Check-in problem

My husband and I drove separately; he was an hour away. But because my husband's name was on the reservation, the office would not let me check in and get the key. We have the same credit card number the reservation was booked under, and all correspondence was through me, and they had my email address on file, but they still wouldn't check me in. The guest paperwork even says: "the credit card charged for the reservation must be present at the time of check-in, along with card holder's ID, in order for you to check-in," but they don't abide by that.

The office made my husband pull over on his drive to send an email to verify his identity. Afterwards, we had to stand around waiting and waiting for the email... Very stressful, unnecessary, and a huge waste of time. My advice is to list all names, ahead of time. Or to not book through Big Bear Vacations at all.

Owner's Response: Thank you for sharing your experience. City Ordinance requires we go through this authorization process. The named person on the reservation MUST be present - not just the card - or the authorization must be completed. All companies are required to abide by this and were asked to attend a seminar at City Hall and to sign an affidavit promising to follow these standards. I apologize the the inconveniences. We would love to have you back for a future stay.
