About Teri Smith

Someone once told me 'Find a job you love & never work a day in your life' Glad I took that advice! Running Chicago Guest House was the BEST decision I ever made in my life!

Looking back, I probably should have taken a lot more good advice; guess it's never too late! :o)

Teri Smith purchased this apartment in 2005

Why Teri Smith chose Chicago

This is not your typical cookie-cutter rental; my personality & style shines through!

My goal has always been to have my Guests experience the sense of having arrived ‘home’ when they walk through the door---to feel as comfortable & relaxed here in Chicago as they do their own home.

Each time I read another testimonial; I think to myself. Mission Accomplished!

What makes this apartment unique

The Guest House on Lakewood Avenue has three apartments, each floor can be rented separately or rent them together for larger gatherings--up to 21.

It's great to all be under one roof, without being on top of one another--the three separate spaces offer privacy when you need it.

And best of all--the little piece of nature outside the back door. The garden is private & peaceful--perfect place to decompress, relax and enjoy.

Super Awesome, Super Sweet! Everything & More!!!

  • 5 of 5

The listing description was very accurate and the place was bigger than what are seen in the photos and what we expected. The location is right in Wrigleyville, a few blocks from Wrigley field, and just 2 blocks from N. Clark Street, the main street of Wrigleyville. The backyard patio is a great place to hang out. I rented a mid-size SUV and it fitted perfectly in the garage, which holds two vehicles. It was so convenient, since I do not have to park on the street.

As I mentioned, the layout is bigger than what is seen in the photos and larger than what we expected. The 3rd floor had two bathrooms and three bedrooms. Everyone was comfortable and space to spread out. My four friends and I were impressed with the amenities and especially the location.

The property is super clean and had a well-equipped kitchen. The property also included a dish washer, washer, and dryer.

Property manager Teri is SUPER AWESOME! I arrived early at 9AM of my check-in day, and she was able to let me open up the property early. The regular check-in time is 3PM. It go without saying, she gave us extraordinary customer service. She was very responsive to our emails, phone calls, and requests.

A big YES! I would definitively recommend this property to my friends or relatives.

Simply, the property is in the heart of Wrigleyville (North side of Chicago) and minutes from downtown Chicago and Lake Michigan. Therefore, you will be minutes from tons of attractions and restaurants. Wrigleyville’s nightlife is just right there, a hop away from the property. I wish we would have stayed a few more days to see other attractions and dine at the famous Chicago eateries.

I would definitively go back and stay here, because of the property manager, Teri, the property, and location!!!

Great Place -- Great Neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

We had two apartments for a family graduation. The apartments were spotless, well supplied, attractive. Bedding was very comfortable. We loved it.

Neighborhood was outstanding -- we used Red and Brown Line trains close by, did errands on N. Southport St., and the neighborhood was the perfect combination of quiet and active -- quiet tree lined streets, and then a block over great empanadas. Loved staying in a low-rise neighborhood. Chicago has plenty of skyscrapers and bustle, which is fun, but a few stops on the CTA and you are waking to the birds singing. Strong recommend. Ben S., Massachusetts.

Outstanding Place to Stay in Chicago!

  • 4 of 5

If you want to do Chicago right, you must stay in the Chicago Guest House. You are walking distance from Wrigley Stadium, great/local restaurants, bars and musical entertainment. Plus, you are a 15 minute train ride downtown. The Chicago Guest House is absolutely adorable. With 3 spacious rooms and two baths, we had no issues with 6 people staying together. And the backyard is too perfect for words. Great place to sit and chat. You can even buy wine and steaks around the corner and then grill till your hearts content.

Lovely Wrigleyville Respite

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay here. The location was ideal, the apartment was lovely, clean and well appointed, and parking in the backyard garage was easy. Host was very responsive and made check-in/out very easy. If you're headed to Wrigleyville for a Cubs game (you can walk there) or you just want a place that's centrally located, this is a great choice.

Delightful!

  • 5 of 5

My family (2 adults & 2 grown kids) stayed here for 4 days and we had such a wonderful time. The apartment is elegantly but comfortably furnished, beds have great linens and pillows, it also has a washer and dryer but you won't need it because endless amounts of towels are provided. The neighborhood feels safe and friendly and the location is fantastic. Walking distance to Wrigley Field, shops, restaurants and the "L." With just 20-30 minutes to downtown, we were able to visit museums and then get back home for a stress-free, comfortable neighborhood feel. Parking is also easy in the garage or on the street. Great internet connection and large t.v. hidden unobtrusively in case you don't want it. In a word, Teri has paid attention to all the details both big and small and was almost instantly available for any questions we had. We'd go back in a heartbeat!

Or if you're up to the challenge, walk or ride along the spectacular lakefront to downtown. Divvy Bikes are available in the neighborhood and there is really no better way to really see this amazing city!
