Thank you so much Sherry! We really enjoyed our stay. It was so quiet - A great place to get my report done. Thanks again and we hope to return sometime.
This is our second stay in this cozy cabin filled with everything you need to relax. We cuddled by the wood stove and watched movies most of the cold weekend. We watched the snow falling out the big picture window Friday evening. We plan to return again next winter and stay longer.
The cabin was great for us - 2 adults and one child. It is small, but everything has its place! Little boy loved the bunk beds. Queen bed in other room is extra cozy, but you'll need like soft beds! Stayed warm with the wood-burning stove, bring your own firewood. You can enjoy walks right from the cabin - either down the hill to the banks of the South Fork of the New River or up some road tracks into the woods from the cabin. We'd stay here again :o)
We went and stayed for what was a big winter storm. DO not go in the winter unless you have a BIG 4 wheel drive. It took us over an hour to dig down the 1/4 mile driveway to get out. Overall the cabin is nice with plenty of supplies. Only 2 things needed fixed. The wall heater barely worked, so I gathered wood and cut it from behind the house to keep warm. The wood stove flue would not open to allow smoke out before adding wood. As a result the hosue got some smoke when we tried to add wood. Not ideal. Everything else was perfect.
Private, clean, not far from town, (check out the cinema and cheese factory). The owners/housekeepers were kind to us prior to our arrival.
Exactly what we needed for our ideal getaway.
Charlie (my little ShihTzu) and I do not want to leave! Ditto on all everyone else said plus the most comfy bed I've ever slept in. Bobby even brought me fire starters when I couldn't find any and had just returned from the store. Can't wait to come back and stay longer.
