs. Location was great, very nice complex.

Owner's Response: I'm so sorry, there may have been a miscommunication. We do not supply salt/pepper/spices but on occasion, guests will leave these items for others to use. What we do supply is provided with other condo info sent to renters 1 week prior to arrival and also listed on our web site Thanks for your feedback. Cindy

Wonderful, peaceful, delightful condo

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at many condos in the Waikoloa area for several years and find that this unit was very well decorated and kept. The condo was situated in an exclusive gated area of Waikoloa, and has many amenities to take advantage of during our stay. We were very comfortable and the unit included everything needed when it came to cooking; the kitchen having everything we needed including cookware, bake ware, cutlery and beautiful dinnerware. We entertained a local friend for dinner and we were not embarrassed with mis-matched dinnerware. Actually, we were complimented on what a nice presentation we were able to pull off in a rental! We usually ate many meals on the lanai, but the Trade Winds were extremely high this visit. With the high winds, we were able to relax by the pool and enjoy being there and not forced to go in early because of the heat. We appreciated the AC when the trade winds calmed down. All of the bedrooms and main living area have ceiling fans to make it comfortable.

The pool was very close to our unit. It was extremely quiet during our visit, and we never run into other visitors while at the pool. The grounds around the unit were extremely well cared for, and beautiful Plumeria and Hibiscus were gracing the landscaping. We were close to two shopping centers and the newly opened A-Bay was just a short drive away, close to the Lava Lava Beach Club. One of the wonderful things about staying up in the Waikoloa area is the sunshine. The sun shines there more than you will see it shine down in Kona. It’s well worth the extra drive.

Right from our first questions about the condo, the owners were quick to respond and excellent in answering our questions. The owners were very responsive to emails and always pleasant and willing to address concerns. I cannot express enough how much the owners wanted us to have a true Hawaiian experience at their home.

I highly recommend this rental. It is spacious and well maintained. It is truly a home away from home. You’re not in want of anything while staying here; you can settle in, relax and enjoy your vacation. This is a great value for your vacation budget.
