The kitchen is fully equipped and up to date. Wood burning fireplaces in both family areas to provide warmth and ambiance during the cooler months. About Barbara Smith

I am a happy owner of this beautiful cabin and hope you can enjoy it as much as we do. We rave about the outside, but the inside is new, warm and inviting.- My dream mountain. home- We want to share God's blessings with you.

Barbara Smith purchased this cabin in 2010

Why Barbara Smith chose North Georgia Mountains

I found out what breathtaking really means. Literally my breath was taken away by the view at this all wood cabin. The kitchen is better appointed than our home in Fla. The view from inside is gorgeous too.

What makes this cabin unique

The view is absolutely what sold me on this property. I love sitting on the porch and reading morning, noon, or night. The sunrise can be breathtaking as well.

Peaceful and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was so cozy and warm, we felt right at home the moment we walked in. The upstairs bedroom had screens you could close over the French doors so you could sleep with the doors open. It was extremely clean. The views were amazing. We spent most of our time on the porch in the rocking chairs looking out over the lake and mountains. Barbara was extremely helpful and responsive.

Loved the view. The cabin had all the essentials we needed! The road was steep for our trans am but we managed. The humming birds were so fun. We had 8-10 at any given time fighting for the feeders. Very fun and relaxing!! Thanks to the owners for sharing their cabin. Trip of a lifetime!

Peaceful Family Christmas

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a private mountain retreat where we could spend time reconnecting with our children who live internationally. This home was a perfect setting for our family Christmas. Plenty of space, yet a cozy cabin feel. Spacious kitchen counter that was perfect for many hands helping to bake Christmas treats. Views were magnificent and ever-changing based on the weather. Proximity to Blue Ridge is great for the occasional attack of cabin fever. Overall, a wonderful home offering many amenities that made for a wonderful family get away.

Phenomenal View!

  • 5 of 5

We are so grateful for our time in Blue Ridge. This cabin is within 10 minutes of downtown but high enough up to have the best view we've ever enjoyed in Blue Ridge. The home was comfortable and exceptionally clean. The homeowners could not have been kinder and more helpful with us. It does sleep a number of persons but only awareness is that there is a queen and 2 twins in the open loft area. However, there are 2 bedrooms with comfortable queen beds. The "family room" with fireplace is large and full of windows so as to enjoy the view. Truly beautiful! Thank you for the pleasure! We hope to return!

Comfortable home, well furnished, gorgeous view; 4.5 stars

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful place for a get-away. The view of the lake is lovely and changes constantly with the Sun, clouds, rain, fog, and wind. Every time you look, the lake and mountains have taken on a new personality. It's a great place to view the Fall colors.

The house itself has all the amenities a couple needs to allow them to just relax and enjoy the privacy, the view, and the clean fresh air.

The road up to the cabin is 'interesting'. I've driven roads with hairpin turns before so I had no trouble climbing the steep, narrow road in my manual transmission Mazda. You don't need a jeep. But be aware it could be a challenging climb for inexperienced drivers.

I gave this place 5 stars, but there are a few minor 'misses' that could be easily fixed:

1. Both coffee makers require the Melita #4 V-shape coffee filters, but the only filters provided were the standard Mr Coffee type. I made small pots of coffee to avoid an accident.

2. NOT ENOUGH TOWELS. (??) I could only find 2 set of towels for each bathroom. That was ok for our morning showers the first day, but what about using the Hot Tub that night? And what about using the shower and hot tub the next day? Guests should NOT have to wash and dry the towels every day.

3. GREEN firewood. Really green. I've used fireplaces for years, and even though I brought firesticks and kindling to get the logs going, I still wound up with a room full of smoke and had to open the door and windows. It took about 2 hours for the wood to dry out enough to really start burning hot before I could think about adding any more logs.

4. The hot tub cover can't be fully lifted off. I had to lift it mostly off and hope it didn't fall back on us. The lights in the hot tub weren't working. The plastic step to get into the hot tub is kind of 'cheesy'. It needs to be replaced with a larger, solid set of wood steps.

--These 4 items aren't show-stoppers. Visitors just need to be aware - but more importantly the cabin owners ought to make these few changes so that the cabin can get the SIX stars it deserves.

Owner's Response: The coffee filters have been used for 5 years in that pot. We just added a new coffee pot didn't realize the filters don't fit but the other one can use filters provided. I left 2 sets of extra towels under each sink plus 3 in master bath. I thought that was enough for 2 people. I had no control over the wood delivery and had asked renter to bring starters. I am sorry I did refuse his offer to bring wood. I have asked housekeeper to check lid to hot tub since I had not heard of a problem. The deck has lights near the hot tub.
