Our beautiful second row beach house is perfect for your family vacations. It is located on a wide stretch of IOP Beach with beach access right across the street from our driveway. Enjoy morning coffee or evening drinks in our large sun room/screened porch. Second floor: Large Family Room w/ a 42 inch TV, a DVD player; Spacious, well stocked kitchen w/ a stove top, two ovens and a kitchen table that seats four; Large Dining Room w/ a stereo and a table that seats up to ten; Master BR w/ a King bed, full bathroom, TV, DVD; Second BR w/ a King bed; Second full bathroom; Third BR w/ Queen and a day bed and pull out trundle bed (two twins); Ceiling fans in all bedrooms. Large two-sided Sundeck with a table and chairs on one side of the porch and lounge chairs on the other and a limited ocean view. 1st Floor: BR w/ Queen; 2nd BR w/ 4 twins, TV, DVD, stereo, phone; full bath; ceiling fans; washer & dryer. Wireless access is available in the house.

ACTIVITIES:Two championship golf courses are minutes away in Wild Dunes along with tennis and the resort restaurants. Other local activities include fishing, shelling and beach walking. Bike and umbrellas rentals are available on the island and pontoon boat and wave runners rentals can be secured at the Isle of Palms marina.

AREA: Charleston is a 20 minute drive to wonderful restaurants like Magnolia's (sea scallops), Anson's (BBQ grouper), 82 Queen (shrimp and grits), Fulton 5, Oak Steakhouse, Hank's and Coast - just to name a few. Try a carriage ride around the city to see the real architecture, history and character of the city. The best shops are on King Street or in and around the famous market area. In Mt. Pleasant, try the Red Drum or the Mustard Seed. On the IOP, try the Long Island Cafe for she crab soup and the Sea Buscuit for breakfast or lunch. On Sullivan's Island, there are good pubs such as Poe's.

I've been coming to these beaches since I was in HS and have always enjoyed them. It has always been my dream to own a beach home and eventually move here. This house fulfills my dream.

Why Jim Smitherman chose Charleston Area

The Isle of Palms has a wide, hard sand beach that's ideal for laying out, walking or running, riding bikes or making sand castles. The descent into the ocean is very gradual so you don't have to worry about getting over your head quickly. By itself, the IOP is a great beach. What makes it really special is being only 20-25 minutes away from an incredible city like Charleston.

What makes this house unique

3505 Palm Blvd has a very comfortable layout. We've stocked the kitchen with the type of pots, pans and accessories that we'd want back home so it handles the needs of a large group well. Our porch that's ideal for morning coffee or evening card playing and drinks. Beach access is directly across the street so we enjoy a short walk to the beach. The beach in front of us is one of the widest stretches on the island and it's away from the crowded public beach near the connector bridge so you'll always have plenty of space on the beach.

Our family, from Virginia and California, appreciated the perfect house and the attention we received from Jim. The house, so bright and open, so perfectly clean and comfortable -- access to the beach -- plenty of parking -- large kitchen completely stocked -- comfortable beds -- ample seating in living room -- we loved the large screened porch -- grocery store and restaurants nearby -- easy to get to sights in Charleston -- I wouldn't change a thing! This house will definitely be our first choice for a return visit by our family.

Tennis Girls

We had a group of 11 gals that came down for the Volvo/Family Circle Cup Tennis. This is our second year at Jim's house. Plenty of room, plenty of beds, plenty of seating, well-stocked kitchen. Super close walk to the beach!!! Love the retro bathrooms (and they are clean). Jim always gives welcome attention and tends to anything that may arise. I think the only negative about the house is being on Palm Blvd -- the traffic is heavy, but on normal beach days it just doesn't matter. Thank you Jim - Good luck to you and your endeavors!

Spring Beach Weekend

There was 10 of us -- and it was our first time in this property. We had a great time and enjoyed the spaciousness of the house -- especially the wonderful screened-in porch. Jim was a great host, checked on us and made the reservation easy. The location is wonderful for the beach and for excursions - it is perfect for large groups and families. We would definitely return!

Family Reunion-Twice!

We have stayed at this house twice now. The first time in 2012 when our daughter got married and then the same week, 4 years later for another family reunion....this time with a grandson! We live in CA and the other family members were from Ohio, Indiana and NC. Both times we had a wonderful was perfect, owner, Jim, was caring and the beach was directly across the street! We now have grandchild #2 arriving in August and we hope to return again in the future. It's part of our fond memories of seeing family together in a beautiful environment! Thanks again!

Wonderful Beach Getaway

This beach house is so comfortable, clean and convenient to the beach. You can even hear the ocean from the lovely enclosed patio on the upper floor. Lot's of privacy, and room for all. The owners are very adamant about making sure you are comfortable in their rental home. We would definitely return to this rental. Thank you Jim and Betsy for a lovely beach trip!
